A high-pitched ring split your ears as you slowly stood to your feet. Your vision twisted in a whirlwind as you tried to get a solid grip on reality. It was loud, you could tell over the ringing. It was dark, as if someone had shut out the sun and ordered it away. There was rushing water, it surrounded you and soaked through your clothes. You felt physically weak, as if the water had drained you of your magic and left you defenseless.
"Y/N."
The sound of your name echoed around your head, it sounded as though someone was speaking through a door. You closed your eyes and focused as you breathed, the squealing slowly dying down to become some distant squeak in the back of your mind.
"Y/N."
You opened your eyes and found Pietro leaning over you with his hand out. Your vision was still blurry, but you were able to see him as you grabbed it and were hoisted to your feet. You heard Rocket panicking as you turned to see him being crushed by some rock. You walked over to him and lifted it up so that he could escape as Pietro went to try and help up Rhodey.
Bruce suddenly yelled, earning your attention as a flood suddenly broke out and washed over you like a tidal wave. You were knocked off your feet as the waves overtook you, drowning you and diminishing your powers.
Pietro panicked for a moment as he was shoved under the water, but his panic was brief as he used his power to contain as much of the water as he could behind a barrier. Rhodey quickly sent out a mayday as Pietro did his best, but the water was pushing against him because of the force it was using to get to lower ground. You wanted to help, but you could barely stay above water.
Your heart was beating faster and faster as the panic shocked through your body. "Piet! Pietro!" you shouted.
He nodded, his hands still raised against the water that was still managing to break through. "I know, I'm trying. Hang on!" A rush of water pulled you under and you took in too much as you struggled to stay above the surface. The building was collapsing in on itself with you all under it.
You were beginning to black out as you were losing air. You could hear Pietro yelling your name, but it was an echo in your head compared to the roaring of the water rushing around you. You tightly grasped whatever you could to stay above water, but you were growing weaker and weaker as you struggled to breathe.
Pietro watched your eyes beginning to close as your breath grew more and more shallow by the second. You toward the wall of water he was keeping back and clenched his teeth. He growled as he closed his eyes and pushed harder. As his eyes opened again, they were a bright blue that had his powers kickstarting as he took a step forward against it.
Some of the water began to trickle from the pool that was surrounding him, retreating into the wall as the water level very slowly began to fall. He pushed harder, a louder grunt escaping him as he used as much strength as he could until Scott arrived.
He directed a hand toward you, curling it as he grasped the water that had rushed into your system. He began to carefully pull it out as it left you to give you space to breathe. You coughed when most of it was out, leaning forward and spitting it out as you gasped for much needed air.
But suddenly, a loud explosive sound erupted as your body was gathered in a very large hand and lifted into the air. You could feel your powers slowly returning as you coughed up the water. When the hand opened after the loud rumbling of a collapsing building, you all jumped out onto the ground to stand.
You stood, holding onto Pietro's hand to steady yourself. Your skin heated as the water steamed off of you. You looked out once you were dry and saw an army...two armies. One was led by Thanos, who stood on the other end of the field with Chitauri beasts and otherwise.
The other one was led by Cap. You smiled and you almost cried as you saw everyone, everyone you had lost before. Sam, Bucky, T'Challa, everyone. But best of all...
You saw her. Wanda. Your Wanda. Your dearest love, your dearest soulmate who you have missed every single day for the past five years.
And she saw you. She smiled as he looked at you, her powers growing brighter. Next to her, you saw someone you had not expected in the least to see. Pietro looked and saw her too, and his face fell as he looked at her. "Why is Irina here? She can't fight," he grew worried as he looked at her.
The Wakandans began their Xhosa chant with their weapons crashing against the ground as their great kingdom advanced. More sorcerers came from the portals, more soldiers and knights and all the in-betweens. Your hands lit up a fire, a new kind of fire that had yet to reveal its power as you stood ready to fight.
Steve turned to face Thanos' grand army. "Avengers!" he exclaimed, his deep voice carrying through the large group of people gathered to protect the universe. He summoned Mjolnir as spoke for the coms to carry to those far from him. "Assemble."
Battle cries erupted from everyone as you all charged into the battle. Thanos' army was next, snarling and roaring in pursuit.
You all met in the middle in a mighty clash of weapons and fists. Your own fists, which were still very much on fire, met faces and weapons as you burnt those who dared come after you to a crisp. Beams and explosions and even weapons forged of fire ripped through the beasts like they were nothing.
Pietro used his speed to cut through the creatures, grabbing their weapons and using them against them. He was less focused on the creatures though, mostly trying to get to Irina and get her to safety. As he saw her though, he realized that maybe she did not need his help.
Because she was soaring through the air and using the force of wind to fight back the creatures who tried to kill her. Pietro watched in awe as she grabbed a spear weapon one of the Wakandans handed her and used it to defend herself against the aliens.
You came to his side, nudging him, "I guess she doesn't really need your help anymore, huh?" You took to the skies again, landing to fight once more.
Irina caught sight of Pietro and smiled at him as she flew to the ground, rushing over to him happily. She ran right into his arms, reaching out to grab his face as she planted a kiss right to his lips. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly as he smiled. Finally, they were together again.
Pietro pulled away, his thumbs stroking her cheeks as he looked her up and down. "Oh, God. Are you alright? You look amazing! You have powers now? What happened?"
She smiled as she shut him up with a hand on his face, peering around him and whipping her spear around to kill a creature that was headed for them. She looked back at him, "The stones wiped me out, but when they brought me back, they activated powers I didn't even know I had. I mean, Strange was there and he told me that I was this being with magical powers called a 'star lady' or something. It's so cool, Piet–!"
He cut her off with another kiss, smiling at her and nodding. "I'm so glad you're back. I love you, Lady Star," he chuckled.
She nodded, "I love you, too." He grabbed her hand and she took off into the air again with him at her side, water following him threw the air as he flew so they could kick some more ass.
You were trying not to die. There were monsters everywhere, and apparently they all loved fighting fire. When you caught sight of the creature chasing after Clint with the gauntlet, you were more than ready to light it up like you were celebrating a holiday. But before you could send a burst of flames its way, Sam got to it first, knocking it off its feet and impaling it with his wings of steel.
He sent you a thumbs up and you nodded, running after Clint again as he flew away. You had not gotten far before you were suddenly knocked off of your feet by a towering beast. You groaned as you looked up, raising a hand to try and defend yourself before more creatures rushed to you and piled on in an attempt at keeping you down.
You used your powers as much as you could, punching and kicking and burning your way through them, but they were burying you now as you were forced to your back with your hands pinned at your side. The large creature stood over your form now, snarling and biting at you threateningly.
You tried to fight it off, but you were losing horribly. As you braced yourself for what was coming, the weight on top of you suddenly disappeared as you slowly opened your eyes. You scrambled to your feet when you saw the snarling creatures dying on the ground.
"Y/N."
You turned around as your breath stopped. Your lips parted and quivered as you saw her so close to you once again. "Wanda," you gasped, rushing over to her. She held her arms open as you raced into them, pulling her close to you like you had never held her before.
She pulled you away from her only as she frantically looked you up and down, holding onto your arms as a hand lifted to touch your cheek. "Oh, my God, baby. Are you okay? Are you hurt? You look amazing! Is Ethan alright? Talk to me–"
You cut her off with a kiss, pulling her in with a breath of relief. She melted against you as she held you closer. You pulled away and shook your head with a scoff, "Maximoffs." She chuckled with you as you smiled. "I'm okay now, Ethan is safe, and we are currently surrounded by aliens who want to kill us, so we should probably get going."
She nodded with a chuckle, "Right. Let's go." She tugged on your arm and you went with her. You both took to the air, using your powers left and right as you watched for the gauntlet.
Steve's voice came through the comms, "Does anyone have eyes on an ugly brown van?"
Valkyrie responded soon enough to its location. Clint was headed there with the gauntlet then, doing his best to get from Point A to Point B without being killed in the process. You were preoccupied with also trying not to be killed in the process as you covered who you could.
That was when you found T'Challa, his suit was glowing violet as he cut through the field with the gauntlet tucked under his arm. When you saw him land suddenly with a small explosion around him, you began to rush over with Wanda. He started running again, but was quickly knocked off course as Thanos' weapon sliced through the air.
Thanos began running over to get to the gauntlet but Wanda was faster as she landed with a flurry of magic. You landed beside her only a moment later, your eyes lighting up with the flames of your fury as you looked up at the monster that you had burned years ago. Wanda watched him with scarlet eyes as magic curled around her fingers.
Both of your red-hot anger had returned at the sight of the man as you stared at him. "You've taken so much from me," she seethed.
"I don't even know who you are," Thanos replied as he rushed forward.
"You will."
You stood behind her, holding your hands up as she raised her own. Stones and wires and tons of other very heavy objects lifted from the ground around her in a magnificent flurry of magic. Your fire curled around them. Brighter than ever before, both of your magic combined with a great force against Thanos.
You both smacked the large boulders down onto him, which crumbled and shoved him into the ground. He continued to advance, ignoring the fire that caught around him like a poisonous venom. Wanda went flying and crashed into the ground again, shooting energy and magic at him one after the other, which was even more powerful as you coupled them with your flames.
You worked almost effortlessly with her until Thanos suddenly tripped you with his weapon as it stabbed into the ground. Wanda faltered as he brought his blade down on her, being held back by her magic as it tried to serve as a shield.
You clenched your teeth as you grabbed at the soil under your hands and stood. You took in a breath as you raised your hands at your sides, clenching them into fists as you took a hold of more boulders and lit them up like asteroids. Wanda used the force of her magic to force Thanos back, knocking his weapon away and breaking it in two. As he lost his balance, you sent the boulders flying into him as he was knocked down to the ground like nothing.
Wanda held up her hands as she grasped him with her magic, forcing him on his knees and into the air. You knelt behind him, mirroring her stance as you set him to flame. He shouted and grunted as he buckled underneath Wanda's grasp, his armor breaking away—some of it even melted and burned against his skin, forging with him in a painful sensation.
He shouted a command that you hardly heard over the sound of the raging fire around him. It was all too quickly after that, that missiles shot from the ships in the sky and burst into the ground. You and Wanda were split apart as you were both sent flying into the air at the force and strength of them hitting the ground.
You had lost her by now, too far away to catch sight of your soulmate as you hoped she was alright. You used your fire as a shield against the missiles raining down around you, which only helped to some extent.
