"Tohru, do you know her?" Danny questioned.
"Yeah, she's a younger dragon, though I wonder what she's doing here though?" Tohru answered, before looking at Kanna.
"I was sent to this world as a punishment for a prank by my father to think over my actions alone," Kanna replied.
Danny widened his eyes, and swiveled his head to look at Kanna in surprise saying, "wait, as punishment for a prank, your father sent you to another world, without any kind of adult supervision?"
"Danny, dragons raise their children differently to humans, I and a few other are exceptions to the rule that dragons are raised until they are five hundred years old, before they are sent off into the world to find their own way, my parents raised me until I was about a thousand four hundred fifty years old, Kanna is about nine hundred years old, give or take a couple dozen years, and with how strong dragons are in general from our world, most older dragons don't see the need to keep a close eye on the younger ones unless they are less than a hundred years old," Tohru explained, though judging by the frown on her face she didn't like it any more than he did.
"Lady Tohru, please take us back to our world," Kanna pleaded, and though her face was blank, Danny could FEEL the want to go home in her eyes.
"I'm sorry Kanna, but I don't want to go back, there wasn't much there for me," Tohru said before leaning down and cupping her hands around one of Kannas' ears and her mouth whispering, "and I'm in love with Danny here, so going back to our original world is not in the plans for a very long time, plus they have some really tasty food here."
Kanna crossed her arms and leaned her head down in thought, one hand she could go home and not have to deal with the mana of this world, with purity so low she can't use the majority of her magical abilities, but on the other she can be with Tohru in this world, and have tasty food.
"Can I live with you Tohru?" Kanna asked, her eyes getting teary.
"Danny, can Kanna live with us?" Tohru asked, turning her head towards the fourteen-year-old.
"Let me call my mom and dad, though I doubt they'll say no to this situation," Danny replied, taking out his phone and walking a bit away.
After a couple of rings his parents picked up.
"Danny, why are you calling, did something happen?" his mother asked, and judging from the sounds was trying to put her phone on an air vent mount.
"Hey, Maddie, Danny, Jazzy-pants, sorry if I sound far away, I'm cleaning up a... mess that your mom and I made in the lab last night," Jack said, sounding flustered.
Fighting the urge to retch at the thought of his parents doing THAT, Danny went on with his question, "mom, dad, while I was giving Tohru a tour around town, we met up with another dragon, though this one is just a little girl, her name is Kanna, she was sent here by her parents to think over her actions, alone, can we take her in?"
"Wait, really?" Jazz's voice came in, sounding surprised, though Danny didn't blame her, after all two dragons in one day? One would surprise anyone in this world, let alone two.
"Yeah," Danny responded, looking at Kanna and Tohru, seeing them smiling and chatting, "I think that it would be good for the both of them, though we will have to get Kanna some more clothes as well, and get her registered for school."
"Well, if she's just a little girl then sure we can take her in, make sure to use the reloadable card I gave you Danny, now I got to hang up, there are some dangerous chemicals that are starting to eat through the steel floor of the lab, and we don't need that getting to the foundation, thank goodness you talked me into making the flooring pretty thick Maddie, give me more of the details later, bye," and with that Jack hung up.
"Why was she grounded and sent to our world Danny?" Jazz asked.
"It was because of a prank she pulled, don't know what kind of prank it was, but sending her alone to another world is too much of a punishment no matter what the prank was," Danny stated with a frown.
"A PRANK?! SHE WAS SENT TO ANOTHER WORLD BECAUSE OF A PRANK! WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS WRONG WITH HER PARENTS?!" His mother roared, forcing him to move his phone from his ear as far away, as he could.
"I don't know, but she seems like a good kid, how about we talk more about this when you two get back, in the meantime Tohru and I will continue the tour with Kanna, and then we'll take it from there," Danny said.
"Fine, but we will have to figure out what to do with all the legal stuff regarding Kanna and Tohru when we get back (1), because I don't think the government will take the excuse of them both runaways from a cult or something, well bye sweetie, see you when Jazz and I get back on Monday!" Maddie said with a sigh before getting (though noticeably forced) cheery towards the end.
(With Tohru and Kanna while Danny was talking with his parents)
"Lady Tohru, how did that boy get you to love him?" Kanna asked, quite curious.
"Well, after fleeing to this world when I was mortally wounded with that godly weapon still in my body, he came upon the clearing I was in, drunk at the time, and pulled that accursed sword out of me, allowing me to heal," Tohru explained, "and after that we started to drink and talk then he hired me to work for him and his family as a maid."
"What's a maid lady Tohru?" Kanna questioned.
"Basically, a female servant that gets paid for her work, but a human I talked to before my battle with the gods made it seem intriguing, especially when she talked about falling in love with her master and how it would be her choice," Tohru answered, though Kanna noted that she seemed to focus more on the part about how it would be her choice.
"Okay Tohru, Kanna, Mom and Dad are all right with it, in fact they want you to stay with us Kanna, so I'll show you and Tohru around town, and I have the perfect place for us to go to first, Amity Park Mall," Danny said, walking back up to them.
"What's a mall Danny?" Tohru questioned.
"Think of it like a bazaar, only in an enclosed space, the prices for most things being sold are fixed, and each and every floor has a at least fifteen different stores, although most malls only have two floors," Danny explained, getting an "oh" from Tohru.
"Now it is a little far away so let's get going," the only male of the group said, beginning to walk.
(Forty-five minutes later)
"Well, here we are the Amity Park Mall, the best shopping location for all overpriced goods, such as games, clothes, cheap novelty stuff you can buy for half-price online, and all the delicious mall food you can find for the next seventy-five miles," Danny announced, before turning around and seeing that while Kanna had a look of amazement, Tohru looked rather reluctant to even go near the building.
"What's wrong Tohru?" he asked.
"It looks like the keep of a castle that a rather bothersome king that repeatedly tried to kill me lived in," Tohru replied.
"Well, I can safely say that the only people that would ever bother you here are people that want you to do a survey, try to sell you something, or will bug you for dates," Danny reassured, putting a hand on her shoulder, "now come on let's get a tour of the inside."
(Inside Amity Park Mall)
"Now, on the first floor we have a bowling alley, an arcade, a karate dojo, and several small restaurants, themed for Indian, Spanish (2), and German foods, a theater, and two moderately sized clothing stores that have overpriced clothes that only feature the brand name on the front, or going down the side of either your sleeves, or pant legs," Danny Explained, pointing out the stores as they went to, and up an escalator.
"Danny, what's a bowling alley, and an arcade?" Tohru questioned.
"A bowling alley is a place where you play an inside sport called bowling, it's the only sport I really tolerate that Dash also plays, though he and I have an agreement that if either of us are there when the other comes in to play, we just ignore each other. An arcade on the other hand is where you go to play video games, for at minimum a dollar a play," the sole male of the group explained further, before Kanna spoke up.
"GAMES, CAN WE PLAY DANNY?!" Kanna aggressively questioned.
"Maybe for an hour at the end of the mall tour, we still got two floors to go," Danny agreed leading them to the second floor, "then after that we can go see a movie."
"Now on the second floor we have three different video game stores, two souvenir stores, a pawn shop, and a Mongolian themed restaurant," Danny went on.
"Three different stores, are these video games that popular Danny?" Tohru asked.
"Yes and no, one of these stores is actually from a large company that will more than likely shut down the majority of its locations within the decade due to their poor customer service, and pushing of membership cards to those that don't want it, or don't understand it if they are elderly," Danny elucidated with Tohru nodding along, "whereas the other is technically more of pawn shop, but they deal exclusively in video games and video game memorabilia."
"Now the third and final floor has one more souvenir store, a small bookstore, a Tex-Mex restaurant, a music store that also offers classes for people wanting to learn how to play instruments, and a game store that sells tabletop, card, and board games instead of video games," Danny finished.
"Now come on, we've got an hour of gaming, a few more stops, then we'll introduce you to my dad Kanna," Danny urged.
So, after an hour of arcade gaming (and winning Kanna a cute plush of a feathery dragon, and getting two sets pictures, one with Kanna, and one with Tohru) the tour went on, with Danny showing Tohru and Kanna the town square, the main grocery store (and going out of his way to show Tohru the local Farmers' Market when Tohru asked for a different place to shop for food because the grocery store also looked like a castle keep, though he did tell her that the grocery store had the better food), a park where Danny told Kanna she could make some friends when not in school, Casper High School, though on the way to the Nasty Burger they came across a construction site where they met a rather odd fellow.
"Danny, why are we going to a place called 'Nasty Burger', wouldn't it make more sense to not go to a place called nasty?" Tohru inquired, rather disturbed that a place with 'nasty' in its' name was the favorite restaurant of the one she loved.
"Don't worry Tohru, the food is actually really good, and despite what Sam says, the food is actually one hundred percent real meat, potatoes, and other vegetables, it's actually the food preparation and cooking process that make it less than perfectly healthy, and trust me you'll love it," Danny tried to assuage her.
"Why is it called 'Nasty Burger' anyways?" Tohru asked.
"Well, it was actually called 'Tasty Burger' at first but people vandalized the sign and the owner actually liked the irony and had the sign officially changed, though not without having the person who vandalized it caught," he explained.
When Tohru was about to respond a slightly loud and rather rough, yet rather refined voice with an Italian accent called out to them.
"Oi, if you are wanting good food that is healthy, filling, and tasty, then come on in and try my restaurant, Caverne scavate (3), an authentic Italian restaurant that has a cavern theme, and after your done eating feel free to take a tour through our handmade caverns, where we teach you the approximate history of metal, jewels, and their use in society," a rather short, and stout individual said, he had a large nose, large ears, neatly made brick red hair, arms that went down to his knees, and lastly a large full beard that went to the top of his chest that had gold and silver rings interlaced in it, each of them having a jewel of some kind, an emerald here, a sapphire here, or a topaz there.
"Uh, thanks mister?" Danny questioned, wanting to know the strange looking man's name.
"Orsik Glintbeard, philanthropist, world traveler, and opener of fine restaurants such as this, moved to this fine town from Italy about fifteen years ago, but what I want to know is, what are two dragons from the chaos faction doing here in this world?" the man introduced himself with a flourish, before getting serious and asking a question that put Danny on edge.
"W-w-what, sorry no dragons here, I'm pretty sure that those only exist in fairy tales," Danny said, pulling at the collar of his shirt while sweating.
"Laddie, you have the worst poker face I've seen this side of Mount Vesuvius, you really need to work on that," Orsik said with a chuckle," but I know what the magic of a dragon feels like, though I will say, I never imagined that I would meet the Chaos Factions' very own Princess of Destruction and the Kamui heiress, so why don't you just come inside, and we can discuss exactly why they're here in this world, and how we can prevent non-magical government employees who were born in this world from discovering them, and you can have some free food while we discuss how you three met," Orsik said, gesturing them to follow him into his restaurant through what looked like a cave entrance.
"Don't worry Danny, if this is a trap then I'll get us out of it easily before killing everyone who had a part in it!" Tohru exclaimed, putting a hand on his shoulder while flexing her other arm.
Danny only gave a weak chuckle in response, before following Orsik.
(Inside Caverne Scavate)
"So, how exactly do you know that Tohru and Kanna are dragons, and that they are from a different world?" Danny questioned nervously, looking around the rather spacious restaurant, noting that there were only a few customers despite it being the time that most places would let out for lunch.
"Well laddie, I'm from the same world as them, but if you want to know what race I am, I'm a Dwarf, and you don't have to worry, most Dwarves like Lady Tohru here, all thanks to the fact that she torched an Elven battalion that was encroaching on the Dwarven Kingdom, though she apparently didn't know and only did so because they were loud enough to wake her up, and most Dwarves would not dare to dream to lay a hand on a child, no matter how old said child is and what race they're from, so, please tell me the tale of how you three met," the apparent dwarf pushed.
"Well, it started last night when a shipment of alcoholic soda my dad ordered came in, though he didn't know it was alcoholic at the time, and me getting drunker than ten step-dads after a couple of cups of the stuff..." Danny began the Tale of how he and Tohru met.
(24 minutes later)
"Laddie, you are incredibly lucky, if most people tried to hug a dragon while four sheets to the wind, they'd be lucky to come out only missing a single limb, especially if they happen upon any that are from the chaos faction," Orsik said with a chuckle, eating a Fiorentina steak, with Danny and Tohru having gotten spaghetti, and Kanna getting not only a Fiorentina steak, but also a polenta and some ossobuco (4), surprising Danny at how much Kanna ordered, before Tohru told him that it was because dragons that had element orientated magic like Kanna tended to eat more if they were low on magical energy.
"I guess so," Danny said, "I've been meaning to ask, what's with this whole thing about the chaos faction, can you please explain it to me?" Danny asked.
"Eh, sure why not, better for you to know what you'd be getting into from a more unbiased source," Orsik acquiesced with a shrug.
"Well first thing you need to know is that there are three factions when it comes to the dragons, the Harmony Faction, the Spectating Faction, and the Chaos Faction," Orsik began, "and to make a rather long story short, in the beginning all the dragons were basically living in peace, some disputes here and there but for the most part in peace, though that all changed when gods started coming to the continent they lived on, now the dragons were rather prideful, while they could stand beings around the same general level of power as them being on the same landmass, when the gods began demanding them to submit to their rule a war broke out, and after many tens of thousands of years the dragons split into the three separate factions I told you about, the Chaos Faction wanted to continue the war with the gods', the Harmony Faction who were tired of fighting and, after some rather fine finagling in some meetings, agreed to live in peace with the gods so long as they weren't forced into submission and could live their lives however they feel, and finally Spectating Faction, who like the Harmony Faction, were tired of fighting, though they decided to not take part in the civil war taking place between the Chaos Faction and Harmony Faction."
"Huh, so I'm guessing that not all dragons from the Chaos or Harmony factions are villains and heroes? Danny asked, since Tohru was not an evil dragon from what he could tell.
"Aye, your spot-on laddie, some dragons from the Harmony Faction require live sacrifices from villages under their "protection", and not all dragons from the Chaos Faction genuinely hate non-dragons, that mostly being the younger ones such as the Kamui heiress here, but let's talk government business," Orsik said, noting Danny sitting up straighter at the mention of the government.
"Now, as you know officially, Lady Tohru and the Kamui heiress here don't exist to the government, but I have friends in high places here, so I just need a picture of these two and that can get taken care of ASAP, then after that what happens is up to you, your family, and these two, also, Lady Tohru, I suggest you not do what you did earlier today to the clouds, lest you want unwanted attention on you and your new friends," Orsik told them, looking at a sheepish Tohru for the last bit before continuing, "anyway Mr. Fenton, expect some mail in about a week or two, now enjoy the rest of your meal and have a good day."
With that, Orsik got off his chair and walked away, leaving a contemplative Danny wondering exactly how many people from Tohru and Kanna's world were here, and how many of them were in the government, before deciding that those were thoughts for another day.
(45 minutes later, at the Fenton household)
After walking home with Kanna and Tohru, and showing Tohru the Nasty Burger, Danny was ready to call it a day and tell his parents and sister about his meeting with Orsik.
"Well, here we are Kanna, home sweet home, don't mind any explosions that's more than likely something he was making, he usually gets out of it with some scratches and bruises, but I think he'll probably take it easy until mom and Jazz get back on Monday," Danny said opening the door and letting them in.
"Hey Danny, good to see you and Tohru are back, is this little Kanna?" Jack greeted.
"Yeah, Kanna this is my dad, dad this is Kanna, I think you two are going to get along fast," Danny introduced them to each other.
"Nice to meet you Kanna, do you like fudge?" Jack inquired, keeping his voice low to not scare her.
