Ocean sat in between Constance and Penny, picking at the sides of her nails, she’d gotten slightly overwhelmed last lesson from all the chaos but was hiding it relatively well, or at least she thought she was.
“Ocie,”
Constance turned to her, knowing something was wrong, she had that sense. The benefits of being the choir’s mom friend was always knew something was wrong.
Ocean turned to the shorter girl, now picking at the skin on her lips, bouncing her legs.
“Yes, Connie?”
Her speech was quiet, she was struggling to speak because of the chaos. Constance handed her a tangle Ricky had given her a couple of days prior.
“Here, so you stop picking at yourself,”
Constance smiled warmly as Ocean who was slightly nervous, she wasn’t used to acting like her actual self around people.
“What if they judge me?!”
Ocean whispered, leaning towards Constance.
“Have we ever judged Ricky for talking about cat women?”
Constance giggled as she mentioned Ricky’s obsession with cat women, Ocean just sighed.
“I know but—“
She began before Constance cut her off.
“No buts, Ocie,”
The ginger sighed and smiled slightly as she fidgeted with the tangle.
“Why don’t you tell me about that band you like?”
Ocean’s eyes lit up at the mention as she began to ramble.
Ricky gave Constance a thumbs up for finally convincing Ocean to unmask, it was a big step forward for Ocean.
