Clint

It was midnight. At least, you thought so. That would’ve gone with the vibe of right now. You had just fought off some attackers; they probably did it because you had stolen some weird Ronin suit from a sketchy nearby secret auction. But you had help. Help that was now holding you against the wall of an alley, staring down at you angrily. “Where did you get that suit?” Clint asked seriously. You knew he wasn’t looking for some snarky comment. An auction You smile innocently. His grip on your shoulder tightened, making his knuckles go white. He was still in the Ronin suit, it made him look like a crazed assassin. His eyes glared deeply into your own. “And who sold it?” he almost growled. Clearly, he was tired in the middle of this. I don't know he was in a cloak. “In a cloak,” he muttered to himself. He didn’t believe you, that was obvious. After a moment he seemed to ease up, but not much. “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t punch your teeth out?” he said through teeth tightly clenched.

Because that would be assault, burglary cause I'm assuming your gonna take the suit and those actions are criminal enough for jail time. The fact that you knew the legal consequences of his potential actions surprised him for a moment. He thought about his options while he continued to glare down at you. He could either knock you out or take you with him, neither of which were great options. He took his hand off your shoulder after a moment and loosened his facial expression. “Fine. You’re coming with me.” ooh where are we going? He gave you a dirty look, “To the Avengers’ Compound. We’re gonna figure out where you stole this from. Or we’re gonna figure out who’s going down for selling it in an illegal auction.” Clint pushed off the wall of the alley and motioned for you to follow him. You follow behind him. As you both left the alleyway and walked down the empty street, Clint looked back over at you. "Y’know, your life would’ve been a lot easier if you had just left that suit alone, right? Why’d you even want it in the first place?” He asked.

Because easy's boring it's always the same difficult is much more interesting. He laughed a little to himself, “I suppose I can’t argue with that logic, but you do realize you just stole, and possibly endangered yourself, with what’s known as Ronin’s suit, right?” He said sarcastically. Yeah. Clint just shook his head a bit, “God. You really are something else,” he said with a chuckle. The rest of the walk was fairly quiet, other than some small comments on the way. Soon enough the two of you arrived at the Avengers’ Compound. As you entered, you were greeted by the rest of the remaining Avengers. Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, James Rhodes, and Sam Wilson were all there. They all seemed intrigued by the fact that Clint had returned with a stranger. “I assume this is the thief?” Natasha asked, looking you up and down. You smile. He nodded. “Yep. Stole it from an illegal auction. She also seems to have her fair share of battle skills,” he said as he leaned against some counter, crossing his arms over his chest. Steve spoke up afterward. “What’s your name?” Steve inquired curiously.

Reader. The group glanced among themselves for a moment, before Clint spoke again. “Is that it? Is that all you’re going to give?” he asked, sounding slightly irritated again. "Just your first name?” Yep. You say smiling. A small sigh escaped his mouth before he motioned a small way off to the side, “So, what exactly are we supposed to do with her?” he asked all of the other Avengers. Steve thought for a moment before saying, “Well, she seems trustworthy enough. I wouldn’t be opposed to letting her join.” Clint seemed to disagree with this, but just scoffed. “So, we’re gonna welcome a complete stranger that has zero qualifications to join ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’? Sounds like a great idea, Steve,” Clint said sarcastically, his voice laced with annoyance. You don't seem all high and mighty. His gaze turned to you when you said this, and he stood straight. His voice was cold and bitter. “And what does that mean, exactly?” He knew you were trying to irritate him, it clearly worked.

You were trying your luck, so you decided to keep pushing. “It just seems like you’re too arrogant. You shouldn’t be part of the ‘Mightiest Heroes’ with the attitude you’ve shown so far,” you replied, matching his energy. Clint’s fists clenched at his sides, as he kept his icy glare. Though the silence was quickly cut off by the sound of Tony’s laughter. "I like her already," he said as he clapped his hands together amusedly, "I say we keep her around.” You could almost feel the heat of Clint’s anger rise as the others agreed with Tony. He shook his head and gave you a look before he said through his teeth, “You’re gonna get yourself killed someday with that attitude. I hope you know that.” You smile at him. I know. Clint said nothing as you smiled back at him, you could tell he was already fed up with you, though a small huff of laughter escaped him. “Well… guess we might as well give you a tour to get you to shut up for awhile,” he groaned in slight defeat. He knew he’d probably just made Stark’s day, which irritated him even more.

He began walking around, pointing out different things as he did. “That’s the gym, dining room, Tony’s lab, the training facility, etc…” He said gesturing to each place. Every now and then you and Clint would exchange a few rude comments in between things, obviously trying to one-up each other everytime. Will be living in like a hotel or something? Clint glanced at you for a moment. "We'll get you into a guest room, we've had many people stay over before you," he remarked coldly, though it was obvious he didn't like the idea of you being at the compound at all. Okay that's good You smile and mutter quietly. I don't have the money if they didn't. A small smirk formed on Clint's face as he heard you muttering. He made a mental note of what you'd said and filed it away to annoy you more with later. He finished showing you around after several minutes, all the while you and him continued your little game of taunting each other. Soon enough the tour ended, Clint leaned against one of the walls in the foyer near the front door, "That’s it. That's the entire place. Happy?"

Happy's an overstatement. He rolled his eyes, his smirk still plastered on his face. "Good to know. You're a pain, anyone ever tell you that?" he replied, amused by your quick comment. Yeah what of it. "There it is. That's the attitude that's gonna get you killed, like a said," he responded. Clint still didn't understand what Tony had seen in you. He didn't know how the man could possibly think that someone who was so clearly arrogant could be a good fit for the Avengers. He glanced over at you for a moment, he could hear your annoyed breathing and see your balled up fists. He knew he was getting on your nerves, and for some reason, that amused him. i'll go now. As you began to walk away Clint chuckled and said, “Have fun in your new room,” he said in a taunting tone. He knew it would get on your nerves a little, he wanted to see how far you’d snap before you lost your composure.

And then you knew this was the beginning of this annoying friendship.
