Reawakening

We leave off seeing Gwen falling toward the murky waters below. She knows this will most likely be the end she's falling too fast and Peter... she doesn't believe he can make it in time. This looks like it will be the end for Gwen, sees him shoot a web toward her and there's hope it'll catch her, and everything will be okay. She feels the tug of the web and then there's nothing but darkness.

"I've got her she's going to be okay" Peter thought.

He didn't notice the way she hung limply from his thread her head back and no response can be seen from the young woman. When he has finally brought her over the ledge of the bridge, he sees she's not responsive and her eyes are closed with mostly ghostly features. Under his mask, he's fighting the tears that threaten to break.

"No, no, no... this can't be happening" he screams in anguish to himself. "You're okay you have to be okay. I need you..."

Even though the traffic horns and the screaming individuals below he hears a soft noise. A noise so quiet that a person even with a stethoscope wouldn't be able to hear. (Thump Thump...Thump Thump) He realizes now he's running on borrowed time and needs to get her help because the sounds are becoming softer and softer. So, without a moment's hesitation, Peter pulls her towards him and webs her arms around him. Then with a running start and a far jump, he's off to the only person that would be able to help her. As Peter is swinging through the city's skyscrapers, he sees the location of Stark Tower. With an extra burst of speed that he knew would leave him sore tomorrow, especially after his battle with Green Goblin he lands on the platform to Stark Tower.

Peter screams, "Tony! Anyone! I need help! You're going to be okay Gwen, I promise. Then after this, you can tell me how this isn't my fault and that I need to stop always carrying the world's burdens on my shoulders".

Tony can be seen arriving in what can only be described as hysteria since he had been at hard work on his latest suit. He takes notice of the girl in Peter's arms and quickly says, "Follow me". Peter follows Tony into the medical bay that lay within Stark Tower with Gwen still held firmly with him. He lays her in one of the numerous hospital beds that lay within the room as a team of doctors and nurses assess the blonde's injuries. Luckily it seems that Peter was able to make it within time.

"I did it she's safe. Where in the best medical facility you could ever ask for and from what I know she's stable. Everything will be okay" Peter thinks to himself.

Sadly, in typical Parker fashion that is the moment chaos seems to break out. Her heart monitor, which was steady, started rising slowly until all at once it started ringing and her body started shaking. Peter is then taken from the room rather unwillingly as the doctors get to work. What they didn't realize is that all the problems came from the web that caught her.

After many hours of Peter pacing back and forth waiting for news of the state of his girlfriend. A doctor called him back.

"I don't know how to tell you this son but it's not looking good. Right now, our major concern is her neck. It's been fractured in a couple of places along with numerous internal injuries there is no easy way to say it, but we don't have very high hopes of her making it through"

"There's got to be something that can be done!" Peter begs the man.

"I'm sorry there's not much else we can do with the amount of blood loss during the surgery to fix the internal damage it's a miracle that she's still even alive. Right now, the best thing you can do is possibly say your goodbyes."

"Alright..." is all that Peter can mutter as he turns away and goes toward Gwen's room with tear-filled eyes and a heart that shatters with every step he takes.

He makes it into the pristine white room with only the sound of the monitor beeping to let him know that at least Gwen is still there. As he takes a seat, he thinks about what he can do to fix this. "What good is being a genius that rivals that of Reed Richards and Tony Stark if I can't help the one, I love the most? I'm so sorry Gwen... this is all my fault. If only I could help you heal faster..."

That last phrase gives him pause when he debates if his idea would even be feasible and if it was how would this affect her. It didn't take long for him to decide that it was worth the risk if it brought Gwen home. With only the agility and speed of Spider-Man Peter is off to find Tony Stark.

Tony is seen in his lab working on the repulsors for his newest suit. When he hears the door slide open. He notices the young man in front of him with bloodshot eyes. He asks, "Are you okay?"

Peter responds with "It depends if we can make something impossible possible".

Tony is waiting for more description of what could ever possibly be meant by that as Peter shocks him with what he says next.

"I want to give Gwen my powers."

"You what! Kid that's not possible. It's never been done."

Peter knows that he sounds crazy but sometimes problems need crazy solutions.

"Kid this could change her whole life you know that right?" Tony questions.

"I believe that she would rather have that change than not have a life at all" he states with finality.

To put it mildly, the moment Peter came up with this idea, well Tony had many ideas on how to make it possible but to say it was easy was far from the truth.

*Time skip brought to you by Peter and Tony's caffeine overload*

With many hours placed within the lab and even more coffee cups drained of their liquid they came up with a serum that would hopefully give Gwen his healing factor. As they brought themselves into Gwen's room, they brought the serum to administer to Gwen. As they put the serum in the syringe, they put it into Gwen's arm and let the formula work its magic.

Hours have passed since Gwen was given the serum and it is seen that Peter Parker is holding the hand of his girlfriend as he sleeps on the chair next to her bed.

Gwen stirs awake as her eyes flutter open but are blinded by the bright lights of the hospital room. As quickly as she opens them, they are instantly closed as a groan escapes her lips. This small noise does little to stir Peter as Gwen tries again to open her eyes and even with the bright lights can finally see that she's in a white room and the realization dawns on her that she is in a hospital. The last thing that she can remember is falling but from where she questions herself. Then slowly it comes back the Goblin, Peter trying to save her, and then the web attaching and an awful pain then darkness. As she acclimates to her surroundings, she realizes that they must be close to the ground of the city since the sounds of the cars and people almost feel right outside of their window.

"Peter" Gwen whispers in his ear "Wake up".

Peter lets out a groan "Not now Gwen... I've been up worried about you...." The reality of the situation hit Peter harder than Rhino. "Gwen!" Peter all but yells out in surprise "You're awake! How are you feeling?" he asks cautiously.

"Well for one the city is awake everything seems so much louder than usual... other than that I feel great!" Gwen replies enthusiastically. "The real question should be why am I in here nothing hurts, and I feel like I could go run a marathon".

"That's great Gwen," Peter says, "I'm just glad you're here."

"What do you mean.." Gwen was about to ask before a ringing in her head sounded as a doctor entered the room. "That was odd" Gwen ponders to herself.

"Well, it's good to see you up Ms. Stacy I do hope you're feeling well now," the doctor said as he flipped through his charts and made sure everything appeared okay.

"I feel great doc but as I was telling Peter over here. Why am I here? I feel great, spectacular even, so I don't understand why I'm couped up in this room."

" Ms. Stacy you had multiple fractures in your neck along with numerous locations of internal bleeding. The fact that you're still here is honestly a medical miracle and what more is that you're not in any pain".

"What do you mean multiple fractures I'm fine there must've been a mistake".

"We can always go back and look but for now, I'll let you rest."

Gwen Stacy was more confused than she has been in her entire life but as of now, it seemed everything would be okay other than the fact that the world seemed so loud. After a few minutes of pondering the current situation at hand Gwen asked Pete to help her get to the bathroom and as she was washing her hands to turn the water off the knob controlling the water tore off with her. Slowly freaking out considering the sink looked brand new and she couldn't possibly do something like this made her way to the door to open it but as she turned the handle it came off with a snap.

"What the hell is going on" she shrieked "Peter... help."

Peter quickly makes it toward the bathroom and opens the door to assess the damage done as Gwen for her part is silently freaking out. Peter tells her "It's okay" and to "calm down" which to say didn't help would be stating the truth.
"Peter I just ripped off a door handle and a knob to the facet... I am incapable of doing either" Gwen calmly points out. "On top of that this isn't normal," Gwen releases her grip on both the knob and handle as neither object leaves her palms nor comes crashing to the ground.
