Tony Starks mysterious past
Peter and tony sat on the roof of a near by building, tasked with keeping watch for any stray criminals that may have slipped away from black widow who was inside clearing out the building.
They doubted any would even come close to getting away so they mostly just sat around the whole night.
Peter resorted to asking dumb questions to pass the time, and Tony resorted to ignoring said questions.
"I'd have to say beetles are my favorite insects, I wish I was bitten by a radioactive beetle instead! Man that would have been so cool!" Peter happily ranted on.
"I guess beetle-man sounds a bit less cool though.. Maybe just 'the beetle' is better?"
His legs swung over the side of the roof to the beat of the music he listened to, (currently it was highway to hell, him and Tony shared a playlist during patrols or avenger level threats.)
"Okay umm, how about... Oh! If you could have any job like ever, besides what your doing right now-! What job would you want?"
He smiled, turning down the volume of his music waiting for tonys answer.
"I like my job now."
"Well besides this.. I would be an astronaut or something."
"You've already been to space.."
"I haven't been on the moon though! How bout' you?"
Tony held back an embarrassed smile, "pass." he mumbled, Peter groaned.
"Come on! What about like... Umm." he thought for a moment before laughing,
"You could be a dancer or something."
"Already did that, not my thing." Tony regretted admiting it immediately.
"You danced?!" Peter over exaggerated his surprise.
"Just tap- my moms idea.. And I quit after a week, it was dumb."
"Dude that's awesome, how am I just now finding out about this?" he asked.
"Because I said it was dumb- and your laughing at me." Mr stark resisted a laugh himself, looking away embarrassed.
"No no! I'm laughing because I'm just surprised I swear!"
Peter Scooched closer to Tony, his legs swinging again.
"If I also tell you something embarrassing will you answer my question?"
"What question?"
"What job you want!" Peter exclaimed smiling excitedly.
Tony reluctantly nodded and sighed, "yeah sure."
"Okay, so you know how I told you I have a study group after school on Fridays? I don't. I still do ballet.."
"That's not embarrassing- and I already knew that! May sends me your recital videos." Tony snorted smiling teasingly as Peter playfully pushed him, his face red.
After moments of laughing Tony played with his thumbs, his cheeks also turning slightly red as he confessed.
"I wanted to be a singer when I was your age.. I guess it would be fun."
Peter nodded, "didn't expect that.."
"What? is my voice not Broadway material?"
"I just didn't think you would like... Write music I guess?"
"Oh no.." he groaned covering his face laughing,
"I have my old lyrics in a box somewhere! Remind me to burn those!"
"What!? Dude that's so awesome-!" Peter shouted excitedly.
"You have to sing to me now! It would be illegal not to!" Peter laughed holding Mr Starks shoulder.
Tony immediately said no, sounding as stern as he could while trying to change the subject, he couldn't lie to himself that he wouldn't love to.
He thought about it even while answering other questions; singing to Peter his old songs or even writing a new one for old times sake.
He wouldn't be against it, honestly it hurt how much he wanted to.
That conversation with his favorite person reminded him of how much he loved music, writing and singing it.
The moment of them being alone, just them was quickly interrupted.
"This is just adorable." her teasing sarcastic voice startled them over the com's.
"Ms Romanoff!? How long were our microphones on!?"
"Literally the whole time, it was cute though I finished clearing the building about thirty minutes ago."
"And you didn't think to let us know??" Tony shouted realising she heard his confession.
"I didn't want to interrupt Peters beetle facts! You can't blame me." she giggled,
"You should sing to us some time, I can play piano if you need" she rubbed salt in the wound listing the millions of instruments she could play for them,
Tony thought about it.
He didn't admit he would love to play music with her.
He would never hear the end of it if he did.
The two had to bribe Natasha into keeping this information away from the rest of the Avengers.
The night finished with a short dinner together, Peter repeating his questions from earlier to get Natasha's answers.
Her favorite insect was a preying mantis, and she would have liked to be an artist.
