Beautiful fields
You look out
And see nothing
Empty fields
The once beautiful fields with a setting sun
The sky painted with pinks and peaches
But the storm clouds are rolling in
The ones that will tear you apart
The storm that rips your boat in half
The storm that separates you from them
The girl you’ve loved for so long
But never knew
You take one last look out over the world
Watching the storm clouds roll in
Hearing the thunder crash
Watching the lightning strike
The fields burst into flames
Every last flower and crop
Going up in a puff of smoke
You take one last look over the once-beautiful landscape
Turning your back to the world
Venturing into the forest
Shrouding yourself in darkness
Letting it take over your mind
Letting it spread to every inch of you
You fall to the ground slowly being crushed
The weight of your own thoughts
Too heavy to lift
Thoughts filled with darkness and death
Thoughts filled with hurt and suffering
Then it’s gone
They change to nothing
Just black
A feeling of emptiness
But there’s a light
She’s that light
But that light is empty
The conversations once filled with such love and
passion
All empty and broken
An empty light
In an empty forest
With an empty mind
Everything is
Empty
