Summary
Abby and Rey knew one thing. They were not children. They were weapons. They were made to be weapons and never anything more. Both of them experiments designed to be mindless slaves and fight for things neither of them could understand.Rey was designed to be unstoppable. The DNA of Francis Freeman and Wade Wilson should have given him the ability to not feel pain and regenerate at enhanced speeds.Abby was designed to be manipulative. The power of the mind stone and HYDRA's training should have given her abilities strong enough to defeat armies. But things don't always stay how they were designed. And things go wrong.Especially experiments.

Home - Abby

My hands were cuffed.

I shouldn't be surprised. They normally were when I was awake. They didn’t trust me not to try and escape if my hands are free. They didn’t trust me not to use my powers.

The cuffs were weird. Not just normal metal bracelets that bound my wrists together but instead iron gloves that pinch my hands into fists so there would be no risk of me using my powers at all.

HYDRA doesn't take risks.

My birth was the closest thing to a risk that they ever took. My father said that I cried so much he wished he could have just sewn my lips together. My mother.. well I don't have enough memories of her to remember anything she could have said.

My memories consisted of the training and basic educations that I learnt from HYDRA and my father.

Neither memories were good.

To call HYDRA strict would be an understatement. To call my father cruel would be worse.

My mother used to be a HYDRA operative, she was one of the best.

Until she got pregnant.

HYDRA were going to kill her. She served no use to them if she couldn't fight and it was too much bother dealing with a pregnant lady.

Then they had an idea.

Use the mind stone from Loki's sceptre to give my mother abilities so that when her baby was born that baby would have abilities.

And it worked.

Just not quite how they thought.

Yes I was born with the powers. But they're weak, the tiniest sound at the right frequency and I was out, my powers were gone until the sound stopped.

My mother had died in childbirth.

My father had hated me.

He still does.

My father was an agent of HYDRA, one with a lot of sway and a lot of power.

I am an agent of HYDRA. I was born here. I have grown up here. I will stay here forever. HYDRA is my home and that will never change.

I don't have a proper name. Agents just call me 'Soldier' or some other varient of that word.

My father walked into my room.. cell. The four metal walls were soundproof to counter my enhanced hearing and there was a security camera watching my every move. The only furniture I had was a bolted down bed, if the cold metal and lumpy mattress could even be called that.

As he entered, I stood up, my spine straight to attention and my expression stoic. "Agent Rumlow." I gave him a curt nod.

"Soldier." He replied in that cold, sharp tone of his. "We have a job for you."

My heart leapt in my chest, I knew what kind of jobs HYDRA does. I knew some of the things I'd done, the things that haunted me in my sleep and taunted me in my dreams.

"Someone is not giving us the information we want." Rumlow continued coldly. "We want you to change that."

Blinking back tears, I nodded again, knowing better than to try and disobey or protest against it.

He ushered me out of my cell before following after me, to make sure that I don't do something stupid.

As if I would try. HYDRA's taught me well.

We entered a room, one similar to my cell but instead of a bed there were two agents standing to attention in the back of the room and there was a table bolted down with a woman was sat on a metal chair, her hands were bound to the table in front of her.

My stomach churned as I saw her already bloodied face, the purple and black bruises painted her skin as she laughed coldly.

"Wow." She said with an incredulous scoff. "You couldn't scare me before so now you send in a child." Another laugh escaped her bloody lips. "HYDRA is just as weak as I remember."

One of the agents behind her smacked her across the head for that.

Pain made the woman's face scrunch up as she winced but the moment of weakness only lasted seconds as she laughed again before spitting blood onto the table. "Weak." She repeated, her voice bitter.

"Soldier." My father's cold voice got my attention as I turned to face him. "Don't try anything." He murmured as he undid the manacles around my hands.

Rubbing my red wrists, I turned back to the woman.

Rumlow handed me a knife.

"Uncuff her from the table." My voice sounded wrong in my throat, raw. I coughed once to clear my throat before trying again. "Uncuff her."

Behind me, in the corner of my eye I saw my father nod.

One of the agents grabbed the woman's shoulders and yanked her back into the chair as the other removed her wrists from the table.

They both stepped back as I pushed the table to the side so that I could get close to the woman.

My heart pounded again.

My hands were red and raw, they felt stiff after being stuck in the cuffs so long.

My throat was dry.

Everything was wrong.
