Frank Gallagher: The children's alcoholic father. He had a traumatic childhood. He is highly addicted. Although he occasionally does small things for his family, his main attachment in life is to drugs and alcohol. There is nothing he wouldn't do for them. He is irresponsible. He doesn't care about the children and gets them into trouble all the time. He is always passed out somewhere. He only comes home when he has work to do.
Monica Jean Gallagher: Frank's one and only love. She is just as irresponsible as him. She has bipolar disorder and cannot cope with her illness because she refuses treatment. She comes and goes home. She falls in love with everyone she meets, but when she and Frank get together, they return to their sick love that destroys not only them but everyone and everything around them.
Valentina Gallagher: The oldest daughter of Frank and Monica. She is the older sister of the family, but she is actually raising all five children. Unlike her irresponsible parents, she is a responsible person. She is conscientious and compassionate. She has put her own life behind her siblings' lives. There is not a single moment when she does not make sacrifices. According to Frank, she got her beauty from her mother.
Lip Gallagher: The second oldest child in the family. A total clown. Sometimes he thinks his sister expects too much from him. Like getting into college. Even though he is very smart, he doesn't insist on using his head.
Ian Gallagher: Number three. Debbie, who's a little younger than him, is number four. And she's very self-sufficient. So Ian has been left with middle child syndrome. He's often made fun himself of for being bipolar like his mother.
Debbie Gallagher: Monica claims that Debbie's father was a blind jazz musician that she accidentally slept with, but unfortunately her biological father, Frank, manages to prove it with a DNA test. According to Frank, one of her great-great-grandmothers had an affair with a black man, "who injected black genes into the Irish family" (Frank is a racist piece of sh*t). Debbie is the most responsible of the siblings after Valentina. She works hard to get into a good college. She is Peter Parker's girlfriend.
Liam Gallagher: The youngest in the house. He is five years old. He is annoying everyone with his admiration for Tony Stark. His biggest dream is to grow up to be an Avenger, but Frank insists on teaching him cooler things like cheating at cards, forging checks, and drinking until his liver fails.
