Yeah, I love you

“No Draco, move it a bit to the left!” Alex said as he took a few steps back, looking at the tree. He stood there looking at the tree from different angles.

“Draco your left!” Harry called looking at the tree from the opposite side. He came around the tree to join Alex who was holding his finger ups to figure out what was wrong with the tree.

Draco adjusted the star once again, and as he pushed a little more to the left he was met with Harry and Alex screaming, “That's perfect! It’s perfect, don't touch it!”

Draco chuckled and got down, folding the ladder up and going to admire his work with the two other boys, “Does Christmas always contain this much screaming?”

“Oh you have no idea,” Harry smirked and looked at Alex who simply laughed in response.

Suddenly someone came up to Harry and covered his eyes. “Guess who?”

“Uncle wormtail! You’re here!” cried Harry, turning around and throwing his arms over his uncle.

“Hey kid, what's up?” Peter smiled.

Peter then moved to side hug Alex, “How are your dads?”

“They’re good,” nodded Alex, “They’re downstairs if you wanted to say hi?”

“Alright, sounds good.” Peter picked up his bag and headed to the basement stairs, “See you kids later.”

“I miss the castle!” groaned Alex, who was lying half on, half off of his bed.

“I dunno, I was kinda excited to go. I needed a break ya know?” Harry said. “Why do you miss the castle so much anyways?”

“I just wanna use magic!” Alex threw his head back into his pillows, “ I left my book on the other side of the room and now I have to get up and grab it! Its torture! How do muggles do it?”

Draco set his book down and tossed Alex’s book at him. It hit his chest with a hard thud and Alex yelled, “Draco! What the hell!”

“There. No need for magic. Anyways, could you please shut up so I can read!” Draco retorted, exasperated. And it was quiet. For a total of ten minutes before someone came into the room.

“Boys?” The person asked, “Are you guys busy?”

Alex and Harry looked up from their book and looked up at the person and both boys smiled and shouted in unison when they saw who it was, “Oliver!”

“Hey!” Oliver took a seat on the bed that the two were sitting on, “How are you guys doing? How's quidditch? We’re still in the lead right? Can’t let anyone else win.”

“Oi!” Draco called, catching the attention of everyone, “I’m still here!”

“Oh yeah,” Oliver laughed, “Sorry ‘bout that.”

“Just pulling your leg Oliver,” Dracos mock anger faded, “ I couldn't care less about the house cup. Anyways, how have you been?”

“Thanks, I’ve been good. Busy year but now I’m on Puddlemere United.” Oliver smiled, “It's like I’m living the dream. But anyways I need to talk to you boys about something.”

“Yeah for sure anything. Shoot.” Harry said, mentally prepping for something bad.

“I am gonna- Er, I would like to marry Ophelia.” Oliver pulled out a ring box and showed it to the boys, “And I know she loves her family more than anything so I wanted your help with preparing.”

Alex could almost laugh at the hilarity of the situation, “Oh that's amazing. When do you wanna do it?”

“Today.” Oliver said definitely, “I wanna do it today.”

“You should do it after dinner?” Harry chimed in.

“Oh my god yes!” Alex snapped his fingers, “That's perfect. You got everything prepared.”

Oliver nodded and brought out a piece of paper, and the 4 boys got right to work in preparation.

A long while later the plan was set in motion. Alex would distract Ophelia and make sure that she looked perfect (Even though Oliver felt that she would look amazing no matter what she was wearing), while Oliver went to talk to Sirius and Remus.

Oliver looked in the mirror one last time as he smoothed down his hair and checked his breath. He patted his pocket just to make sure that the ring was still in there and he took off. He walked down the hall and paused at Remus and Sirius’ door, taking a moment to compose himself.

“You got this, Wood.” He whispered to himself before he knocked on the door. There was a faint ‘come in’ that he heard before he twisted the handle and was grateful that both men were there. Sirius looked away from the mirror and got up to give Oliver a pat on the back, “Hey! Haven’t seen you in a while, how's quidditch?”

“Quidditch is good.” Oliver nodded before nervously looking at the floor.

Remus, ever the therapist, looked up from his book and noticed his behaviour, “Is there something wrong Oliver?”

“Um, there is something that I did want to talk to you guys about.” Oliver said.

“What's going on?” Sirius asked as he sat down beside his husband.

“So, I wanted to, uh.” Oliver stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling out the ring, “I want to marry Ophelia, and I would like your guys blessings.”

Both fathers jaws dropped as Oliver began to ramble, “I know its kinda old fashioned and what not but she loves you guys so much and to be completely honest with you guys I would marry her without it because she-”

Remus cut him off with a hug, “You have my blessing Oliver, and let me be the first to say congratulations.”

Sirius stood up to join them, “You have my blessing too, but mine come with conditions.”

“Of course,” Oliver nodded.

“First,” Sirius started, “Hurt my baby and I kill you.”

Oliver curtly nodded at that and Sirius continued, “ And second, give her all the love and kindness she deserves.”

“I can do that.” Oliver smiled.

“You’re getting married!” Remus exclaimed excitedly.

“I’m getting married.” Oliver sighed.

“Can I pick out your outfit for tonight?” Alex rolled to lay on his stomach as he watched his sister do her makeup.

“Uh, why?” Ophelia asked as she put some mascara on.

Alex blinked a couple of times at the question, somehow he had forgotten to come up with an excuse to choose Ophelia's outfit. “Umm, cos I think you should propose tonight.”

“You do?” Ophelia asked.

“Yup” Alex nodded, “What a wonderful day, to pop the question ya know.”

“Y’know I did wanna do it at christmas time and then we could have a spring wedding.” Ophelia thought for a moment, “So you think I should do it tonight?”

“Yeah, at dinner.” Alex agreed as he dug through his sister's suitcase, “Everyone will be there, Like even Aunt Minnie and Poppy are gonna be there.” Alex paused when he spotted a piece of clothing he liked, pulling out a white dress with pockets, “You should wear this, it's super cute.”

Ophelia turned around to look at it, “Oh yeah, I like that one, it’s really nice”

After a couple minutes Ophelia was ready and did a little twirl for Alex, “So what do you think?”

“You look beautiful,” Alex smiled, “You excited?”

Ophelia walked over to give him a hug, “So excited.”

Dinner was pleasant despite the ball of nerves that both Oliver and Ophelia felt. Both of them had planned to pop the question right after dinner, but Oliver looked visibly impatient and nervous. About halfway through dinner, he looked to Alex who was seated across from him, letting him know that he was gonna jump the gun. Alex looked confused for a moment but once he realised he nodded and smiled.

Oliver tapped his glass with his fork, “Um, Hi everyone, I’ve got an announcement to make.”

Everyone, surprisingly, went silent.

“Oh,” Oliver let out a nervous chuckle, and he looked to his girlfriend, who seemed ever so confused, “So I know the most amazing women in the world, she's smart and kind and she is the greatest in every way possible and I am so lucky to be a part of her life.” Oliver turned to face Ophelia as he felt tears of happiness prickle his eyes, “Ophelia, I love you and I want to be by your side forever and always” As he bent down on knee, everyone collectively gasped while Ophelia had begun to cry too, “Ophelia Black-Lupin, will you give me the honour of marrying you?”

Oliver's proposal was met with lots of happy tears and some laughter as he watched Ophelia reach into the pocket of her dress and pull out a ring box, she laughed as she smiled and showed him the ring.

Oliver's tears also became laughter as he shook his head, “So I’ll take that as a yes then?”

Ophelia grabbed his face and pulled him into a kiss, once the two had separated she exclaimed, “Yes, it's a yes.”

He smiled as he put the ring on her finger and as she put his on his finger, Oliver then stood up and yelled, “We’re getting married!”

His exclamation of joy was met with loud applause and whooping from the rest of the table. (and a couple of tears from a few people) After the announcement dinner was practically over and everyone decided to celebrate with dessert. Everyone had transitioned to the living room for a more relaxed setting. There was a happy feeling in the air as all the cousins sat together discussing the engagement.

“So you were in on it?” Ophelia asked.

“Yup!” Alex smiled, “So was Harry and Draco and Dad and Pop.”

“Wow it‘s like everyone knew about my engagement except for me.” Ophelia laughed, she stared at the ring on her finger, it feeling new and weird yet excited on her finger.

Oliver kissed her on the cheek, “So I take it you like the ring my love?”

“Yeah,” Ophelia looked into her fiancé’s eyes and sighed, “I love you.”
