Five times Mischa mentioned marriage + the one time he proposed
The first time
Noel and Mischa had been going out for a good two years. Mischa joined at the start of sophomore year and they started dating a few months later. The two were now seniors, ready to graduate in just two months. The two were lucky enough that they were going to the same college, one far, far away from Uranium. However, the whole ordeal was stressing both of them out, which is why Mischa proposed a movie date. Just the two of them, in Mischa's room in the basement.
They sat on Mischa's bed, cuddling together as they watched Mischa's favorite movie, Saw VI. Well, he thought it was Saw V but was assured he was talking about Saw VI. Noel definitely did not like the movie. Most scary movies weren't bad, it's the gory ones, however, he couldn't let Mischa pass on his favorite movie, he just dug his face into his boyfriends shoulder if it got too much. Yes, this meant that most of the movie was spent in the nook of Mischa's shoulder.
Mischa noticed Noel wasn't liking the movie, which is why, after it finished, they just decided to talk, about anything. Graduation, the future, college, being room mates, the choir, and anything else they could think of.
"Mischa I really want to have a future with you." Noel's admitted, before planting a kiss on his boyfriend's lips.
"My poet, I would love nothing more" Mischa said, Noel's face heating up immensely, he'll always love being Mischa's poet.
"What would we even do in the future? Will we live together?" Noel asked, squeezing Mischa's hand.
"Noel, in the future I wish to marry you" Mischa admitted, followed by a pause as Noel smiled a big, stupid grin.
"Mischa, I would love nothing more. Just not right now" Noel laughed.
"Yeah, obviously not right now, but, my poet you must understand I wish to spend my life with you, and anything less would make me weep for years on end. I love you, I can't imagine having to find another poet" Mischa admitted, before leaning in and kissing his boyfriend softly, feeling the smile as he deepened the kiss.
"I love you so much" Noel whispered, breaking the kiss just to say it, before he leaned in, now it was Mischa's turn to smile like an idiot into the kiss.
The night ended as they eventually stopped making out and fell on top of each other and fell asleep, wrapped up into each other's arms. Never wanting to let go.

The second time
The morning the day after graduation was a mess. The two were hungover, fully clothed and, somehow, waking up in Constance's bathtub.
"Jesus Christ, Mischa what happened last night, where's my tie?" Noel asked, rummaging through the medicine cabinet to find something to help with his hangover.
"My poet, I think we graduated." Mischa said, recounting the day before.
"Yeah, thanks Sherlock, I couldn't tell from the cap and gown on the floor, just, you have a higher alcohol tolerance. Can you remember anything from the party?"
The party the night before was a bit different. It was just meant to be a hangout at the Blackwood residence, however, most of the seniors seemed to ask Constance if they could have a graduation party as she had the biggest house. Unfortunately, Constance couldn't say no, she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
The house was already a calamitous by the time Mischa and Noel arrived, kids making out on the couch, Ocean and Constance trying to keep kids from smoking in her brothers room as Penny was drunk and Ricky was trying to stop her from doing stupid shit.
The two walked into the kitchen, stepping over a pile of puke as they grabbed a drink off the side. Noel pretty much immediately spitting it out.
"God Mischa, how do you drink vodka so often?! That was awful!" Noel laughed, wiping his mouth, swallowing the small amount of liquid he couldn't actually spit out.
"You get used to it!" Mischa said, before getting down to Noel's level.
"My poet, this is going to be the greatest night of your life." Mischa promised before he got Noel another shot, this time, he did drink it, making a face as it burnt his throat. However, over the course of the night, Noel and Mischa became more and more drunk. Noel obviously had a lower alcohol tolerance than Mischa, meaning he got drunk a lot quicker.
The two drunk boys sat in the corner of the backyard, Mischa smoking as Noel just sat next to him, holding his hand, this is when Mischa found out Noel was a cryer when he was drunk. He was just rambling on about something or another as Mischa smoked, giving him words of advice every once in a while.
That is, until Noel threw up everywhere.
"Jesus Christ poet!" Mischa shouted, shoving his cigarette onto the floor and stumping it before grabbing onto his boyfriend and directing the puke into a bush.
"I'm sorry!" Noel apologized, still crying, before puking again.
"My poet, please do no apologize, just, puke over there" Mischa said, rubbing Noel's back whilst holding his bangs from his face.
Eventually, Noel did stop as the two walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind them. Mischa rummaged through all the medicine cabinets, finding Advil, before grabbing a glass of water and giving it to Noel. They both sat on the side of the bath tub for a good two hours. The sound of people slowing leaving filled the emptiness of the bathroom.
Eventually, the two were still heavily drunk, but a little less likely to throw up. They sat in the bath tub, now finding lying down easier than sitting up.
"Mischa you know I'm like, super in love with you" Noel slurred.
"Of course I do my poet, I wish to marry you some day" Mischa said, grabbing Noel's hand.
"You do?" Noel asked, crying again.
"Yes, of course my poet, please do not cry!" Mischa said, hugging Noel. Eventually, somehow, they fell asleep, in the bathtub
"Ohhh" Noel said as he recalled the events from the night before, feeling a little less hungover.
"Poet, I might have been drunk but I meant every word I said." Mischa said, holding Noel's hand.
"You were serious about wanting to marry me some day?" Noel asked, blushing.
"Of course!"

The third time
Moving into the college dorms was one of the most freeing experiences of Noel's life. Sure, he missed his mother dearly, but he could still visit. He was more than happy to get out of 'the shit stain of Canada' aka, Uranium.
Mischa an Noel placed their final boxes in their room, before just taking a minute. Just to look at it. It was officially there's. They were out of that hell hole. Hopefully forever.
Mischa Pulled Noel close and kissed him lightly, taking a moment to admire the features he's seen a million times over. The slight freckles, the small blush in his cheek at any touch, the glisten in his eyes, the slight rouge he seems to permanently have on his lips, the mascara that smudges when they kiss, the way his hair sits on his forehead. Everything.
They were each other's roommates (thank god, they didn't wanna share with anyone else) well, 'roommates' in this context meant both of what people think.
They unpacked their things and pushed their beds together, putting both desks on the side and pulling the tv to face the beds. The room was set up to their liking and the only thing they had fought about was which side of the closet was whose. That's when they got a knock on the door.
Mischa answered the door and there stood a sweet looking girl, probably the same age as them, holding a small card.
"Hi! I'm Mary-Anne and I'm the leader of this floor! I'm just coming around and giving everyone my number, there is a map on the back of it, call me if you're ever in trouble! Oh and what are your names so I can note it down?" Mary-Anne said, being a bit too polite. The two couldn't complain, she was just doing what she was asked.
"Mischa Bachinski and he is Noel Gruber" Mischa said, Noel giving a polite wave back, to which Mary-Anne nodded and wrote it down on her clip board, before she handed Mischa the card and she left, giving the exact same speech to the room next door.
The two just looked at each other and added the number to their phones before they layed down next to each other, cuddling as they just scrolled on their phones, enjoying the silence. Until they got a text from the number they had just added.

The two boys looked at each other and immediately shook their heads before laughing.
"Come on, remember graduation? I'm not getting drunk for a long time" Noel laughed, digging his head into Mischa's chest.
"My poet how could I not forget graduation! We woke up in bath tub" Mischa laughed, jokingly ruffling Noel's hair before he went back to being on his phone.
They stayed like this for hours, just laughing and stupid shit they would send each other every once in a while, until they got another knock on the door.
This time, Noel answered the door.
"Oh! Hello, last time your uh, friend, answered the door. So, as you remember I'm Mary-Anne, this is Angelica! We're just coming around to let everyone know the club is opening and if you want to come down you can!" Mary-Anne said, again, a bit too politely. Angelica gave an awkward wave to Noel. Mischa tried to stifle his laugh at the word 'friend'.
"Oh thanks!" Noel said, trying to be polite.
"Do you need the address?" Angelica asked
"Oh no thanks, I don't think we're gonna go" Mischa said from just out of eye sight of the girls.
"Oh! Well, clubbing isn't for everyone, thanks for your time!" Angelica responded, before walking off.
"Love the dresses by the way!" Noel complimented, the girls laughed and let out a thank you before Noel shut the door.
"They seem nice" Mischa says, allowing Noel back into his arms.
"Yeah, almost too nice" Noel jokes.
Before long, they heard pretty much the whole hall go past them as they all were going down to the club, they could hear the heels on the floor and all the guys talking about how to sneak in the endless amounts of weed they bought.
As soon as they were certain they were the only ones on their hall (quite literally, they knocked on every door) they went back into their room and just cuddled. Praying no one would knock on the door.
"я люблю тебе, мій поете i love you, my poet" Mischa whispered, making Noel's hair stand on end. He may not know Ukrainian, but he'll forever know what that sentence means.
"je t'aime aussi mon amour i love you too, my love" Noel whispered, now it was Mischa's turn to blush.
Mischa grabbed Noel's chin as he pulled him in for a kiss, before deepening it. Noel smiled as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend as he dug his hands into the Ukrainian's hair. Unfortunately, they got interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Jesus Christ, every time" Noel said, opening the door.
Noel opened the door and saw Angelica, standing there, holding a clip board. Rather awkwardly. How long had she been there?
"Hi Noel! I'm sure we met before, me and Mary-Anne are just going around and giving everyone addresses to all the food spots and hangout spots around campus. I'm sorry if I interrupted anything!" Angelica awkwardly coughed, seeing Mischa behind the door, still slightly frazzled.
"Um, yeah thanks Angelica" Noel said, giving an awkward nod before shutting the door.
The two boys sat on the bed next time each other, Mischa resting his head on Noel's shoulder, letting Noel run his fingers through his hair.
"I love you so much, you know that right?" Noel whispered, making Mischa blush yet again.
"I love you so much my poet, I can no find words to describe it. I wish to marry you some day" Mischa whispered, wrapping his arms around Noel.
"Yeah, I would love that too" Noel whispered back, rubbing his arms along Mischa's.

The fourth time
The two were now graduating college, now they weren't gonna go to any parties (they learnt their lesson from last time), they had been to a few parties in their time at college, but it just wasn't for them. That's why they are just going to an after dinner with their friends, not the actual party.
The two had actually made quite a few friends in their college years. They finally made friends with Mary-Anne and Angelica, as well as their friends, as well as a few people on their floor. So, at the meal there were a good 20 people.
The group all sit around, laughing stock stories over the last few years. Mischa couldn't help but get emotional, he was never going to see these people as much as he does today. Well, apart from the choir. They were all still friends.
"Did you guys know that Angelica was actually the first one to find out we were together?" Mischa said, watching Angelica cover her head in shame, remembering the moment vividly.
"So, remember first day. Everyone went to that shitty club in town? So we thought we were alone because no one was on the floor. Well, me and Noel were having, you know, alone time, and she knocked on the door, and it turned out she had been standing there for a good five minutes, waiting for us to stop making out" Mischa laughed, to which the table laughed loudly.
"Jesus Christ Mischa! At least I waited before knocking" Angelica defended herself, to which everyone laughed even more.
"Club night? As in the night where Cody fell into a trash can before trying to kiss a raccoon?" Another guy, Luke, laughed.
"Oh god not that" Cody laughed.
Noel and Mischa held hands the entire night, to which Ricky mimed gagging as Penny laughed and mimed the word "stop!".
The rest of the night was spent laughing at anything and everything. They eventually payed and left, the others going to the after party as Noel and Mischa went back to their hotel. They took the cap and gowns off and displayed them proudly on the bathroom door as they got changed into some pajamas.
Noel sat down, scrolling through apartments to rent.
"How about this one? 550 dollars a month, that's, not too bad actually" Noel says, to which Mischa nods in agreement.
"Talk to seller, we might be able to buy it" Mischa says, going back to his phone. What Noel didn't know, was he was also looking for something to buy. A ring.
"Poet I'm going to marry you some day" Mischa says quietly.
"I can't wait" Noel says, smiling widely.
---
The fifth time
Moving into your own apartment was always stressful. Noel and Mischa had been up since two am making sure the things they had packed months ago were definitely still packed and hadn't grown legs or shit like that.
The apartment was empty when they got there, the neighbors were arguing and the upstairs neighbors were doing god knows what. But it was there's. Their home.
The first thing they did was put their degrees on display. Then, they put pictures on the wall. Then, they got their bedroom ready. The one place. Noel hung fairy lights along the headboard as Mischa set up his music stuff. Mischa carefully tapped his pocket every once in a while. Not letting Noel what was in it.
Then, they decorated the lounge. They didn't have a tv yet, so Noel proudly displayed his laptop in place, playing music as they learnt how to build a couch.
"Where's the allan key?" Mischa asked
"I've been holding it for the last 5 minutes" Noel laughed before handing Mischa the tool.
The couch was set up in around an hour and 30 minutes. Safe to say, both boys were exhausted, so, they ordered takeout and sat on the couch, hugged up together as if the other would drift away if they let go.
The takeout arrived and they sat on the couch whilst eating, Noel was rambling about the recent poem he read as Mischa listened intently. He actually didn't have half a clue about what he was going on about, but he listened. He will always love watching Noel talk about something he was excited about.
They finished their food and put it in the trash as they stood up in the hallway admiring their house. It was theirs. Mischa wrapped his arms around Noel's waist. Watching him get flustered before planting a small kiss on his lips and swaying him back and forth. Dancing to imaginary music.
Noel leaned into the hug as Mischa hummed a song. They stood there quietly.
"I'm gonna marry you some day poet" Mischa whispered.
"I hope so" Noel said.
"Actually.."
---
The real thing.
"what? What is it Misch?" Noel asked.
Mischa realized how nerve wracking this really is, as he got down on one knee. Noel immediately covered his face in shock, seeing the ring in the box. A beautiful diamond, surrounded by sapphires and some emeralds.
"My poet. Since I saw you, you made me happiest man in existence. You were there for my highs and lows, my rap, my weird fazes, the cyclone, my mother. Everything. You make me the proudest man on earth when I get to let everyone know, shout it from the rooftops, that you are my poet. And I wish to make you officially my poet, forever.
Noel, will you marry me?" Mischa asked, the ring box shaking as he couldn't believe he was actually doing this.
Noel nodded violently, barely able to get any words out.
"Yes! Of course! Yes!" Noel said, tears of joy appearing in his eyes as Mischa pulled the ring out of the box and slid it onto Noel's finger. Pulling him into a kiss.
"I love you" Mischa whispered.
"I love you too" Noel replied. He will love forever being his Poet
