A HAPPY NISCHA WEDDING!!!
Holy shit. I guess every wedding is meant to be stressful, but Noel and Mischa didn't think they'd be THIS stressful.
Planning started pretty much after Mischa proposed. A moment neither will forget, that's for sure. That very same night they spoke about plans. The venue, the outfit, the guests, everything. Of course, they didn't tell everyone immediately. They mainly kept it quiet. Exactly one week after the engagement, they told Noel's mom. They booked a flight to Saskatchewan and surprised her there.
---
Noel's mom opened the door after hearing the door bell, you could guess her surprise when she saw her son and son-in-law there.
"Oh my goodness Noel and Mischa?! I wasn't expecting to see you until Easter how are you!" She happily exclaimed, pulling the two men in for a hug.
"Hey Cassie! We have something very important to tell you" Mischa smiled
"Ooh, then I must let you in" she smiled, bringing the boys into the living room. It still hasn't changed no matter how long they'd lived there.
Eventually, they sat down in the living room, Cassie making cups of tea before sitting down opposite them.
"Please can you tell me what's going on! You've got me all excited!" Cassie smiles, taking a sip from her tea.
Noel (who was practically huddled next to his fiance) looked up and smiled, as he pulls out his hand to show his mother the ring.
"We're, uh, getting married" he smiles
"Oh my god! I'm so happy for you both! Honestly! I just- oh my god how can I react?!" She laughs, pulling them both in for a tight hug.
"I'm guessing it was very beautiful?" She asks Mischa
"Yeah, we moved into our apartment and I thought it wouldn't be a more perfect time. And I asked him. I mean, I have been planning it for around 6 months at that point and I just decided to do it. What's the point in waiting around when I already know exactly who I'm gonna propose to?" Mischa smiles, holding Noel's hand.
"I can't wait for you to officially be my son-in-law, I've always known it would happen" Cassie smiles, probably more happy, the only day that would top this would probably be her son's wedding.
---
And her son's wedding, was today. Noel and Mischa stayed in seperate hotels the night before the wedding, and Christ were they excited. They spent most of the night texting and calling, more excited than ever.
Noel woke up the next morning excited and got ready ridiculously early. He was actually enjoying the moment until he heard the sound of a familiar ginger outside.
"Noel? It's Ocean and Constance! Can we come in?" She said behind the door.
"Yes come in! Jesus!" Noel replied back.
"Sorry, Penny is still getting stuff from her room, we've got most of it though!" Constance said, holding about 3 bags whilst Ocean held outfits in both her arms as she pushed the door open.
"Do you have my suit at least?" Noel said, helping Ocean into the room.
"Yeah! I've also got your dress for the reception!" Ocean smiled, placing them slowly on the bed.
"I actually can't believe you're getting married! And to Mischa! I always knew you were perfect for each other!" Constance smiles, pulling out her own outfit and laying it on the bed.
"So sorry I'm late! I lost a makeup bag!" Penny said, walking through the door quickly, putting a mirror down on the desk and pulling a make-up bag out.
"It's honestly no trouble! I wonder what Mischa's doing" Noel said, starting to get ready.
- with Mischa -
Mischa sat in his room with Ricky. Having the time of his life with one of his best men. Actually, probably the best man he's closest with. Ricky, since high school, has barely changed. Apart from the fact he's become possibly the smartest person in the choir, working for NASA, helping with equations. Yet, he's still the funny guy from before.
"Honestly dude! I still can't believe how hammered you got at my bachelors party" Mischa laughed, pulling out a suit.
"Yeah! I can't believe you didn't get hammered! You drank so much! I thought you were gonna get alcohol poisoning" Ricky laughed whilst signing, before pulling out his suit.
"Are you kidding? I'm Ukrainian! I'm practically made of alcohol!" Mischa laughed back.
Suddenly, there's a knocking on the door before 3 men walk in. Friends from university, Cody, Luke and Jay.
"Yo Mischa! I bought your reception clothes where do you want it?" Like said, sitting down on the bed.
"On the door please!" Mischa said, before pulling something out of his pocket. Something his mother gave him before he left for Canada.
Open this on your wedding day
It read, in a neat cursive writing. A heart dotting the "I's". He quickly put it back in his pocket. He wasn't going to open it. Not yet. He felt himself tearing up. Wishing his mother could be here. As well, it is just an emotional day.
"Mischa, you ok?" Ricky signed, seeing Mischa upset.
"What? Yeah I'm fine, just, emotional day isn't it?" He smiles, wiping his eyes. And putting the letter into the front pocket of his suit.
"Alright, I'm gonna get dressed" Mischa said, picking up his suit and going into the bathroom to get dressed.
- with Noel -
Noel sat in his room, the girls got ready, by now Mary-Anne and Angelica had joined the room. Constance was in her dress and doing everyone's hair whilst Penny did make-up for everyone, Ocean was the one in charge of making sure Noel didn't get to nervous and lose his shit, Mary-Anne and Angelica were there to sort out the car and timings.
"Ok, and done!" Penny said, doing slight make-up for Noel. Just some highlight, mascara and a faint lip colour.
"I look gorgeous, thank you Penn" he smiles, giving her a hug, before standing up and grabbing his outfit.
"I'm going to get dressed! I won't be long!" He smiles, going and getting dressed in the bathroom.
"Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't lost it yet" Ocean laughed, getting her hair done.
"Oh please, it's his wedding day, I doubt he'll find a reason to lose it" Angelica laughs as she got her makeup done.
Noel walked out the bathroom, dressed in his suit and hair neatly gelled, he honestly couldn't look more perfect, and he made sure of it.
"Mary-Anne, when is the car getting here?" Noel asked, looking at the time.
"About 10 minutes! Don't worry, we have time!" She smiles, leaving to be the last girl to put on her dress.
---
Eventually, the car does come. A simple limo which was rented out for the day. At this point, Mischa was already at the venue as the guests started to arrive. The two kept their promise and didn't see each other. He eagerly put his head up once the indication for him to go down the aisle started. He smiled as Constance took his arm and walked him down.
"You look amazing" she whispered to Mischa.
"So do you" he smiled back.
Then his groomsmen walked down the aisle. Who were also the flower boys...
They kept a secret from the two how they were going to do it. God were they happy. Mischa has never laughed so much in his life, watching his best friends throw flower petals as Ricky wheeled down the aisle in sunglasses, chucking petals behind him.
"Oh my god" Mischa said to them as they walked past.
"It's what we do" Ricky signed, grabbing his crutches and standing with the other groomsmen.
Then the 'groomsmaids' walked down the aisle. Wearing red dresses and holding flowers. Not a hair out of place. Constance soon went and joined them.
By now Mischa was scared. He loved this man. He always will. And getting married is sorta a big deal. He looked up at the sky as the clouds parted and turned sunny. As if his mother was there to watch.
Then music started as everyone stood up.
Noel walked arm in arm with his mother. Who had her hair up in a beautiful bun, flowers poking out. But Mischa couldn't keep his eye off of his fiance- no. His husband.
Noel wore a black suit, contrasting Mischa's white one. He had a light pink flowers in his pocket, as well as a note. Presumably vows. Then, the officiant started speaking. A good friend of Noel's mother's, called Karnak or what ever it was.
"You look incredible" Noel whispered.
"Says you" Mischa smiled back.
"We are here today to see the wedding of Noel Gruber and Mischa Bachinski. Two boys who seemed to have made an impact on all of you. Whether you be friends" he looks at the people next to them on the aisle.
"Family" he said, making Noel's mom tear up, as Mischa looked at the empty chair which read Reserved for: Tamara Bachinski.
"Or just overall, a person who has been invited here. I want everyone here, to celebrate. Celebrate the marriage of these wonderful men, who's love, can not be described by many. Or by Ricky as 'beautifully disgusting" Karnak says, making everyone laugh slightly.
"Now, onto the vows. Noel, if you may" Karnak said, as Noel took out a piece of paper, shaking slightly.
"Sorry I'm nervous" he smiled, grabbing his fiance's hand before speaking again.
"Mischa, since the day you came in that one day in junior year, I knew you were going to be a special part of my life. Even when you were just 'the scary bad boy' across the room, I felt an attraction to you which could not be dismissed.
When we shared our first kiss, I knew from that day forward you would be the man I spent the rest of my life with. When you first told me you were going to marry me some day, I smiled, thinking about how long away that seemed.
Now that I'm here, doing it, I cannot be more grateful at the fact I'm here with you. This very real moment, that will secure my love for you, forever." Noel finished, breathing quickly. He took a look at the guests and saw his mother crying, who gave him a thumbs up upon noticing him. He looked back at Mischa. Now shaking a lot less.
Mischa looked at Noel and smiled, a tear daring to slide slowly down his cheek, before he pulled out his own vows.
"My poet, since the day we met I knew something was special about you from anyone else. I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with you, some way or another. I knew I would be with you, for as long as eternity would let us.
When you first showed me your poems, I remember how excited you were that I showed interest. And yet, my interest has still not gone away. All the poems and the words you tell me, have me loving you more and more.
When I proposed, I knew I was never going to regret it. That you will always be here. And I was right. My poet I love you. я люблю тебе назавжди. Мій єдиний поет. (i love you forever and ever, my poet)" Mischa finished.
"Now, is there any reason this couple should not get married? Speak now or forever hold your peace." Karnak said, looking around and seeing no one objecting, before turning to Noel.
"Noel, do you take this man to be your husband?"
"I do"
"And Mischa, do you take this man, to be your husband?"
"I do"
"And in the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and husband. You may now kiss the groom"
The two men held each other tight, kissing passionately as the guests watched on. Some crying, some cheering. All in all, everyone was clapping.
Noel and Mischa walked back down the aisle hand in hand, raising it in triumph, as they walked down the aisle and walked back into a car, getting ready for the reception.
Noel quickly got changed in the car as he got ready for the reception.
"I can't believe we're husbands" Mischa smiled, speaking in utter disbelief.
"I know right" Noel said, also shocked as he pulled a dress on, a black, floor length dress, with a white bow at the waist.
"Well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it" Mischa smiles, pulling Noel in for a kiss. "Love the dress by the way, it reminds me of Monique" Mischa said, looking Noel up and down.
"Thanks, I try" Noel laughed as they reached the reception venue.
The reception itself was practically a party. Playing music from both Noel and Mischa's playlist. Which obviously, made the emotions go up and down during the party. Then, during the party, Mischa asked Noel to meet outside. Alone.
---
Once Mischa pulled him outside, he opened the long sealed letter which his mother left him with. He cried as he read more and more words. Noel obviously questioned what was going on, so he read it with him, Mischa reading some parts aloud to translate.
In the end, they were sobbing into each other's arms. Glad to have each other for comfort.
The letter read:
My dearest Mischa,
I am ever so sorry I can not be here for you on this very special day. I want you to know that I will find a way to be there. You may not see me, but you shall know I am there.
I am sure the person you marry will mean a lot to you. And she/he will be the most perfect person in the world. One who would most definitely make me proud.
I want you to know I'm proud of you. No matter how old you are when you read this, you will forever be my little boy. I'm sure you'll grow and realize why I had to send you away. And I'm sure you're upset with me for leaving you. Yet, I hope you're happy. I hope you know I'm proud of you. I always will be.
I am forever looking down on you, making sure you are okay. i am probably looking down on you right now as you read this letter, and hopefully your wife/husband is there with you. Making you feel like the best person alive.
I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding. I tried very hard, yet the battle was too hard to push through. It's a battle I'm slowly losing, and have most definitely lost by the time you read this. Yet, you'll never leave my mind, and I need you to know that.
I love you, my darling, my sweetest Mischa. I'm proud of you. And I'm watching from above, hoping that you know.
Sending all my love I can,
Mom.
