Chapter 21
Pietro and Irina were having a different time, covering one another and trying to protect themselves against the missiles. Irina directed them away as quickly as possible with her newfound powers that manipulated the air. Pietro used large bodies of water summoned in the air to either neutralize or slow some of them down.
His attention was torn when he heard a loud burst and a rushing of water from the sea that threatened to pour out onto the field. Strange quickly got in position to hold the water back in a large whirlwind. Pietro turned, "Are you okay?" Irina nodded and motioned for him to leave to handle what he could. He joined Strange's side in keeping back the water, moving it back in an attempt to keep it away.
You brought a hand to the side of your head, "Irina, do you see Wanda?"
Her voice came moments later, "Yeah, she's okay. I also see Peter, there are missiles everywhere. He can't move."
"Okay, try to help him. I'll be on my way," you nodded. You looked up and took to the skies again, only narrowly avoiding the missiles that cut through the air like knives. It took a while, but you finally laid eyes on Wanda as she sent a ball of magic into the air to catch your attention.
You rushed to her in no time, grabbing her and making sure she was alright. She assured you profusely as she nodded. "Parker needs help," you told her, to which she immediately got into gear to start running again.
Before you could make a move toward him, there was another missile that blocked your path as it crashed into the ground. They were surrounding you all too quickly as you ducked to take cover with Wanda doing what she could to steer them away.
But then it stopped.
You all looked up slowly to see what was happening .The missiles began firing again, but this time, it was pointed toward the sky and into the clouds that had already gathered. "What the hell is that?" Sam called through the comms.
A bright shining light suddenly came tumbling down like an asteroid, impervious to the missiles that shot at it too quickly for anyone to comprehend. It headed straight for the ship, flying right through it and destroying it as it powered down and came crashing into the sea
As it slowed, you smiled and shook your head as you saw Carol Danvers flying above everyone else. Of course.
You made your way towards Peter again with Wanda at your side as you saw the hordes of aliens coming for him once again. As you got close, you could hear Peter's voice. "I don't know how you're gonna get it through all of that," Peter sighed as he handed the gauntlet over.
You and Wanda landed next to Carol, your hand in hers as you stood up straighter. "Don't worry," Wanda said. Irina landed next to her.
"She's got help," Okoye spoke as she came to a stop in front of Peter. More women from the team joined side by side as you all rushed to the army coming at you. You jumped into the air, hovering above Wanda as she used her magic to grab a hold of one of the Chitauri's underbelly. You used your fire to combine with hers once more as the Chitauri began falling to the ground.
Irina came flying beside you, her hands raised in tight grasps as her own magic combined as well to grip the Chitauri and run it into the ground, moving it onto a mass of creatures coming Okoye's way.
A strange feeling washed over you as you felt Irina's powers mix with yours. She looked at you with the same face, she had felt it too. You moved over to her, still defending as you were able to get the words out. "You're Lady Star," you said. "You're the third member of the Trinity."
"I have no idea what the Trinity is but the wizard did say I was Lady Star, so..."
You smiled as you looked in the direction that Pietro was in. "Go get him. I have an idea," you nodded. She gave the nod back as she rushed away to find her soulmate. While she was gone, you flew with Pepper, Hope, and Shuri to cover Carol as she went with the gauntlet. Your combined powers had a flurry of fire and electricity throwing Thanos to the floor to allow Carol to brush by.
It seemed Irina was quicker than most as she returned not a moment later with Pietro. You grabbed his and Irina's and flew into the air. "The Cosmic Trinity is supposed to be a really powerful group. I was studying during those five years, and if I'm not wrong, this is it."
Pietro smirked, "Then we better get to work." Irina just followed in confusion. She did not really know what was going on—this was her first gig.
"Part the clouds so I can reach the sun," you told her. She obeyed, raising her hands as her powers curled around the cover of clouds in the sky. She parted them as a beam of sunlight bled through. You reached a hand up and out, clenching roughly as you felt for the flames of the sun under your power. Pietro was next as she turned in the opposite direction. He closed his eyes and you watched as he clenched his fists.
"Eclipse," Pietro said before clenching his teeth to use as much strength as he could muster. You watched and saw as the moon began to travel the skies, moving over faster than any human eye had seen before to block the sun, pulling it forward so that it appeared bigger to the earth.
Pietro moved a hand toward the dam that had broken where all the water was beginning to spill again. Irina lifted a hand to defend against a creature that was headed your way. The water from the dam lifted into the air and traveled to Thanos' oncoming army, surrounding and beginning drowning them in a great flood. Irina used her own powers next as she curled and spun her fingers, creating a large whirlwind, a hurricane of creatures and water.
As the tides grew higher, so did the hurricane as it washed over the army intent on death and destruction. You closed your eyes and let in a breath as you took energy from the sun and focused it on the hurricane. With the flick of your wrist, the whirlwind caught a fire in a mix of fire and water. Creatures shouted and cried out as they burned, drowned, or both.
Some people stopped to watch the amazing phenomenon, able to take a moment to breathe as the better part of the army struggled for life.
None of you noticed the weapon that was sent flying behind you all. You were knocked from the air as a large glave cut through the air. You were sent falling to the ground as you tried to catch yourself, but you had spent so much energy on controlling the sun, which was already moving back to its rightful place, along with the moon.
Before you could hit the ground, your body was caught by a warm embrace. You looked around as you saw the scarlet magic surrounding you. Your eyes saw Irina and Pietro next, being carefully moved to the ground by Wanda. You all landed, still catching your breath as the water and fire disappeared with the wind.
Wanda rushed to you, "Are you alright?" You nodded, looking back to see what was happening. You both caught sight of Thanos with the gauntlet. You were so physically weak now, it was hard for you to get to your feet to move. Wanda pushed you down gently to keep you sitting. "You're going to get yourself hurt," her voice was firm, and you did not dare go against her wishes as her eyes shone red at you.
Thor rushed to him and had him on his knees as Steve went to help. When that did not work, Carol was there next. So much happened, you could not keep up as you watched helplessly from the ground with Wanda beside you, who refused to leave your side as she defended you both against any creatures that came your way.
Then you saw Tony rush forward and grab onto the gauntlet. He would not be able to get it off on his own, his armor was not strong enough. That was proven when Thanos pushed him away like he weighed nothing. He went rolling to the ground.
Thanos raised his hand as he fastened the glove on, a smirk coming to his face as he turned to face Tony. You cried out, reaching a hand to summon fire that could not reach him. Thanos growled before he lifted his hand and snapped. You closed your eyes shut, your breath catching up with you quicker than you expected.
But nothing happened.
You looked up again and saw Thanos' smirk turn into a frown as he looked at the glove. He turned it around. The stones were gone.
And then you saw Tony with his own hand raised. A flurry of multi-colored electricity crackled around his hand as the pain of the stones overtook him. His head threw back as he endured it before he looked forward again. He could not do it, he would die if he used those stones. But you could not do anything about it. The air was still as Tony looked at Thanos for a long time.

There was a loud blast and a rumbling sound followed.
A beast that you had not realized was coming for you suddenly fell as it turned to dust, drifting into the air and falling to the ground. You grabbed onto Wanda and looked around as all your enemies turned to dust.
Wanda looked at you, her eyes wide as you both took each other in during the still moment that ensued. You both stood to your feet, your hands holding onto each other tightly as you continued to look around, still walking side by side before picking up Irina and Pietro on the way there. Pietro and Wanda hugged each other, smiling into the long embrace as they were finally reunited.
You all walked slowly as you caught sight of Tony, lying helplessly on the ground as he struggled to stay conscious. Many of the others joined your side, all with the same objective in mind to get to Tony. As you finally reached him, Peter swung in as he approached him. He knelt down to his level, tears in his eyes.
"Mr. Stark, can you hear me?" he asked, his voice wavering. "It's Peter. Hey. We won, Mr. Stark. We won, Mr. Stark. We won! You did it, sir, you did it." Pepper set a hand on his shoulder as he walked over. "I'm sorry. Tony," Peter cried. Pepper started helping him up, trying to see if he was alright before walking toward her husband.
Wanda rested her forehead on your shoulder and you brought her in closely. You kissed her forehead, rubbing your shoulder. You swallowed the lump rising in your throat as you saw Pepper bend down to see him.
You watched as Pepper set her hand over his arc reactor. She spoke quietly to him for a moment before bowing her head. She trembled and you looked away as your own tears flooded your eyes.
Clint came up beside the four of you, earning a hug from Wanda as they met once again. She was quick to return to your side though, her arms wrapping around your body as yours wrapped around hers.
"I love you," she whispered gently into your ear.
You nodded, pulling her closer, "I love you."
