Stephen
As soon as you step out of a portal you opened, it closes behind you. The Sanctum is awfully quiet, and you immediately know that Strange is on his study. When you open the door of his study, Strange is sitting on his desk, reading a book that seems really old as a cup of tea remains on the table. "Why aren't you in Kamar Taj?" He asks calmly without looking at you, but you can sense he's annoyed by the fact you sneaked out of the Kamar Taj just because you're probably bored. um how did I get here? You force a smile. Stephen sighs in annoyance before looking at you. He then raises a brow as he asks with a suspicious look, "You're telling me you don't remember the portal you cast to get here?" Stephen is definitely not pleased with this, especially because you opened a portal in Kamar Taj, despite you've probably been told countless times it's prohibited.
Um Whats a portal? You say still forcing your smile. Stephen squints his eyes at your response, not buying your act. "Oh, now you're playing dumb, huh? You know exactly what you did. You opened a portal, defying the rules of Kamar Taj, even though you've been told countless times it's forbidden. Now, tell me, why are you really here?" Stephen's annoyance with your nonchalance grows, and he crosses his arms over his chest, waiting for a proper answer. You sigh. I was bored okay its not that big of a deal. Stephen's expression darkens as your response only worsens his irritation. "Bored? Not that big of a deal?" he retorts, the sarcasm thick in his voice. "It IS a big deal. You willingly disobeyed the rules, risked exposing Kamar Taj to external threats, all because you're bored? That's dangerously reckless!" The Doctor can't believe your lack of accountability for your actions. "You know very well the importance of maintaining secrecy and discipline within our ranks. Your irresponsible actions could put us all in jeopardy."
Then I guess were all gonna die. You say sarcastically. Stephen's patience reaches its limit as he stands from his desk, fixing his piercing gaze on you. "You think this is just some joke?" he exclaims, his voice tinged with frustration. "Do you even understand the severity of this? The rules are in place for a reason – to protect us, to protect reality itself!" He paces back and forth, trying to control his anger. "You can't just disregard those rules without consequences. You're putting everyone's safety at risk and undermining the very principles we uphold!" Stop lecturing me I get it, can't you take a joke. "Take a joke?" Stephen scoffs, unable to believe that you're still treating the matter so carelessly. "Do you even grasp the gravity of the situation? This isn't a game! We're tasked with defending reality itself, and you're acting like a reckless teenager!"
He steps closer to you, his gaze intense. "We're not playing around with magic and portals for amusement. Every action has consequences, and you need to start taking responsibility for yours. Your behavior is irresponsible, immature, and downright disrespectful!" I am a reckless teenager! You snapped back. Stephen's irritation turns to astonishment as you acknowledge your recklessness. He sighs deeply, rubbing his temples. "Being a reckless teenager is no excuse for such irresponsible behavior," he retorts, his tone a mix of frustration and disappointment. "I expected better from you, but it seems you're still stuck in your rebellious phase, disregarding the seriousness of our duties as sorcerers." Stephen's gaze softens slightly, and he takes a breath. "Listen," he continues, "I understand the urge for adventure and the need to push boundaries, but there's a line we cannot cross.
Yeah, yeah I know. Stephen's patience is wearing thin. "Do you, really?" he retorts incredulously. "Because your actions speak otherwise. Disregarding the rules, flaunting authority, and acting without consideration for the consequences – that's not just recklessness, that's downright foolish and dangerous." He crosses his arms, his gaze piercing. "Your flippant attitude towards everything we stand for is disrespectful not only to me, but to the very principles of sorcery. Until you're ready to take your responsibilities seriously, you're a danger to us all." Good! You yell. Stephen's irritation turns to anger as you yell. His eyes narrow, and his jaw clenches. "Good?" he mocks. "So you're reveling in your own recklessness? You truly believe putting everyone at risk is something to celebrate? Your behavior is beyond reckless – it's selfish and immature. Sorcery is not about indulging in your own desires without regard for the consequences." He steps closer, now just an inch away from you. "You either grow up and become a responsible sorcerer, or you're banned from Kamar Taj. Your defiant attitude is a danger to us all."
I'm tired of being treated like a little kid so if y'all refer to me as one I might as well act like one. Stephen's frustration turns into disbelief as you continue to justify your immaturity. "Treated like a kid?" he exclaims. "Is that what this is about now? You feel you're being treated like a child, so you act defiantly to prove your independence? That’s a childish way of approaching this." He takes a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "You've been entrusted with knowledge and power beyond your years. It's not about me or anyone else treating you like a child. It’s about expecting you to respect the rules and responsibilities that come with being a sorcerer." I just wanna be seen as a person and not some little kid cause that's not who I am anymore. Stephen lets out a deep sigh, his irritation giving way to a mixture of understanding and empathy. "I understand your desire to be recognized as an individual, to grow beyond the restrictions of childhood. But that transition doesn't come without responsibility and consequences."
He lowers his tone, his voice calmer but firm. "You may not feel like a child anymore, but you're not fully an adult either. The way you're behaving only shows your immaturity, not your independence." His gaze softens a little. But it also shows my resilience. Stephen nods slightly, acknowledging your statement. "Resilience is a valuable trait, yes," he concedes. "But it also requires maturity and wisdom. You're testing our limits and challenging our authority, not because it makes you resilient, but because it proves your defiance." He looks at you intently. "Resilience is about facing adversity head-on, not creating chaos. You need to find a balance between asserting yourself and respecting the rules that bind us. Fine I'll try. A hint of relief flickers across Stephen's features as he nods, seeing a glimmer of understanding in your response."Good," he responds, a bit of the initial tension easing from his shoulders. "But trying isn't enough. You need to learn to respect the rules and understand their importance. It's not just about authority or control – it's about protecting each other, our world, and even other realities." He pauses, a small smile forming on his face. "I believe you have the potential to become a great sorcerer. You just need to recognize the value of discipline and responsibility."
Now your sounding like a teacher. Stephen raises a brow, a wry smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He sighs, a mix of amusement and resignation in his voice as he retorts, "Well, I suppose that's what I am, isn't it? I'm responsible for your training, your development as a sorcerer." He takes a step closer to you, a hint of warmth creeping into his gaze. "I want to see you grow into a capable and responsible sorcerer. That's why I take the rules and discipline seriously. It's not just about control; it's about shaping you into the best version of yourself." Okay i'll try my best.
