Chapter 6
Over the next coming week lady and her parents were preparing their case against her uncle alongside Amelia's mother and Aunt.
lady was a little bit nervous about going up against her uncle in court since if they lost they would lose everything they have.
but Amelia reassured her that her mother had never lost a court case she didn't want to lose and that back home in Scotland she was the greatest lawyer ever.
Even so lady did remain a bit cautious.
but things were also very positive in her life with her new relationship with Thomas. of course things were a little bit awkward at first between them so they didn't know how to act as a full on couple but they gently began finding their ways.
Daisy meanwhile was giving them glares and often trying to corner Lady and Demanding that she drops the court case against her and her father.
but lady held firm and continued to tell her no and to just leave her alone.
This did work for a while since Amelia had pointed out that this could be seen as intimidation so Daisy had to back down.
but finally the next Monday the court proceedings would begin. lady and her friends had been given a few days off of school to attend the trials as Witnesses in the case.
as they were sitting in the courtroom waiting for the king and queen to show up George came over With a smirk on his face.
George: “ I'll give you this one last chance to drop this court case or you will lose everything since I am very certain the king and queen will see that I am the rightful heir to our parents fortune.”
Both lux aurea and jackland We're still a bit nervous but lady decided to stand up to her uncle with her friends by her side.
Lady: “ We shall see how it goes uncle. and we will not back down!”
George just continued to smirk: “ it's your funeral.”
He then walked off towards his table just as the king and queen arrived alongside their royal guards.
and to everybody's shock the king and queen were none other than…
royal guard: “ you may rise for the honorable King Howard Billington and the gracious Queen Tanya Billington! they will be presiding over this case !”
Everybody looked completely taken aback except for Thomas, Timothy and Amelia.
lady whispered to her boyfriend: “Your parents really are the king and queen of sodor? How?”
Thomas chuckled: “ don't you remember what duke told us About King Godred and his descendants?”
lady gave a quick nod.
Thomas: “ well let's just say that over the years they have married into many commoner families including my own. My mother is actually the real queen of sodor since she is the descendant of him. My dad just married into the throne more than anything.”
Lady: “ So I am dating one of the crown prince’s of sodor?”
Thomas with a cheeky smile: “ yep. And if you're wondering how my family secret is going to remain a secret after this trial? We basically have a talisman that has been passed down from parent to child for generations that basically erases the memory of us being king and queen or princess and princesses from anyone's mind that we don't want to remember. except for the people that we do trust and will be allowed to remember. like you and Amelia and the rest of my friends.”
Lady then decided to remain quiet while still being shocked that she was dating one of the prince’s of sodor.
As the trial went on George tried to make himself look like the innocent victim of some greedy greedy people that wanted his money That was rightly given to him by his parents will.
but when it became time for Anne to present her case it looked like everything was stacked against her.
But Amelia just smirked and leaned towards her boyfriend: “ this is where it's going to get good. my mom always performs best in a court case when it is stacked against her.”
Anne: “ Your majesties Mr Rose may seem like an honest man that has done nothing wrong in his life and earned his money squarely. but the reality is that he has stolen the money from his own sister and niece. And I have proof of this.”
At this point George stood up: “ objection there's no proof of that ludicrous statement!”
Anne Just gave a smile: “ Actually I have tons of evidence.
first of all you claim you were given the money in the inheritance that your parents exclusively gave to you correct? and you also told us that you are an upstanding pillar of the community ever since you are a young boy correct?”
George: “ That is absolutely true!”
Anne’s smile grew even wider as she realized that George had fallen right into her trap.
Anne: “ So that's the story you'll be sticking with and you won't make any alterations?”
George in an annoyed tone: “ yes I was a perfect model student that had amazing grades and was the star of my family's eye. while my sister was a good for nothing idiot that did nothing but spread her legs for her boyfriend and barely passed High School. our parents were severely disappointed in her and that's why she wasn't on the will!”
anne: “again that's the story you're sticking with?”
George: “ yes because it's the absolute truth!”
Anne pulled out some papers from her briefcase and presented them to the court.
Anne: “ actually according to your official school records you are the one who was a troublemaker in school. you barely even passed high school and you had several cases of harassment of female students. I also have testimonies from your teachers that backup my story. plus your ex-girlfriend also told me how you manipulated her into being your girlfriend and having a child of yours and then taking that child away from her and not allowing Visitation rights even though she qualified for that.
and finally I have evidence that you fake the will of your parents.”
George was a little shocked by the statement while Tanya and Howard looked very much interested.
Tanya: “ What do you mean Miss McIntosh?”
Anne: “ from what I was made aware Mr and Mrs stone always wrote every single contract and every single legal document themselves in front of a license practitioner. This was to prevent anybody from scamming them so they could show what the real papers looked like. This is also true for their will. they wrote every single thing themselves and just had their lawyers stamp it to make it legal.”
Anne pulls the will that George was claiming was the real will: “but the will that Mr Rose has presented is typed not written! This means he illegally wrote his own will tomake sure that he had everything his parents We're going to give to his sister as stated in the legal will. After he got his hands on the money he also used that money to start his own business and began bribing multiple people in high places including: police officers, judges, lawyers and so on and so forth to make sure that his sister could not contest the will in any way. After that he bribed her boss to get her fired from her job even though she did nothing wrong. Then he made sure that his sister was living in a crappy house since it was the only thing she could afford.
he has pretty much broken every single law in the book in pursuit of his wealth and has also been caught on video threatening miners on multiple occasions and even assaulting a minor which happened to be his own niece and one of the prince’s of sodor! and if it will please the court I will present my Witnesses if requested.”
Both Tanya and Howard had a Glared Towards George who wanted to deny everything but Anne then immediately played the videos of him threatening Thomas and lady and him attacking lady after the play.
Both Tanya and Howard looked absolutely disgusted and did call for a break for them to deliberate about what they had been told.
Both sides were accompanied by a royal guard and ordered to go to separat places for them to have some lunch.
lady and her friends went to a pizzeria only a few blocks down from the Courthouse.
all of them were eating pizza and chatting about what they had been told.
lady meanwhile looked very nervous and Thomas noticed this.
Thomas: “ What's wrong lady?”
lady let out a sigh: “ I'm just concerned if my uncle wins it could mean losing everything I have… alongside my parents. And the money he's asking for us in his countersuit it's something we can't afford to pay him…. we might end up becoming homeless…”
Thomas gave her a small hug and began reassuring her: “ it's okay lady. if I know my parents they won't stand for what your uncle has done and we'll see that your family is in the right and that that money rightfully belongs to you and your family.”
Lady let out another sigh: “ this isn't about the money Thomas. This is about taking control away from my uncle and setting me and my parents free. I don't care if I get one cent from him or a million. I just want to make sure he can never ever do anything against us again. I want my family to stay safe from him.”
Thomas gave her a gentle smile and began chuckling: “ you have a noble soul lady. never let that go.”
Lady was finally able to smile: “ I promise you Thomas that I will never let go of my noble soul. because everybody knows revenge is a poison that will slowly kill you From Within.”
Timothy who was sitting in the same Booth as them nodded at that statement: “ very wise words lady very wise words. you might make a good queen someday.”
Both Thomas and Lady began blushing.
Thomas: “Timothy we have just gotten together and it's not certain that we will get married.”
Lady: “ Besides, who is to say that you and Amelia won't become king and queen?”
Amelia took a slice out of her chicken pizza: “Because I am already inheriting the Lordship from my father of our family's land back in Scotland since my other aunts and uncles don't have children of their own besides Donald and Douglas and they don't want the title. and since Timothy has defeated me in single combat he is my fiance now.”
Both Thomas and lady now looked extremely confused as Timothy was robbing the back of his head.
Timothy: “ It's apparently a tradition for the Macintosh Clan that if somebody wants to marry a female member of the clan that you have to defeat them in single combat in order to prove yourself worthy of their hands. I wasn't made aware of this when I was fighting her in front of the Elder of the Clan so it was also a surprise to me to learn that we're engaged. and before you ask mom and dad already know about this Thomas. sorry for not telling you sooner.”
Thomas just couldn't believe his brother was already engaged at 16 years old.
After another half hour all of them Returned towards the courtroom to hear the final verdict of the case.
George still had a confident smile on his face thinking he would still be able to win this.
Tanya spoke up: “ We have come to a decision over this case and given all of the evidence presented to us as well as some extra evidence we were able to see during the break we declare that George Rose indeed stole the inheritance from his sister and his niece!”
George was completely shocked: “ what!!”
Howard: “ and considering all his other crimes he is also guilty of every single one of them. As for his punishment he is to give back every single pound he stole from his sister and his niece plus all the extra money he has been able to make with the business that was illegally made on the money that he should have not had. and he's also to pay them compensation for everything he did towards his sister’s family.”
George stood up in Anger: “ you cannot do that because that will be all my money! and you can't make me pennyless like that that is against the law!”
Tanya in a sickly sweet voice: “ it might be against international law but this court case includes sodor law which states that we As king and queen have the final say in something like this. and considering you threaten one of our children we will not go light on you!”
George: “ Then what about my daughter! If I'm in prison, who will take care of her!”
Howard: “ she will be taken care of by her mother until she is 18. After that it's her mother's decision what happens. this court is now adjourned.”
Tanya: “ guards take him away!”
George tried to escape but the guards were much faster than him and he eventually was caught. as he was being dragged out of the courtroom he began kicking and screaming that he'll come back and he'll get his revenge on all of them!
as lady took one last look at her uncle she gave him a cold look and said: “ when you come out of prison you will have no more power over us. and if we ever see you again we're going to make sure you will Regret it for the rest of your miserable existence!”
after she said that the doors to the courtroom slammed shut and she just let out a sigh and slumped back into her chair.
Thomas immediately came over to her and hugged her: “ You're finally free from him lady. how does it feel?”
lady looked at her boyfriend and gave him the biggest smile of her life: “ pretty great. and I also know that no matter what the future brings you'll always stand by my side as will the rest of my friends.”
Rosie jumped onto the table in her monkey form: “ you bet we will! Now let's go celebrating!”
Thomas And lady just shook their heads as they also began walking out of the courtroom with their friends who were talking about where they were going to have their victory party.
as the two of them walked out of the courtroom they truly felt that their lives were going to turn for the better.
