Note
This story came to me in a manic episode, is the first time i've ever written a fanfic, so please if you dare to read this BE PATIENT. I will be updating a lot these days. I had read a lot of Loki fanfics but none seem to have exactly what i want, so I figured I would make it myself. At the beginning of each chapter I will put the name of a song that I feel have the same vibe as the chapter. Also quick warning, ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. Anyways I hope this isn't so terrible 🤍

Chapter 5

I bet on losing dogs - Mitski

You stared at him for what seemed like an eternity, unsure of what to say. “I’m sorry for pushing you away, by the time I realized I was in love I became shy around you, and I guess I scared you away.” he said still smiling wide.

After some minutes in silence he spoke again “You have to go, its late, you have to keep meeting up with your future husband and I don’t really want more trouble so…” he pointed at the door.

“We are planing on convincing Odin to break up the betrothal.” you spoke without really thinking; you looked up to him, curious what his reaction would be, he was just staring in silence. “I saw you two from the balcony today, you didn’t seem to be planing that, it was more of loving embraces than anything else really.” Loki mocked.

So he saw you, well, you were not lying anyways, you let out a sigh before speaking again. “I was comforting him. Thor and I are not happy with this, he likes another, he wishes to be married to her, not me.” you said.

Loki thought in silence for a couple of seconds, “You don’t look sad about that” he murmured leaning his head to the side. You almost cracked a little smile, “That’s because I’m not” you stated softly.

Something changed in the air after you shared that last phrase, the cold wind entering in Loki’s room stopped freezing, and the phantom weight in your shoulders felt like it was vanishing slowly. You stared at him again for good measure, you had this habit of analyzing the faces of those around you; Loki’s face was sharp, his features were sharp, he had high cheekbones and a pointed nose, his green and blueish eyes were covered by long lashes that appeared bigger when his tears wetted them, his black hair had grown a little bit past his shoulders, and his lips… he had thin pink lips, now chapped and peeled, with a few spots of blood, probably due to stress; they were once soft, or they appeared soft. This was not your first time observing them.

Loki cleared his throat and stood up from the couch and offered his hand to help you stand up. “It’s late, go rest, we will talk tomorrow” he murmured in a low voice while guiding you to his door.

You followed him without saying a word. He opened the door for you, and waited for you to exit his chambers. As you were going out he grabbed you by your arm, and took you inside his room again, closing the door with the weight of you both being pressed to it. It happened so fast you didn’t really have time to process everything, he gave you a little smile, and next time you knew, he pressed his lips with yours.

You both stayed still like that, a thousand thoughts crossed your mind in that moment. Should I do something? Do I push him? Or pull him closer? Do I close my eyes? Where do I put my hands? Is this a bad thing? Your heart was beating so fast and your breath was labored. After some seconds of extreme thinking you finally let yourself relax, you took in the moment, the scent of Loki’s cologne, the weight of his lips on yours, his labored and nervous breathing, the leather in his armor crinkling with his movements.

He separated your union for a moment, “Guards.” he whispered while smiling. You couldn’t help but laugh, he passed a hand through your hair and rested it in the back of your neck before he took you in for another kiss.

Now the kiss was different, he stepped it up by moving his lips, and you did too. He went slow, this was not a desperate kiss, not a passional kiss, this was a “I’ve been waiting for this” kind of kiss, had you been waiting for this too?.

You two kissed for some minutes, when he broke it you were afraid he was going to snap, that he would let his fears blind him and he would kick you from his room. But no. He just rested his forehead on top of yours with a smile on his face. You haven’t seen him smile so much since you were kids.

You stayed like that for a couple of seconds before he opened the door again. “No more guards.” he whispered slightly laughing. You felt your limbs numb, and you were debating whether you should go or stay for another kiss. He awaited your answer, “see you tomorrow” was all you could come up with as you stepped outside.

Loki gave you a sweet smile and a nod, and signaled with his head for you to get going to your room. This time he didn’t close his door, he leaned in the frame of his room’s entrance and watched you walk to your room. It was not far, you two were separated by 3 rooms only, they weren’t in use, almost 80% of the rooms in the castle were empty.

When you arrived at your door you weren’t even able to look at him again, by that time the rush from the kiss had disappeared and all your senses screamed at you to hide. After some seconds you managed to offer Loki a smile before going inside…

What the actual fuck just happened?
