Note
I fell completely in love with Honkai Star rail and usually I just read, but Cocolia/Serval hit just right with their angst, that I had to write something. This is my first Fanfic and my English might not be the best but I hope you enjoy! This might be a multi-chapter, but I'm writing this in the middle of the night hyped up alcohol and inspiration. No Idea if I can even get another chapter out!Anyways I'm going to be

Chapter 1

Cocolia

Ever since she was young, Cocolia knew the mantle of responsibility she had to bear as the heir to the Supreme Guardian was heavy. Not to mention the constant whispering from the stellaron, granting her visions of impending doom, and the hopeless future that lies in wait for Belobog. However, despite these circumstances, she persevered and continued on with her education and training. In an effort to learn more about the Stellaron and the truth behind what it represents she decided to begin research into Belobog's History. And it was there that she made her first real friend.

At first glance, you could say that there was nothing that they had in common other than being heirs to a legacy. But, perhaps that's exactly what brought them together. Serval's rambunctious behaviour dragged Cocolia through a lot of trouble at first, but what started from an unwilling friendship eventually evolved into something more. From greetings on the way to their classes, to having lunch together and ultimately staying in each others dormitories. Of course all of which was initiated by Serval, for the longest time Cocolia tried to reason out why so much attention was being placed on her specifically. Despite spending weeks brainstorming, she decided the best course of action was to simply ask Serval. "No reason, I just thought you looked interesting and wanted to get to know you better." The straightforwardness surprised her, was there really no ulterior motive? Did she really want to know her as Cocolia Rand and not as the Heir of the Supreme Guardian? And for the first time in her life, Cocolia opened up to someone.

'Tis the prelude to despair, anguish flourishes in the known, companionship only makes isolation that much worse.

"Lia!" Serval shouted as she burst into her dorm room, "I had an epiphany!" Cocolia puts down her book with a sigh, turns around and leans on her chair.

"Val... Inside voices please, and do be a dear a make sure the door is closed before you continue, we wouldn't want to disturb the neighbours."

Serval face lights up as she closes the door behind her, and excitedly walks over to Cocolia quickly grabbing her hand. "So... I had this idea... What if we started a band? With your amazing writing I know we'll be a huge hit!" Cocolia startles and looks at Serval still gripping her hands tightly. Her mind starts racing, compiling multiple excuses as to why that was a horrible idea, and that they barely had enough free time to do anything let alone play in a band. Then she screws up, she looks into Serval's eyes, those beautiful sky blue eyes that she always gets lost in. Once again, she's lost at sea, and yet again she's drowning. Years of experience dealing with the politics of being the heir to the supreme guardian, but alas she can't get a simple 'No' out to her friend, her BEST friend. It just doesn't make any sense, she can't keep her heart rate down, and the constant yearning to have Serval by her side... She must be sick, thats the only explanation. Oh no, she's been caught staring at her for too long. She has to do something. So regrettably she nods her head to Serval's request. Serval shrieks and hugs Cocolia tightly, lifting her up and out of the chair she was sitting on. Cocolia's head is tucked tightly into Serval's neck. Oh Qlipoth have mercy, Cocolia's sure that she's having a heart attack now. "Oh thank you! I already have a plan to set up the band!"

She takes a step back and take a deep breath, finally realising that no oxygen was reaching her brain for the last minute or so. "Val... It's not much of a band if its just the two of us, and besides I doubt my writing is that praiseworthy." She tries to reason with Serval, she made a mess already, but with this at least she can make a safe recovery. Gently let her down like she was supposed to from the start.

"Oh Lia, you don't have to worry about a thing, anything you write will be a masterpiece and Dunn is going to join us as our Keyboardist." Cocolia's heart sinks, Dunn??? Of all people she could have invited to make a band, she had to invite that moron. He's not exactly a bad guy, nor is he stupid, she has to admit he's also quite good looking. But none of that matters, she still dislikes the guy. It's hard for her to explain why, but that man's just not good enough, especially for Serval... Wait where did that come from? She's just trying to look after her friend, make sure she finds someone good enough for her, yeah that's it, it's perfectly normal for her to be concerned. Just a normal friend thing to do. She deserves someone who understands her, and has good future prospects fitting for someone with the Landau name. No one would be good enough for Serval though, they'd have to at least be on the level of the Supreme Guardian...

Your path's diverge from one another, are you willing to drag her down with you to the depths of the abyss?

Cocolia shakes her head, damn Stellaron picking the worst times to try and get into her head. "Really? You invited Dunn before me?" She pouts at Serval. She doesn't care that much, okay no maybe she does care a bit.

Serval chuckles, "Of course not, you're the most important person to the band after all." Serval brushes Cocolia's hair to the side, and holds cocolia's cheek in her hand. A tint of pink blooms on Cocolia's face, darkening the longer Serval holds her.

"Am I only important for the band?" she asks meekly. Unsure of what exactly it was that she wanted to hear from her... best friend.

"To me as well..." Her heart skips a beat. "You are my best friend after all..." she breathes out softly, still smiling at her. Except it was all wrong, the smile didn't reach her eyes.

Once more her she's left breathless. She's sure of it, Serval's an assassin turned by dissenting parties to her inheritance. She doesn't know when they contacted her, but she's sure of it. Sooner than later, her heart's going to give in, and yet... that doesn't sound to bad right?
