Somewhere in the airlines of West Genetics, there was a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey that was about to make a landing.
"Control, this is West 3-4, in route to prepare for landing," the VTOL Pilot spoke from the comms.
"Roger that, West 3-4, you are clear to land," the Control Tower confirmed.
On the ground, there was Kazuha Aoi, wearing her light blue field dress uniform, smiling as one of her hands was clenched and raised to her bosom, while the other hand was raised to the side of her hair that was being blown by the wind. The VTOL's back portion would open up, revealing a man in his thirties, with brown hair and eyes with round glasses frames, wearing a scientific lab coat. Accompanying him on his shoulder was a small silver mobile terminal drone with two red eyes, the Metal Gear Mk. V. The man was carrying a briefcase containing all of the important stuff that he would need when settling down in West Genetics.
"Octagon!" Kazuha exclaims with a cheerful and affectionate smile. She hopped fast, in the blink of an eye, and appeared right towards Octagon, who was surprised at the sudden but not unwelcoming embrace.
"Eh... ehehehehe, it's good to see you again, Kazuha," Octagon smiled a little, embracing her a little with his one free hand. The Mk. V would move a little and hop to Kazuha's shoulder, putting its face towards her cheek and rubbing it, making her giggle. "And the Mk. V misses you too, as always."
"Hmm, I'm so happy that you're here, Octagon," Kazuha would take Octagon by the hand as he was led out from the VTOL. "Come on, let's stop by my place. I want us both to catch up a little."
They are having fun. Well, that's one way of looking at it as time passes by.
"Hmm~"
Chiffon was humming a little as she was holding what appeared to be a great white shark pillow. As to how she got it, she and Eugene once stopped by a holographic shooting range where Eugene decided to make use of his skills.
"Woah, look at that guy go!" one of the civilians, one that looked like a humanoid cat with orange fur, would exclaim.
Chiffon watches with interest as she notes the flow of movement and the formal stance that Eugene took, raising one hand holding a gun and the other holding nothing but a clenched fist. She watches Eugene dodge the holographic bullets just by sidestepping and shooting down the holographic enemies, those wearing balaclava masks and military gear and attire. Having completed one level, Eugene would be given a prize that was lined up on the shelves where all types of sea animals were seen.
"I'll choose that one," Eugene said, pointing to the great white shark pillow.
After getting the prize, he gave it to Chiffon, who was embracing the pillow in a positive mood. They were currently in a Starbucks restaurant where conveniently enough, there was an available chocolate chiffon cake. Eugene naturally paid for it of course. Another reason for Chiffon's uplifting mood, eating the cake while holding on to the soft great white shark pillow.
"...You know," Eugene, after chewing a part of the cake with a fork.
"Hmm?" Chiffon hummed, looking at Eugene.
"I find it odd that your favorite food just so happened to be named after you," Eugene could not help but point out."
"I couldn't help it, it's very delicious after all," Chiffon puts her hand to her face. "You're American, right, Eugene?"
"Yes," Eugene answered.
"If there's one thing you Americans did right, it's the invention of this delicacy. The softness of the sponge-like exterior, the tender moist crumbs, and right now, I'm eating a very sweet flavor of chocolate. This cake comes from all types of flavors you see," Chiffon explained.
"Hmm. Next thing you know, you're favorite clothes are made out of a fabric that is named after you," Eugene side commented.
"Ara? How did you know?" Chiffon looked intrigued.
Eugene made a "!" expression and spoke with a bewildered tone. "Wait, I was right?"
Chiffon could not help but giggle a little. "Well, being honest, I like plenty of clothing, so please don't think of me as a one-track-minded person."
"I... I see..." Eugene made a sweatdropped expression.
"Maybe next time, we should probably go to a clothing store at the mall. Oh, and Ticy and Mr. Rotomaster can come too, of course," Chiffon said.
"Please have mercy on my wallet, because I think I know where this is going," Eugene bowed his head a little.
"Hmm. So you're the type of person who does not want to spend too much money, Eugene?" Chiffon said.
"I never really felt the need to spend money much of the time, unless of course I needed something to fill my stomach or something to wear on days where the weather gets a little hotter or colder for the average grunt like me," Eugene said while sighing.
Of course, he's not gonna mention other things out in the open that he knew Chiffon would be familiar with. Examples include the buying and selling of weapons and technology from private contractors and trusted businessmen, as well as the regulating of military budgets, which was usually the job of the military analysts and socio-economists within Blackwatch.
Chiffon smiled a little. "Come on, Eugene, you must have at least experienced normal clothes shopping with some people you've known all this time."
"Well, there were the times I had to go to the clothes store with my friend Octagon and his daughter Sunny," Chiffon perked a bit when Eugene mentioned the two, recognizing the former, Dr. Kyle "Octagon" Emmerich, the former employee of the Cyberdyne Systems Corporation's branch stationed on Shadow Moses Island. "Octagon would say to me a few times, 'apparel oft proclaims the man'."
"Interesting quote," Chiffon mused.
"It came from Shakespeare's Hamlet, where a character called Polonius would tell his son to dress well because, you guessed it, apparel oft proclaims the man. The phrase eventually took modern parlance, now saying 'the clothes maketh the man'. I would probably agree with that. Appropriate clothing tends to allow a person to blend in with one's environment."
"Spoke from experience?" Chiffon asks.
"I should say so," Eugene nodded. He looked around a bit and noticed that there were plenty of non-humans that were seen eating and talking, many of whom were sitting at the table. Some look like cat people with humanoid features, a common one to be found in a nation like Japan. There were floating disks that had green globs with eyes on them. There was one non-human that had a giraffe's face for a head, along with humanoid features.
"Ne, onee-chan... You know how the Pandora were originally created to protect the human race, right? How do non-humans factor into the equation of protection? How does the Pandora perceive them?" Eugene muttered.
Chiffon thought that it was an interesting question. By the time Chiffon was born which was somewhere around the 70s, already there were these beings that were not of human origin who were coming out from the shadows and into the light and the public eye. World War II was but the start of what was the perceived masquerade breaking down. Long before the Nova came, humanity discovered and ultimately realized that they were no longer the only species that resided on this planet, that they were not as top of the food chain as they thought they were, that they were no longer alone in the universe.
In fact, aside from the Nova which was the primary concern for Pandora to be created and to fight against them, Pandora were also charged with dealing with other forces that pose a potential threat to humanity. Whether if it were those of the old myths and legends, the gods that mankind used to worship, the demons that people try to either exorcise or flee, lords of infernal realms that produced nightmares of damnation and despair, the vampiric parasites who stalk through the night and fear the day, the ones that haunt beyond the grave, and so forth, or even those from beyond the stars, extraterrestrial life that visits their world, or even those from other extradimensional origins, or even on this earth, those among humanity who have been given powers that cannot just be explained so simply, categorized as metahumans or espers.
The Pandora were essentially humanity's ultimate answer to all of it. They were the Penultimate Preternatural, Supernatural, and Extranatural Deterrence. Every nation on Earth wanted a Pandora of their own. They were considered as humanity's greatest champions and protectors. The last line of defense. The Modern Day Amazons.
"...Hmm, that's quite the deep question, Eugene," Chiffon smiled sadly. "You could say that, even in the 21st Century, while most Pandora may have gotten used to the presence of those who aren't human, there may still be some form of prejudice that some of the old Pandora would have against those who are not human."
"And what about you?" Eugene asks. "What do you think about them?"
"...I think... that they have just as much of a right to live as humans do," Chiffon spoke with a solemn tone, looking around the place. "From what I can see, most of them do not act differently compared to humans. They smile, they cry, they talk, they sense with their own five or more senses, they crave for friendships and for love, they experience fortune and misfortune, all things that humans have felt for millennia, they do, so I do not see much of a difference between the two."
"...And I agree with that," Eugene muttered grimly, lowering his eyes a bit. "Though that begs the question... what does that define us? Are we human?"
Eugene didn't need to explain further. He wasn't referring to Pandoras or Limiters. No, it was referring to two things. Himself and Chiffon Fairchild. Both of whom were created as living superweapons. Eugene's humanity had been forcibly stripped from him, turning him into a semi-immortal cyborg. Chiffon was practically born as a powerful superweapon, all for the purpose of humanity's clashes against the threat of the Nova. The daughter of the late Maria Lancelot, the Mother of all Pandora.
...Both him and Chiffon had blood on their hands. Violence became a natural part of their life. For most of their life, there was never what you'd call normal. Eugene tries to do the normal routine a few times, but he gets dragged back into the battlefield eventually. With Chiffon, she could not even try to escape her own destiny, for she was the youngest of the Legendary Pandora, a hidden Goddess walking the Earth, with powers that exceed all of the Pandora on this Earth combined.
He wondered what Chiffon's perspective would be about what makes someone human. She must have had her own grapples with that conundrum.
Chiffon, in response, smiled as she placed her hand towards Eugene's hand. She recalls something at the same time. Memories of her late friend's words came back to her mind.
"Fighting the Nova is something I can't even begin to imagine. I'm sorry I wasn't able to realize how big of a burden you were carrying. But you know, if there's one thing I know that's true, it's that human emotions are an absolute necessity, in order to become stronger. When someone has the power to protect many others, they have to understand the weak. Those who they are meant to protect. I know that you're more than capable of doing that, Chiffon. I believe your father feels the same way as well. Your father wanted you to grow the way you have. To meet me and learn about the human heart. And I just know that the reason I was able to live this long was so that I could meet you."
Eugene looked at Chiffon as the latter said meekly. "Eugene... I've lived for decades. Even now, I still don't know how to answer the question of whether I'm human or not. At times, I may even doubt that I ever was. But... the one thing I can be sure of is that... I can feel just as humans do. I smile and I cry. I experienced both positive and negative emotions. I care for those I care about. Friends and family. Tell me something, Eugene, are there people in this world that you truly care for?"
"Yes," Eugene did not hesitate to answer with an affirmative.
"Then, doesn't that already answer your question?" Chiffon said.
"...Hmm, I suppose," Eugene nodded.
Yes, Eugene may at times struggle with issues surrounding his humanity, but the one thing that was never taken from him is his ability to still care, to have a heart to give, and to have a sense of empathy even for those who are his enemies. That was the one thing HYDRA had never taken from him. His sense of humanity. To have a heart that still cares, despite everything, he considered to be the greatest thing worth living for. Without the heart, all a person is would be a cold moniker and a rotten corpse, no longer alive, yet better off dead.
"Ne, onee-chan," Eugene spoke with a smile. "When are we planning on meeting up with Abel and Ms. Phenyl?"
"Sometime in the afternoon. Why?" Chiffon asks.
Eugene would grab something from his shirt pocket. It was his phone. Pressing a button, it would display a map detailing the location of the marine zoo, and there were two icons that had the names 'Abel Rotomaster' and 'Ticy Phenyl' tagged on them.
"I thought, why not we both have some fun by tailing two of our friends and see what happens," Eugene spoke, sporting a smile of humor.
Chiffon smirked a little. "Oh, Eugene, you naughty little boy, I like the way you think."
Eugene and Chiffon were currently tailing Abel and Ticy.
Chiffon couldn't help but feel a little excited. In one sense, they were playing as superspies that were tailing interesting people. Eugene was wearing a pair of shades and had what appeared to be a hearing aid device on his ear so that he could listen in to the conversation. Chiffon got her own shades and earpiece so that she could listen in on the conversations that Ticy and Abel were having.
From what Eugene told her, before separating, he would make use of a singular nanite to act as a kind of tracker that he could use just in case. He figured that this date was the perfect opportunity to test it. Eugene and Chiffon were just a few meters away from Abel and Ticy who were just walking, with happy smiles etched unto their faces.
"...Never thought I'd actually enjoy two sword fishes fighting each other," Abel mused a little, recalling two sentient, and actually talking, sword fishes that were seen from one part of the oceanarium tank fighting each other.
"Hmm. I thought so too," Ticy smiled cheerfully. "Though what I enjoyed a lot more was that turtle horde that suddenly came to interrupt the fight. That was so random."
Abel laughed a little. "Yeah, it was random."
"...Well, they seem to be enjoying themselves just fine," Eugene muttered.
"Hmm... nothing seems to have happened between the two so far," Chiffon looked a little miffed.
Eugene raised an eyebrow. "What? Did you expect them to suddenly turn into a lovey-dovey couple or something?"
"No, but I was just planting the seeds that may possibly lead to that," Chiffon mused a little, putting her hand to her chin.
"Scary..." Eugene sweatdropped. "...Next thing you know, you'd probably manipulate me into doing your dirty work."
"Oh, whatever do you mean, Eugene, I'd never do something like that, ehehehe~" Chiffon smiled innocently.
"...No further comment," Eugene rather not set more fuel to the fire.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Hmm?" Chiffon noticed the beeping sound coming from the shades, and Eugene was receiving it too.
Eugene would press the button on the earpiece and a common visual appearance would be seen from both his and Chiffon's shades. A man in his thirties and wearing a scientist lab coat would appear on a screen. It was Octagon, looking a little intrigued. The background was that of a large familiar open room that only belonged to none other than Kazuha's room located in the four-story dorm room.
"Beetle, it seems that you're making use of the Nanite Range Tracker (NRT) that I made. How's it working so far?" Octagon spoke from the comms.
"So far so good," Eugene said. "Oh, and Octagon, thought I'd introduce you to the woman who is right beside me. Chiffon Fairchild. Nee-chan, this is Dr. Kyle Emmerich, though most people call him Octagon."
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Fairchild," Octagon said, putting a hand to the bridges of his glasses.
"Likewise," Chiffon smiled a little, putting her hands together. "Eugene had talked to me about you and your daughter recently, something about clothes shopping."
"Ah, that's quite interesting. Did he mention that quote that I gave him?"
"Hmm. He said, apparel oft proclaims the man," Chiffon answered.
"That's the one," Octagon smiled a little. Then he looks at Eugene. "I guess she already knows who are you now, huh, Beetle."
"Hrmm. Though Octagon, judging by the background of the codec, I'd assume that you recently arrived at West Genetics?"
"Yep," Octagon nodded. "Currently, I'm staying at Kazuha's place. She's making me that special rice omelet and miso soup that I always enjoyed."
"Kazuha? Aoi Kazuha?" Chiffon knitted her eyebrows in curiosity.
"That reminds me," Eugene muttered. "Nee-chan, just how much did your father tell you about my connections with his granddaughter?"
"Only as Red Beetle," Chiffon answered. "I knew that you saved Kazuha-chan's father in the past and were good friends with him. Though it does not surprise me now that Kazuha-chan is one of the few who knows your true identity and is closely associated with."
"Well, pretty much every faculty member of West and East Genetics knows about me by default," Eugene muttered. "We have a very long history together."
"All the way back to the Cold War, I'd reckon," Chiffon smiled.
Eugene nodded. "Hmm. In any case, Octagon, we're currently a little busy tailing a few stragglers, so is there any important information or input you're going to provide?"
"Oh, no, don't mind me, Beetle, just enjoy yourself for once, seeing as this is a rare opportunity to test my gadgets without the literal world being at stake this time. If you or Ms. Fairchild require any assistance on my part, my frequency number is 141.12."
"141.12. Got it," Eugene said.
"This is rather exciting," Chiffon smiled in anticipation. "This definitely feels more like a campy spy mission that I tend to watch on movie night with Ticy."
"Oh, I can assure you, Ms. Fairchild," Octagon puts his hands to the bridges of his glasses, making an amused smirk. "The real deal puts those movies dead in the water."
"Octagon, you're meal's ready!" Kazuha's voice was heard from the kitchen.
"Oh, coming, Kazuha!" Octagon responded, turning his face to the right. He would look back at Eugene and Chiffon. "Well, I better get going. Talk to you later, Beetle, Ms. Fairchild."
"Right, give my regards to Kazuha for me," Eugene said.
"Aww~ No need for that, uncle!" Kazuha's voice was heard in the background. "I can hear you just fine! Good luck on your date with Aunt Chiffon!"
Eugene smiled a little. "Thank you, Kazuha."
Then the call would end, leaving the communications back to normal, with Abel and Ticy's voices being heard from the comms.
"Hmm~" Chiffon sported a teasing look, locking one of her arms to Eugene's arm. "So you told my niece that we were going on a date, hmm~?"
"You were the one who suggested this double date to begin with, nee-chan, I just told Kazuha the truth of the matter," Eugene pointed out.
It was late afternoon. And nothing remotely happened, as far as Abel and Ticy's relationship is concerned, much to Chiffon's disappointment. Though on the other hand, Chiffon admitted that she had fun with Eugene, tailing Abel and Ticy together. She never thought she'd see this side of the famous hero, and she found it quite relatable.
Right now, they were just taking a train back to West Genetics.
"We should definitely do something like this next time," Chiffon spoke with a smile, putting both of her hands together, looking at Ticy, who was seated right next to her. Abel was on Ticy's right side, both him and Ticy were smiling. Chiffon looks to her left, where Eugene was sitting, sporting a curious yet neutral expression.
"Hmm," Ticy nodded. "I did have plenty of fun touring the zoo. I got to see all types of sea animals, especially the turtles."
"Hey, Eugene," Abel looks at Eugene. "What exactly have you and the Madam President been up too while we separated?"
Eugene and Chiffon looked at each other, the latter making a knowing smile. Eugene responded. "Hmm, nothing that may be special to you or the Vice President."
"Umm," Ticy muttered, sporting a look of concern. "You can call me Ticy if you want, Eugene."
"U..Umm, right, sorry," Eugene nodded.
"Oh, and Eugene," Eugene's spine felt a little chill. He felt the urge to sweat a little as his eyes glanced at Chiffon, who while smiling, looked a little... intimdating? Was that the right word, he thought. In fact, if this were an anime, it would look like a hannya mask was materializing out in the open. "Don't even think of calling her onee-chan, or whatever honorific that is associated by that name. Actually, don't call other women with that kind of term. You never know how much that may affect them."
"...Eh..ehehehe," Ticy sported a wincing look of sympathy.
Translation: Don't call a Pandora by onee-chan or any similar term. Otherwise, I would experience excruciating pain. Eugene thought dryly.
...Ahehehe, should I be worried about Eugene at this point? Because the Madam President is rather scary. Abel thought, a little glad that it was not him that was close to Chiffon. Like, don't get him wrong, Chiffon is quite the beautiful and interesting woman, but he doesn't think he can handle someone like her. Maybe Eugene could, he thought with some amusement. Besides, Abel thought as he glanced at Ticy, there may be another woman he has in mind.

Ksssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
"...!"
Eugene and Abel, and Chiffon and Ticy all noticed something. It was likened to passing through something unnatural. Like... a kind of boundary line, passing through from one place to another. And yet, they were still in the same place. The Pandoras' senses were feeling something foul, one that seemed to permeate throughout the entire train, with the only bright spot being where the Pandoras were currently occupied. Outside the windows, everything appears to be normal. The afternoon sunset can still be seen on the horizon, whose rays permeate from the windows.
But the Pandoras weren't fooled. Something was wrong with their general surroundings. The Pandora could feel it, from their senses to their very heartbeats. This entire place felt anathema to them, and yet, the spiritual energy that they were gaining from this twisted realm was making them feel... powerful...
Abel shivered a little, feeling cold, with his breath becoming a little visible. He put both of his hands to his arms and spoke. "...What the, why is it so cold all of a sudden?"
"Chiffon!" Ticy looks at Chiffon with anxiety and caution.
"Hmm, I know," Chiffon nodded, feeling unpleasant. "We've just passed through something."
"Pass through something?" Abel asks.
"A boundary line," Eugene answered the question, causing the three to look at him, sporting a grim expression. "The world around us is a lot more fragile than many people think. Studies made by Chevalier scientists indicated, proposed, and documented that the boundaries between the normal reality and the spiritual dimensions can be stretched thin. Most of the time, it's subtle, and unsuspecting people may not even know of it." Eugene looks at the two Pandora close to him. "Except for the Pandora, and by extension, the Limiters, who would notice the numerical difference between said realities."
Eugene stands up from his seat, putting his hands in his pockets. "Nee-chan, Ticy, Pandoras have been called upon to fight on the Nova who come from another dimension, yes?"
"Hmm," Chiffon nodded with a serious face, standing up and walking towards Eugene's side. "That's right."
"Though of course, Pandora have been generally referred to by the political and military forum as a "Preternatural, Supernatural, and Extranatural Deterrence", and so..." as Eugene spoke, doors from the train leading to other train cars were opened.
"Maaaaaaaaaa..."
Multiple sounds of high-pitched bleats were heard echoing from the doors. The Pandoras and Abel looked from the left to the right and spotted what appeared to be creatures with human-like bodies, but had the features and faces of black goats, with two horns found on the head and bat-like two-fold wings sprouting on their backs.
Both Chiffon and Ticy immediately made battle stances and summoned their Volt Weapons. Chiffon's Volt Weapon was a pair of large dark blue gauntlets with gold stripes and black-bladed fingers. Ticy's Volt Weapon was a large-bladed zanbato.
"...It seems the devils have come out to play with that and try to drag us to hell," Eugene muttered, narrowing his eyes towards his left.
"Maaaaaaaaaa!"
The goat-like demonic creatures would sprout their wings and charge straight towards them, with an aura of malice and devil covering their entire being. Their paws were now carrying sharp-edged claws, one that could decapitate a normal man in seconds. Chiffon and Ticy... simply slashed through them.
"...Huh," Abel muttered in shock, widening his eyes.
It wasn't just the fact that the goat-like creatures were wiped out. It was because both Chiffon and Ticy didn't seem to move much, if at all. The only indication that would make one guess that Chiffon and Ticy performed offensive movements is evidenced by the alien green blood that was dripping from their weapons. That was one of the powers of a Pandora. To attack in the blink of an eye, incapable of being seen by normal humans.
...In the next second, another shift occurred, sending them back to the normal reality, and all four of them would feel it.
The spiritual miasma was no more. The sense of danger was gone. But the dead bodies of the goat-like creatures remained, showcasing that it wasn't an illusion, that they temporarily stepped into another realm beyond the normal reality.
"...Ah...Ahh..." Abel couldn't help but feel shocked at what had just taken place. What was that just now? What he felt right now was... dread? It was not because of the Pandora, no, but rather, this was his first time experiencing the realm of combat, and this happened without any mental premeditation. The dead bodies were not helping. He could see the gory details, of the goats that were torn apart, limb from limb, with guts spewing out, and heads rolling.
"Abel, Abel, breathe, breathe," Abel could hear Ticy's voice, like that of an angel, drawing him closer. She dematerialized her Volt Weapon and raising her hands, placed them on his shoulders, in a posture of comfort. Her eyes were looking at his. "Look at me, Abel, breathe," she spoke. Abel obeyed, focusing only on Ticy, and tried to breathe in and out.
Eugene would glance at Abel, sporting a look of empathy. Then he, with a serious expression, would speak with Chiffon. "Nee-chan." He looks at Chiffon, having dematerialized her Volt Weapon, and was walking close to him. "I may need your help with this one."
"Hmm, I know," Chiffon nodded with an understanding smile.
Eugene would grab his glasses and earpiece device. Ticy and Abel would notice him, looking curious. Eugene would dial the correct frequency and would try to make contact with someone.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Then, a holographic screen would burst open, revealing Octagon, looking curious.
"This is Beetle, Octagon, we have a situation. Code Red X24."
"What?! You've all encountered infernal activity?!" Octagon sported an alarmed look.
"Yeah, we were just hopping for a ride on a train when we passed through a boundary line and encountered a few Lamia. Fortunately, nee-chan and the Vice- I mean, Ticy, managed to deal with them pretty easily," Eugene explained.
"Oh god... Alright, I'm gonna call in from the nearby Blackwatch Command Center in Sinshin and inform them to send in the containment units to your next stop," Octagon said.
"While you're at it, I think it's best if the train lines leading from, to, and away to Sinshin be stopped entirely. Call it a gut feeling, but I figured that we may not be the first ones that may have experienced slipping into a hell realm unintentionally," Eugene muttered.
"You mean... more people may have been taken by the Lamia. Dear god, I hope that isn't the case," Octagon spoke grimly.
"That makes two of us," Eugene said.
Then the holographic screen from his shades fades, leaving the codec communications silent. Eugene sighed heavily and spoke with a slightly depressed tone, lowering his head. "...I only spent two days in West Genetics and I'm already being given an extradimensional problem to deal with. So much for normal, even if it is a military school kind of life."
Abel and Ticy were silent, not knowing what to make of this. Chiffon on the other hand...
"...?"
...would embrace him. His head and hair were now comforted by the gentle warmth and bosom.
"Cheer up, Eugene," Chiffon spoke with a smile. "Look on the bright side, we did have plenty of fun this day, and... I'd really like it if we were to do this again."
Eugene spoke softly. "...I would like that very much."
Abel and Ticy would look at each other in silence, before glancing back to Eugene and Chiffon, with a quiet atmosphere settling in.
