The Wake: Inside
Fueled with anger and concern, Nick Lewis Jr is seen barging in the nightclub and looked for Janice Foswell
Nick Lewis Jr: Where are you? Where the hell are you?
As he looks around, Nick suddenly hears a loud sound he recognizes
Janice Foswell: WOOOOOOOEEEE!
Nick Lewis Jr: Huh?
Nick turned and sees Janice all appearing drunk and dancing with a couple of older guys in their twenty's as they are seen flirting with her
Older Guy 1: Yeah!
Older Guy 2: Come on girl!
Older Guy 3: Shake those puppies for me!
Janice Foswell: YEAH! KEEP MESSING WITH ME!
Seeing Janice dancing with these men as they frisk her has caused Nick to feel angry while holding his fountain pen tightly. Seeing a large bottle of alcohol on a nearby table and picks it up. Approach one of the old guys that's frisking her from behind as he lifted the bottle while walking on the dance floor and smashed his head real hard, with the bottom half of the bottle into pieces

Older Guy 2: Huh!?
Janice Foswell: What!?
Older Guy 3: Whoa!
Janice and the two other older guys watched in shock as the one older guy fell onto the floor with blood coming out of his head. With Nick still holding the smashed bottle, as the dancers all stopped and watched in shock, including Janice who saw what Nick had done

Nick suddenly used the broken bottle and slashed older guy 2's face, as he fell onto his knees. Nick dropped the broken bottle and took out his fountain pen as he opens the top and stabbed older guy 3's eye with it while his attention was to the 2nd older guy

Nick kicked the Older Guy 2's face and grabbed his hair as he kept on repeatedly punching him until his teeth broke. The Older Man 2 was lying on the ground in pain, as Nick turned to Janice who appeared shocked by his sudden ferocity as he grabbed her arm tight

Ignoring her pain from his grip, Nick drags Janice out until a Wake club guard
Wake Guard: Hey you

Suddenly, Nick reached his pocket and pulled out a gun. Pointing at the Wake Guard as he backs off, while Janice was shocked by it

With the Wake guard moving out of his way, Nick leaves the club from his way in while Janice was left stunned by what has happened

While he has brought her outside and puts away his gun, Nick drags Janice in front of him and starts yelling at her

Punisher then puts away his gun, as George wonders about something as he speaks out
George Stacy: So you all know each other?
Moon Knight: That's right. Each of us was part of a different system of society. Punisher you knew already as a cop, you knew mine already as an NSA agent turned whistleblower, and Wraith here was a SHIELD agent
Wraith: And now we work together outside the system to ensure the safety of the streets and its resident. Things that we do what we couldn't from within the system
Punisher: That was over ten years ago, and there were more then three of us then
George Stacy: More of you?
Wraith: Some of them retired and moved to somewhere else. Some… died along the way
Moon Knight: Cardiac, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi, Daredevil… Nightwatch
Punisher: Good People they were
Wraith: And now this happen and we don't know what to expect
Moon Knight: I know what you mean. I've already felt something not right. Something else is at play here
Punisher: He's not the only on. I've been following a lead that led me here, and whatever Moon Knight is feeling has added enough of the situation. Something's not right here
Wraith: You think this whole gang war was made on purpose?
Moon Knight: I think so. Maybe that's also the reason why there's a mole in the NYPD. They were placed by someone we've never encountered before
George Stacy: Great. This is more then enough reason for me to worry
Moon Knight: Speaking of, what are we going to do with him?
George Stacy: Of what exactly?
Punisher: Wraith, why bring the NYPD captain in this?
Wraith: Because I think we need his help with whatever is going on and put a stop to it
Moon Knight: You want him to join us?
George Stacy: Wait, me? Join you three?
Punisher: What are you getting at here, Wraith?
Wraith: Out of all the people I know who has shown true dedication to this city and the community, George Stacy is perhaps the most responsible and hardworking man I've seen. He can be a great asset to this team
George Stacy: Team? Wait, I never agreed to be a part of this team. I just want help to keep my family safe
Wraith: So did we. Each of us banded together to form this team to keep people safe outside the system

Punisher: And I've heard you've even helped Spider-Man dealing with those villains you guys are after

Wraith: How exactly? You wanted to protect the city and keep people safe. You had no problem allowing another vigilante operating outside the system to stop crime . Some of the crimes you couldn't prevent as a cop
George Stacy: I understand that, but I'm still a cop
Punisher: But for what exactly, because my experience as a cop did not do well and my entire family are dead. There is a difference in that meaning now, and from where you stand this guy we're taking out knows who your family is
George Stacy:…
Wraith: George, we need you in this. Help us help you, and I promise your family will be safe and we can end this once and for all
Moon Knight: Besides, how bad can it be exactly?
George Stacy:… Can you guarantee my family's safety?
Wraith: That's why this team was formed. To protect people like your family and we need all the help we can get
George Stacy:… I… guess I don't have any other choice
Punisher: Well now that we're in the subject, how do we start exactly?

Just above them are a number of white scarab drones crawling from the building around them
George Stacy: What are these?
Moon Knight: These Captain Stacy are my Scarab Drones. I had them built to scatter across the city to detect any possible crimes
George Stacy: Surveillance drones? And you now have them across the city?
Punisher: Believe this. The Moon Knight works better with drones

George Stacy: Don't you worry that they'll be spotted?

Nico is seen entering a store selling costumes. Mostly based on prep parties, anime and manga, goth, and other forms of costume. Nico then approach the store owner

Nico Minoru: I'm looking to buy a costume
CosFriendPlay Owner: Excellent. What kind?
Nico Minoru: Just wondering if you have something that has a bit of a make-over

Could those criminals have a family to put food on the table? Could he have lost his job and wants to steal money to survive and pay the bills? Those are the things that need to be taken into consideration, and which is why they find wok in unexpected places. Even if it means you would have to kill for it. You cannot just simplify things and just label them as the criminal without knowing the reason for it. Criminals are not that complicated once you figure out the person underneath their skin, and what I've leaned is that there are two sides of thing from the same coin. There is no black-and-white world. There is only grey, and police and criminals have both of those. That is why crime will never stop appearing because sooner or later someone from either side will might spill first blood. That is the grey world we live in, and that is why power exist. So that order can be maintain, but the question is who will be responsible for it. That is something only god will decide

The Dragon Tail Leader attacks Mister X with his sword, but the attack was blocked as the two swords men duel it out. Meanwhile Diamondback, Typhoid Mary, and Bullseye took down nearly all of the remaining Dragon Tail members while the fire from Hobgoblin's pumpkin bombs spread

Typhoid Mary: I wish the Gwen was here. She would have dealt with them more aggressively

Mister X: Nice moves
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: Your skills are excellent as well, but do you really think you can take on the master!?
Mister X: Oh I don't know. I bet I'll have a shot
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: Hah. Your own pride will be your downfall
Mister X: Wasn't talking about my pride. I just know I'll have a shot. Unlike you, like your time in that village
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: W-What?
Mister X: Your own mother wishes for you to take over your father's business, but you were selfish and greedy that you would rather spend your family's cash on gambling and drugs. Your family found out and cut you off and handed the family business to your younger sister.
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: H-How did you-
Mister X: You were deeply pissed that you ran away like a coward that you are. Came into this country illegally and joined the local triad gangs here. Now here you are as a big shot leader of a notorious gang, you tried to contact your family from that village of yours. Instead of welcoming you back with open arms they disown you after they found out what you've become. Even your own sister wouldn't allow you to meet her children. While they happily lived a stable life you are stuck here knowing that with all the wealth and power you will never reconnect with the same family you abandoned
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: Y-You… YOU DARE SPEAK ILL ABOUT MY FAMILY!
( KABOOM )
Venom: AAAAAAGGGGHHH!
Ronin: Huh!?
Venom in trouble as both Hobgoblin and Typhoid Mary are both causing injuries by firing their explosive weapons at him
Black Cat: Hey, is that?
Ronin: Venom
Venom fell on the ground as he is trying to recover from his injuries, as Hobgoblin slowly approaches
Hobgoblin: I see you don't look so well
Venom: That… was… unpleasant
Typhoid Mary: Should I finish him?
Hobgoblin: No. Allow me
Hobgoblin takes out and sets up his pumpkin bomb to explode and prepares to end Venom with it. With a portion of the Symbiote still trying to recover as a portion of his skin and face was revealed
Venom: I… will kill you
Hobgoblin: No you won't. Goodbye you freak
Ronin: NO!
( WHAM )
Hobgoblin: AGH!
As he attempt to end Venom's life, Ronin intervened and knocked Hobgoblin down from his glider. Taking his pumpkin bomb and throwing it back as it explodes, with Bullseye, Typhoid Mary, and Diamondback taking cover
( KABOOOM )
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: Huh!?
Mister X: Hah!
( WHAM )
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: Oof!
Mister X: Got you
( SLASH )
In a brief moment of distraction, Mister X kicked the Dragon Tail Leader and quickly used his sword and cut of the gang leader's arm. Watching as the arm holding the sword falls down with the gang leader on the floor and now helpless in pain
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
Mister X: I told you I have a shot
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: AGH! YOU FUCKER!
Mister X: Before you go into the next life you should remember this moment well. You should have been a good boy and just take your father's damn business
Dragon Tail Gang Leader: I… I will not fall. Not like this! NOT LIKE THIS!
( SLASH )
Without hesitation, Mister X slashes his sword and cut off the Dragon Tail Leader's head. Flowing in the air as the blood flows with it as it splashes on the floor. Ronin and Black Cat watched in shock by what they saw
Ronin: No
Mister X: It is done!
Hobgoblin: Excellent work!
Typhoid Mary: Whoa! That was close!
Bullseye: Tell me about it!
Diamondback: BOSS! THIS ENTIRE PLACE IS FALLING APART! WE NEED TO LEAVE NOW!
Hobgoblin: Then we depart! Our job is done here!
Black Cat: Don't think so!
Black Cat jumps in and unleashed her claws and tries to land a blow, but Hobgoblin evaded and threw his throwing blades at her
Hobgoblin: TAKE IT!
Black Cat: Huh!?
( TBING ) ( TANG ) ( TSHK )
With his quick reflexes, Ronin manage to deflect the throwing blades. Protecting Black Cat from being hit, as Hobgoblin gets up, while Venom started to recover
Black Cat: Thanks… Ronin
Ronin: Don't worry about it. Venom, can you stand!?
Venom: If mean if I can break some bones, then yes!
Hobgoblin: Very impressive, Ronin. I was wondering when you would show up!
Ronin: What's your game in this, Hobgoblin!?
Hobgoblin: What every great empire does best. Become emperor to my new kingdom!
Ronin: Heard that before. Did not do so well, and this won't be any different
Hobgoblin: Oh yes it will, and Ill make sure of it when I've with all three of you
Black Cat: Like a guy in a make-shift goblin costume have a shot at that
Hobgoblin: I think you'll be surprised by what I'm capable of. X!
Ronin: ( spider-sense ) Huh!?
Mister X: You're mine!
( TSHK )
Mister X quickly raised his sword and was about to strike, but Ronin unsheathe his sword and quickly blocked his attack
Mister X: Well then
Ronin: Venom! Cat! Stop Hobgoblin!
Black Cat: You had to ask
Venom: Hah!
Hobgoblin: THEN COME!
While Ronin and Mister X fight with their swords, Black Cat and Venom start attacking Hobgoblin. Hobgoblin quickly jumps back onto his glider before Black Cat lashes her claws at him, with Venom firing his black web-bullets at him. Bullseye then sees Ronin fighting Mister X and appeared not pleased
Bullseye: The Ronin!
Typhoid Mary: Well I somewhat expected this
Diamondback: We need to leave now!
Bullseye: You run, but the Ronin is mine!
Punisher: Not going to happen!
( BLAM )
Punisher appeared with the other Defenders and fired his gun, with Bullseye, Diamondback, and Typhoid Mary
Bullseye: What the!?
Diamondback: Them again!?
George Stacy: My god… These deaths
Wraith: We're too late
Punisher: Stand still so I can shoot you!
Typhoid Mary: YOU FIRST!
Typhoid Mary threw a grenade at the Defenders as it explodes, with the team evading as George manage to grab and saved Wraith from the blast
Wraith: Agh!
George Stacy: You alright?
Wraith: I am. Thanks
Moon Knight: Take it!
Bullseye: You first!
Moon Knight threw his Moon shaped throwing blades, but Bullseye threw his throwing knives and deflected it, but did not stop them from trying to hit each other.
Bullseye: You got some nice moves! Didn't think anybody else could match my moves!
Moon Knight: You'll be surprised by what else I can do!
Bullseye: But that still won't make any difference, and I don't like somebody else stealing my trademark!
Diamondback threw her sharp throwing diamonds at George Stacy, who his firing his gun while Wraith tries to protect him with her long yellow ribbon
George Stacy: Damn!
Diamondback: This won't be like last time, Captain Stacy! I'll ensure that
( PTING ) ( PTING )
Wraith: That was close, you alright?
George Stacy: Yeah. Guess that makes us even
Wraith: Guess so
Lastly, Typhoid Mary and Punisher are seen firing their weapons at each other as they go to cover
( BBBBKKKKKRRRTTTT ) ( BBBBKKKKKKAAAAATTTT )
Punisher: Agh!
Typhoid Mary: Ugh!
Punisher: Heh. I though I recognized you!
Typhoid Mary: Punisher, or would you prefer Frank Castle!
Punisher: Mary Walker!
Typhoid Mary: It has been a while! I see you still breathe after all this time!
Punisher: So I see this is your new kind of business!?
Typhoid Mary: Something like that, but it won't matter once it's done!
Punisher: Not on my watch! I'll see that I… Wait, what?
Punisher then sees Ronin fighting against someone he recognize
Punisher: X?
Typhoid Mary: Ready to die!?
Punisher:… You first
With both coming out of cover, Typhoid Mary took out her weapons and opened fire, but Punisher took out one of his grenade and threw it. Taking Mary by surprise as it exploded at her
( KABLAAAAM )
Typhoid Mary: AAAAAAGH!
Caught in the explosion, Typhoid Mary landed on the floor with cuts and burns all over her body, as the Punisher points his gun at her but didn't pull the trigger
Typhoid Mary: Ugh! Ack!
Punisher: I would kill you right now, but it looks like I have to play guardian angel this time
Punisher left Typhoid Mary to get to Ronin, who is still fighting Mister X. Both appeared to have almost matched their skills as Ronin kept his distant from him
Mister X: Your skills are almost like a beginner, ninja! But you've shown promise!
Ronin: I wouldn't full the appearance
Mister X: But you've shown promise for a kid!
Ronin: Yeah I… Wait, what did you say?
Mister X: And a high schooler! Midtown Magnet High!
Ronin: H-How!?
Mister X: And what is this? You use to work for the Bugle too, and I wonder ( BLAM ) AGH!
Punisher sets his weapon to rocket launcher and fired near Mister X and joins Ronin
Mister X: Ugh! You shit!
Ronin: Punisher?
Punisher: Don't go near him! This guy's a mutant with mind-reading powers!
Ronin: What?
Mister X: Son of a bitch. Do I know you?
Punisher: Not much, but you knew a guy that once kicked your ass! Heard of the name Wolverine!?
Mister X: That guy!?
Meanwhile, Hobgoblin still flying on his glider and fired his weapons at Black Cat and Venom, who are still attempting to land a blow at him to no success
( BTAM ) ( BTAM ) ( BTAM )
Hobgoblin: YOU MISSED!
Venom: HOLD STILL!
Black Cat: LOOK OUT!
Hobgoblin brought out his glider's gatling gun and opened fire, as Black Cat and Venom quickly evaded into cover
( BBBBBKKKKKKAAAAAATTTTT )
Venom: Whoa!
Black Cat: HOLY CRAP!
Hobgoblin: HAHAHAHAHAHA! IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!?
Black Cat: WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!
Venom: I'LL THINK OF SOMETHING!
Venom sees almost the entire lair in flames, and quickly looks around to find something, and sees a rocket launcher nearby
Venom: There we go
( TWIP )
Firing his webbing, Venom picks up the rocket launcher and got out of cover, which Hobgoblin spots
Hobgoblin: Huh!?
Venom: EAT THIS!
Venom fired the rocket launcher, but instead of hitting Hobgoblin as he evaded the fire the rocket instead hit the lair's infrastructure. With the building already in flames began to slowly fall apart
Hobgoblin: What the!?
Black Cat: Oh crap
Vanom: Damn. I missed!
Suddenly, a portion of the lair's infrastructure started to collapse. Falling near were Ronin, Punisher, and Mister X were
Ronin: Whoa!
Punisher: Shit's falling apart!
Mister X: BOSS!
Hobgoblin: I know! EVERYONE! DISPERSE!
Hobgoblin flew towards Mister X and picks him up, with Ronin and Punisher unable to get to him, as the debris and flames blocked their view to them
Ronin: They're getting away!
Punisher: Fuck!
Mister X: ANOTHER TIME, NINJA!
Hobgoblin: YOU ARE LUCKY WE'VE DONE OUR PART HERE, BUT NEXT TIME WILL BE YOUR LAST!
Hobgoblin flew out on his glider with Mister X, as the debris from the lair's infrastructure is falling down around the. Giving time for the other villains to make haste
Wraith: This place is falling apart!
George Stacy: We need to leave!
Diamondback: Another day you two and it will not go well for either of you! BULLSEYE!
Bullseye: Yeah I know!
Moon Knight: Leaving so soon!
Bullseye: I'll gut you next time!
Both Diamondback and Bullseye escape the fiery lair, as Wraith turns to the other remaining heroes while more of the lair's debris is falling
Wraith: ALL OF YOU GET OUT NOW!
Moon Knight: QUICKLY! THIS WAY!
Black Cat: You don't have to say that again!
Venom: PEACE OUT Y'ALL!
Punisher: Let's move kid!
Ronin: Lead the way!
While evading all the debris from falling, all of the heroes manage to escape, until George Stacy hears a cry for help
Young Gang Member: Help!
George Stacy: Huh!?
Young Gang Member: HELP ME PLEASE!
George turns and finds a surviving Dragon Tail gang member with his leg broken, and appeared quite young for his age, as he tries to crawl his way out
Young Gang Member: GOD! PLEASE!
George Stacy: HANG ON! I'M COMING!
Wraith: GEORGE!
George Stacy rushes in to help the young gang member up and carried him in his shoulder
George Stacy: I got you kid. I'll get you out of here
Young Gang Member: T-Thanks man. I-I mean it
George Stacy: Don't thank me just yet
While he carries him, a small portion of the debris fell from above as a large debris is about to fall on George and the young gang member. Moon Knight took notice of it and yells out
Moon Knight: CAPTAIN STACY! MOVE NOW!
Young Gang Member: Oh god!
George Stacy: Get out while you can!
Young Gang Member: W-What!?
George suddenly threw the young gang member out of harms way as the large debris started to fall above him, with the others watching in shock
Moon Knight: NO!
Wraith: GEORGE!
George Stacy: Lord, be with me
Ronin: NOOOO!
Before the large debris was about to land on him, Ronin jumped and intervened. Manage to grab George out of the way just before the large debris collapsed on them
( KKKKKRRRRRAAASSSSHHH )
Wraith: GEORGE!
Punisher: KID!
Black Cat: RONIN!
Young Gang Member: Oh god! Wow
George Stacy: *cough* *cough* Agh…
Ronin: I know. You okay?
George Stacy: I should have retired from this
Wraith and Black Cat rush to them
Wraith: George, you okay!?
George Stacy: I'm fine. Thanks to him
Black Cat: Ronin
Ronin: I'm alright
George Stacy: Both of you carry the kid out! We'll follow
Wraith: Alright. You
Black Cat: Let's just do this fast!
Wraith and Black Cat quickly carry the young injured gang member out, with Ronin and George following
Ronin: That was a close one back there
George Stacy: Yeah… Thanks, Peter
Ronin: Don't mention… Huh?
George Stacy: Focus here, Peter. We need to get out now!
Ronin: R-Right. Fine!
Ronin and George made it out of the lair, along with all of the heroes as the lair began collapsing, but unknown to them is the barely injured but alive Typhoid Mary. As she is seen crawling out from another way out just before all of the area is now in flames and falling apart
Typhoid Mary: Not… done… Not… yet
( BBBWWWWAAAAKKKKKRRRRRRAAAASSSSSHHHH )
Dragon Tails Lair: Outside
While in the air, Mister X and Hobgoblin sees the Dragon Tails Lair in fire and completely destroyed
Hobgoblin: With that, our victory is nearly within our grasp. You've done well, X. I'll see to it that you'll be heavily rewarded
Mister X: Just delivering what I'm paid for
As they are about to leave, Mister X then spots an orange curly-haired man with a camera near where the lair is. Quickly reading his mind before he's out of radius as they are now gone. On the ground, all of the heroes got out before the entire lair collapsed in a fiery blaze
Black Cat: That was close
Venom: The orange goblin got away
Moon Knight: We'll catch up to them, but right now we take a breather
George Stacy: But not too long. We need to leave soon before we raise suspicion
Ronin: Yeah…
George Stacy:… Thank you, son… For saving me back there
Ronin:… Don't worry about it
Somewhere in New York:
Greenwich Village
A limo is seen arriving in front of a large mansion and coming out is Sun Wukong, who walked to the front entrance and opened the door
Inside Mansion
Sun Wukong enter to see the hallway filled with old artifacts and a stairway, but what caught his attention is an old painting of what appears to be the previous owner along with his wife. As he looks at it an old man of Asian decent appeared to greet him while speaking in Chinese
( Speaking in Chinese )
?: [I see you admiring the portrait of my master and his wife]
Sun Wukong: [I remember meeting him the first time. He had a damn fine mustache and a nice red cape. His wife was pretty fine looking too. Hell I even flirted with her for a time]
?: [I remember. The master did not like you one bit, but you left on good terms]
Sun Wukong: [Yeah… Still can't believe they're gone]
?: [Everyone must go sometimes, but life still carries on]
Sun Wukong: [Like water from a river that makes a stream]
?: [A light that radiates brightly from glass that spreads like roots from a tree]
Sun Wukong: Hehehe
?: It is good to see you again, Sun Wukong
Sun Wukong: Same to you, Wong. Same to you
AUTHOR'S NOTE: My god, this chapter is finally done. Sorry about taking so long, but I had to rewrite this chapter for like 8 times already. I have to constantly try to work out the plot and rewrite portions of it. Also I'm still having troubles with the fight scenes. It looks sort of weak to me, and I had trouble getting it right
Seriously, it has been a nightmare for me to try and figure out how am I suppose to lead this chapter towards the end of this volume. Other then that I think I might have figured out some portions of the plot that will lead to the ending of this volume. Also, I had to pack in as much as I can, which now I have possibly the longest chapter I've done so far, because I want to get to the one thing I wanted to do. The long-awaited Prom story and who Peter goes out with, and it will be in the next chapter
Now introducing in this story is the "Defenders", which you now know of the three members, and George Stacy will join this group, and now he revealed to Ronin that he knows his real identity as Peter Parker. Interesting moment there because if you've paid attention then you would have recognized that scenario with the large debris as the moment were George Stacy would have been killed when he tries to save a young boy from harm. A similar trait from both the 616 and the 1610 version on how he died. Now that he lived because of Peter as Ronin and not Spider-Man how would the story change and what will lead George? That you'll have to wait and see
Another is the introduction to Wong, who I was requested to add, and he will have a role involving what is going on, and how does the gang war fit in to all of this
Sorry about the long delay, but like I sad. I need to put as much as I can into this so that I can move forward to the prom story, which will be in the next chapter. I also have other stories that I need to do, and I'll have less focus when I try to do more then one story
Thank you all for sticking with me through this, and to let you all know that this volume is half done. Don't ask me to include anymore heroes, because I need to get this volume done soon with what I got. However, the next chapter will include a new player into this whole gang war and how it will lead to the next volume. Enjoy
