So many things that in just dont know
After choir was over and Ocean packed everything away, they went back to Ocean's, trying to figure out what they should do.
"I mean, like loads of my stuff is here, some is at Ricky's but a load of stuff from when I was little was at my house and I don't know where my mom would have put it" Penny said, playing with Ocean's hair.
"I guess we could sneak back in, they weren't there right? And you still have a key, I'm pretty sure you have like a day notice before they change a lock in a non emergency" Ocean planned, and before long, they were walking down the street, ready to do anything to get Penny's stuff back.
One problem, they had actually managed to change the lock, so now Penny's key was completely worthless to them. Thats when they started trying every window in the house before they found one that was open.
"I don't think this is a good idea, what if someone calls the police?" Ocean asked, relatively nervous.
"Relax! It's my house too, and, im still 17, so I can get my parents arrested if they do call the police, are you coming or what?" Penny respond, putting out her hand to pull Ocean in.
Ocean reluctantly took her girlfriend's hand and claimed in. The house is actually huge, but she knew where she was going.
They found Penny's room, empty, the only thing left was her bed, just the frame, no mattress, no sheets, nothing. Just a vast emptiness of a once lived in room.
Penny almost cried, the room she grew up in was gone. She was told she was on her last straw when her parents found out her and Ocean were dating, now, they took everything. All of this; over a detention?
It doesn't make sense. He parents raised her to be a good person, why couldn't they do the same?
Penny and Ocean ransacked the house trying to find her stuff. At least one thing. But, nothing. Until they looked in the backyard.
They looked under the tarp and found a black trash bag, seemingly filled to the brim. Penny jumped in and trapped it. She practically ripped it open and she saw everything. Her childhood teddies, the paintings that were stripped off the wall, the rest of her clothes from her closet, her bedsheets, her rug, all the shells and crystals she had collected from the years. All sitting there, drenched.
Penny just cried again. Her life was in a trash bag, some of it ruined, some of it needed a wash.
Ocean closed the bag back up and hugged Penny tightly, never dreaming of letting go. Penny just cried and cried until a tear could no longer be shed.
Ocean picked the back up and threw it over the fence, before Penny gave her a leg up to get out, then Penny herself climbed out. They ran away from the house as fast as they possibly could, hoping no one saw them.
They arrived back to Ocean's, the weed smell in the air feeling particularly stronger, that meant Ocean's parents were super high and probably won't know Penny in there.
Ocean dumped all of the items in the bathtub, before filtering through the items to see which ones they could salvage and which ones were ruined. Penny was at least happy that not much was fully ruined. She was sad at the stuff that was ruined of course, but most of the stuff she had forgotten. She was just happy that her old teddies were ok, especially her favorite doll. It was beautifully porcelain, every detail intricately placed, she used to just spend time admiring it, she never played with it. It sat on her shelf, and now it shall sit on Ocean's.
They walked back into the room and kept the bag by the window to dry. Penny was still crying a little. Who wouldn't? She has just been kicked out, he stuff has been ruined and overall, it's been such a shitty day.
They layed on Ocean's bed, hugging for God knows how long, not talking, not playing with each other's hair, just hugging. Penny needs some type of affection so bad right now, and Ocean is willing to understand it.
"Thank you Ocean, for like everything" Penny whispered.
"You're welcome, I really love you Penny" Ocean whispered
"I love you too, you don't even get it, you've done so much for me today. You broke the law for, thats like the most Un-Ocean thing ever, you stayed with me through a panic attack and left choir, you let sit out of choir even though you practically beg do. You are such a cool person around me it's insane, do you understand how happy I was when you asked me out? I cried for days I was so happy. You are single handedly the best person I've met, and even if it takes me getting kicked out to make us closer that ever, I would get kicked out a million times over." Penny rambled, all in one breath.
They sat there again, enjoying the silence again. Penny meant every word she said. She needed Ocean to know she was her whole world. Ocean knew of course, but she let Penny ramble. She loves her voice so much, it's angelic. Like bubble wrap, she always wants to hear it.
They didn't even realize they fell asleep. Ocean woke up first at sunrise. She was so happy it was a weekend, it meant her parents wouldn't be here, and she could take Penny somewhere.
So much had happened in the last 24 hours however, she thinks they just need some rest. So, Ocean fell back asleep, holding Penny close, as if she would drift away. She broke the law for this girl. She was so head over heels it's insane. She looked at the promise rings she bought and carefully slid one onto Penny's finger, before she slid back asleep.
