Welcome to Earth mother fucker

Olivia Quill whined as her alarm clock rang off, waking her up at 8 on the dot. Clumsily reaching over, she hit the off button and went put her head back on her pillow, hoping to get a slow start to the morning. A slow start was not what fate had in mind however, as her golden retriever, Dusty, barged into the room, pulling the covers of her and licking her face. "Dusty! Okay okay! I'm up!" She said in between fits of giggles. Dusty jumped off the bed and bounced around excitedly while Olivia got up and stretched. After brushing her blonde hair to acceptable standards, changing out of her pajamas, and brushing her teeth (so what if she still used bubblegum flavored toothpaste? It was her favorite!), she headed downstairs to where she could smell pancakes already on the stove.

"Morning mom." She called out, yawning one last time. "Morning sweetheart!" Her mother, Meredith Quill replied, cheerfully. Olivia set off to make herself a nice cup of coffee. "I'm going to have to run into town for a few hours, need anything?" Olivia thought about it. "Could you get me more art supplies? I'm almost out." Olivia loved drawing. Whether it was scenery in the forest out back, random objects, or things that came to mind, she loved drawing. Lately however, she had taken to googling random things and drawing those. Her mother, grandpa and practically everyone else thought her art was fantastic, she even had friends from school pay her to make custom things for them. But... while they were good there weren't nearly as great as everyone cracked them up to be. Part of her thought that everyone was lying to her, but there was no way everyone was in on dome ruse. Despite not thinking her art was good, she still loved making it. Sitting down for hours in peace and quiet, just focusing on one thing. Her mom came in, humming Brandy by Looking Glass. "Okay honey, I'm only going to be gone for a few hours, ok?" Olivia rolled her eyes. "Okay mom. I'm not 12 you know." Her mom gave her that sad smile. The one that basically screamed 'your growing up so fast.' "I know honey... I love you." "I love you too mom, be careful." Meredith walked out of the kitchen and to the living room. She stopped for a few seconds, to look at a picture of her son, Peter Quill. The photo was placed on a mantel, above the fire place. Olivia hated that photo. It wasn't she was jealous or anything, she just wished she actually had her brother here instead of looking at some photos. It would have been nice to have an older brother during elementary and middle school. Those were her worst years, the times when bullies had been most prominent. Thankfully, she had actually been somewhat popular during high school, and it carried to her current year, senior year.

While she wasn't the most popular girl, she was still pretty popular. Even the more popular girls still respected her and were nice to her so that was a plus. She also had her friends since kindergarten there so she was never lonely. She even had her boyfriend ever since 6th grade who had almost moved cross country but didn't do to... world events. After staring longingly at the poster for a few more moments, she said a final goodbye and left, quicker than she probably meant to go. Olivia sighed. For what was definitely not the first time, she wondered what  having an older brother would be like. Would they be best friends all throughout their childhood? Would they annoy each other? Get in trouble together? Ignore each other when they grew older? Sadly, she would never know. Her mother never liked to talk about the day her brother went missing, so she had to get the story from her grandpa. He told her that Peter (he didn't look like a Peter) was in the room when his mother started flat lining and pushed him out so we wouldn't have to see her death. Nobody knew if he left the hospital alone, or if he was snatched from inside the hospital, but he was never found. Apparently, despite having flat lined, Meredith Quill kept living. After waking up from a coma, the first thing she did was ask about Peter. Grandpa had said that it was the hardest thing ever to try and explain to his daughter why her son wasn't around. Understandably, she was sad that her son was gone. But... didn't seem worried? She said that she was sad that she would never see Peter again (grandpa was baffled by how certain she was with that) saying that his father from the stars had picked him up. Naturally, her grandpa was shocked by this. Sure, she mentioned this 'being of pure light' before, but this? This was flat out crazy. Grandpa, bless his soul, decided to try to snap Meredith out of what he thought was craziness, or perhaps coping.

Meredith in return, wasn't happy that her father didn't believe her (which she did later admit was fair). It caused a rift between them that got so bad, the next time Jason would see his daughter again was when she gave birth to Olivia. After that, there was a truce... among them. Jason wanted to be around his granddaughter, the only grandkid he had, and Meredith wanted her father to be in her baby girl's life. They fortunately did truly forgive each other though....

2012

Olivia hummed along to 'Come and Get Your Love' from her moms Walkman. Despite loving to tease her mom about how outdated it was, she loved it dearly. She carried it with her practically everywhere she went in the house (not out of the house though, her mom said it was practically an heirloom and should not be lost at all cost.) She was drawing a picture of her new dog, Dusty. "Hey Sweet pea, I'm a little hungry, want me to cook you anything?" He asked. Olivia nodded. "Sure grampy." Olivia ever since she was young, she had called her grandfather "grampy". The nickname had stuck, and she stilled called him that to this day. Jason went about, making waffles for the two of them (he asked Meredith earlier if she wanted any and she politely declined.) They were making small talk about her grandpa's work, and her school project, when all of a sudden, Meredith screamed to them from the living room. "OLIVIA! DAD! COME HERE!" The two immediately looked at each other, both faces etched in concern. Quickly turning the waffle maker off, Jason Quill entered the room at speeds he hadn't done in years. Olivia, followed suit, trailing him like a shadow. Meredith Quill sat on the couch, eyes glued to the screen in shock. Olivia remembered her grandfather asking her mother what was wrong, but all she could do was gawk at the T.V. After a sigh, Jason moved from the hallway to get a better view of the T.V. He too froze, and actually fell backwards, sitting on another sofa (which could not have been good for his back). Olivia got scared. Both her mom and grandpa who were strong people, were completely terrified of whatever had happened. Should she just go run to her room and hide in her closet? For whatever reason, she decided not to and looked at the T.V. She managed to go sit by her mother, and stared in silent horror.

There were aliens. In New York. Attacking New York. Attacking EARTH. Apparently, some god managed to get an army and was trying to take over Earth? That's all she picked up from the news reporter, although she paid maybe two seconds of attention to her. All she could do was stare in horror as these aliens she would later know as Chitauri, poured from a giant portal above New York City. Thankfully, Iron Man swept in, among other "superheros" (she did not count Black Widow and Hawk eye as superheros, they may be strong and cool, but they were just regular people who trained a lot.) They began fighting back, managing to keep the Chitauri in a boundary, while managing to get civilians out of the way. Eventually, somebody tried to send in a nuke for that (the government got a lot of shit for that) but thankfully, Tony Stark, aka Iron Man was able to intercept the missile and flew it into the portal, apparently taking out the enemy ship on the other side. Since the ship was taken out, all of the Chitauri fell, no longer being connected to anything. The only damaged after that was a few of those stupid space whales crashing down into buildings.

By the time the invasion was over, 6 hours had gone by. They stared at the T.V as that dumb reporter talked about the damage (yeah they could see it, that's what the freaking camera was for) for another 10 minutes before someone broke the silence. That someone, being Meredith who turned to her dad. "Believe me about Ego now?" She said with a shaky smirk. Jason just nodded, still in shock from what he just witnessed.

After that, they came to an agreement. Aliens existed, her half brother was an alien, and for some reason, Peter's father abandoned Meredith. Neither Jason nor Olivia felt like telling that small detail to Meredith though, so they decided to keep it to themselves.

Present day

Olivia was snapped out of her thoughts, when she heard knocking on the door. Dusty immediately ran over to the door and began jumping up and down excitedly. Dusty's reaction alone was proof enough that this person wasn't a stranger or a threat, so she got up and was surprised to see her grandpa there. "Granpy! What are you doing here?" She asked, hugging him tightly. Jason Quill laughed and hugged his granddaughter back. "Hello sweetheart, how's my baby girl doing?" He asked with a smile. "I'm doing good grandpa! Would you like to come in?" Jason nodded and followed his granddaughter into her house, stopping only to pet and say hi to Dusty. "I take it your mother is out? I didn't see her car." Olivia nodded. "Yeah, she said she had to run some errands. Said she'd be back in a few hours." They continued with the small talk for about 20 or so minutes, topics ranging from school to other mundane things. "Hey grandpa, want to go hunting?" She asked rather suddenly. She had no idea why she wanted to go hunting all of a sudden, but she wanted to. Thankfully, her grandpa didn't pick up on any of her weirdness of the question and happily agreed. After preparing, getting the shotguns, leaving a note for her mom, and trudging through a mandatory safety lecture (eye roll) they headed out.

Olivia unfortunately, wasn't getting any luck finding wild game. The same could not be said however, for her grampy. He shot two birds, and a deer. After having Dusty fetch the last bird, Jason decided to head back. "You'll be alright, princess?" Olivia nodded, squatting down to her pet Dusty. "We'll be fine grampy. Maybe I'll actually catch something without you hogging all the game!" Jason laughed. "Alright sweetheart. I'll go prepare these two things here. Love you." "Love you grampy!" After that, she and Dusty headed deeper into the woods. She wasn't worried about getting lost. She had explored and played through these woods all her life. She walked along the familiar paths for about 10 more minutes, before deciding to give up. "Alright Dusty... time to head back?" She said, looking down at her dog. Dusty jumped up, standing on his two hind legs, before going back to all four. Olivia laughed. "I'll take that as a yes. Come on, let's go." She began to walk back, adjusting the shotgun in her hands, when she heard a strange sound. Dusty noticed it too apparently, and began barking. "Dusty, quiet!" Olivia commanded, trying to make sense of the sound. Just then, it felt like a meteorite hit the ground, sending her flying. Dusty, who was behind a log and wasn't affected, ran over to her in worry. Thankfully, Olivia wasn't hurt too badly, more shaken than anything. She looked around and saw what seemed to be wreckage. 'What is that? Doesn't look like a plane to me...' She thought, a bad feeling started to form in her gut.

She heard voices, and peered from behind the tree she was hiding behind. She immediately wished she hadn't and felt a cold chill rush through her. Aliens. There were aliens, who crashed down here. Right in front of here. They didn't look like Chitauri, but that didn't mean they were good guys. There was two human looking guys (traitors?) a pretty green girl, a big gray man with red welts all over him, a blue man with scars and a metal mohawk (admittedly cool) a weird lady with antenna, a moving stick... and a RACCOON!?!? There was no way that racoon was normal. It was talking, wearing clothes, and looked... experimented on... unless there were some species that looked identical to raccoons. Upon further inspection, they looked to be armed. In Olivia's panicking mind, that only meant that they were here for an invasion. She panicked when one of the human looking guys approached her spot, talking about butterflies.

Popping out of her hiding spot, she leveled the gun at his face. She tried to take calming breaths, which apparently failed since she was still shaking. "Welcome to Earth, mother fucker." Olivia grinned. If there was one good thing in this situation, at least she got to quote one of her favorite movies.
