Bucky is de-aged by magic or science to his early or mid thirties during an adventure. They work together on a mission, and Bucky bonds with Dick, as well. Stevie and Bucky have some great friendship moments, and he gives her advice about where she is and where she's going.
Near the end, Bucky is back to his original age, and he's also dying. Bucky asks Dick to look after Stevie. Stevie is by his side in his final moments. Stevie misses her best friend, but she'll always carry his memory with her, and honor her best friend by living her best life and staying true to herself and her beliefs.
