Day 5 and 6

When the team sat down for breakfast, Magneto seemed to be in a very good mood.

“Why are you so happy?” Cyclops asked.

“I just think it’s a beautiful morning” Magneto said before taking a sip of his coffee.

Logan placed his hand on Cyclops' shoulder and spoke, “You don’t wanna know.”

“Since you’re in such a good mood this morning, maybe you could do me a favor after breakfast” the Professor said sitting beside him.

“Of course, anything for you, Charles” Magneto said, smiling and placing his hand on Xavier's.

When they finished and Morph stood up, Logan did too.

“Hey bub, can you come to my room for a second?” Wolverine asked.

“Sure, just let me grab my jacket.”

“Don’t go for it, just come.”

Morph raised an eyebrow. What could Logan possibly want them to do in his room that couldn’t wait one minute for them to grab their jacket?

When they entered Wolverine’s room, he grabbed a bag from beside his bed and handed it to Morph.

“Oh, a bag! Thanks, Wolverine” Morph joked before opening it. Inside was a light blue jacket with a shearling collar. “Wait, isn’t this yours?”

“Yeah, but I never wear it, so I thought maybe you could use it” Logan explained.

Morph put on the jacket. “How does it look on me?”

“A little big on the sides,” Logan said, adjusting the open parts of the jacket “but you look good.”

“Better than you in it?”

“Definitely.” Logan looked up, meeting Morph's eyes directly. They stared at each other for a few seconds, both blushing.

“Thanks” Morph said softly, and Logan just nodded.

Meanwhile, outside the mansion, the Professor and Magneto were together.

“A little more to the left” Xavier said, watching Erik use his powers to fix part of the school’s roof.

“I am the master of magnetism; I should be doing more important things” Erik said angrily. “Why didn’t you ask Jean Grey to do this?”

“Jean’s busy, and you said you’d do anything for me.”

Magneto huffed in annoyance.

“Besides, I really like that new suit of yours” Charles said with a smile Watching Magneto's back

Erik smiled at that and floated closer to Charles. “Oh, I see. You just wanted to enjoy the view.”

“I can do two things at once” Xavier said flirtatiously.

Erik gently caressed the Professor's cheek before giving him a kiss on the lips.

“Don’t get distracted; you’re not done with the roof yet” Xavier said, and Erik just huffed again.

Morph had returned to their room still wearing Logan’s jacket, running their fingers along its edge. They touched the soft collar and brought it close to their face. Even though Logan rarely wore it, it still smelled like him, probably because he kept it with his other clothes. Morph blushed a little and wore that jacket all day, something Logan definitely noticed.

But that day, Morph wasn’t the only one to receive a gift. When the twins arrived, they brought a small bag and handed it to their father.

“For me?” Erik said, confused.

“For us, our culture is very important” Wanda said. “And these days, you’ve been showing us traditions from a culture we’re also part of.”

“So, since it’s the season of giving, we brought you something” Pietro added. “To share some of our other culture with you too.”

Magneto pulled a red shirt with purple details from the bag.

“It has your colors” Pietro said.

Erik stepped closer to the twins and gave them a tight hug. “Thank you, really, thank you.”

The two were surprised at first but then returned the hug. Wanda placed her hand on her father’s shoulder while Pietro gave him a few quick pats on the back.

It was the sixth day of Hanukkah when, in the morning, Logan stopped Jubilee in the living room.

“Hey, kid!” he called out, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I need you to distract Morph this afternoon.”

“Why?” the young girl asked, confused.

“We’re planning something special, and if they’re here, it won’t be a surprise.”

“Sure. How do I distract them?”

“I don’t know. Take them for a walk or something,” Logan said with a shrug and a frown.

“I could invite them to do something, but I don’t really have money to go out.”

“Here.” Logan pulled ten dollars from his wallet and handed them to Jubilee. “Take them to play video games or whatever you do at the mall.”

So, after lunch, Jubilee and Morph were walking around the mall, stopping to look at one of the store windows.

“So… you and Logan…?” Jubilee said.

“What about us?” Morph asked, growing a little nervous.

“Come on, it’s obvious how you two look at each other” Jubilee said, starting to walk again. “I mean, you’re wearing his jacket right now!”

“Logan… has he said anything about me?” Morph started following her.

“He’s told me more about you than about Jean” Jubilee said. “Not that I don’t think Jean’s great, but I have no idea why Wolverine even liked her.”

Meanwhile, back at the school, Logan had gathered Gambit, Jean, and Magneto in the kitchen to explain that he wanted to make a special dinner.

“Is this gonna be your gift for today?” Erik asked, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.

“Yeah, I thought you could tell Jean and Gambit how to make some traditional Jewish food” Logan explained.

“If we cook something, wouldn’t the gift be from us?” Gambit asked from one of the chairs.

“I’d do it myself, but I don’t know how to cook” Logan said.

“So, you want us to do it, but you’ll lie and say you made it?” Gambit said again.

Logan started getting angry. “You’re doing this on purpose.”

Jean stepped in before Logan could unsheath his claws. “We can all cook together, and you can say it was your idea.”

“Gambit can help” Gambit said, standing up.

When Morph returned with Jubilee just before dinner, they were surprised to find the table filled with different Jewish dishes. They sat beside Logan and watched as Magneto explained the dishes to his children. Morph turned to Logan, who was smiling at them.

“It was my idea, and I helped a little, though Magneto gave the recipe, and Gambit and Jean did most of the cooking” Wolverine explained.

“Really? What did you do?”

“I made sure nothing burned and stayed between Gambit and Jean so they wouldn’t argue” Logan said, and Morph laughed.

The shapeshifter placed their hand on Logan’s arm, making him blush. “Is this my gift for today?” Logan nodded.

“You told me your mom used to cook some of these dishes when you were a kid, so I thought…” Morph still hadn’t moved their hand, and it was making Logan nervous.

Morph leaned a little closer. “It’s a very sweet surprise and a wonderful gift, Logan. Thank you.”

The kitchen was full of people, but for a moment, to Logan, it was just him and Morph. Everything else blurred, and all he could see was Morph’s beautiful face in front of him.

“Thank Gambit too” Remy said, passing by, and Logan scowled when Morph pulled away.

“Thanks Gambit” Morph said with a laugh before calling toward Jean. “And thank you, Jean!”

After dinner and lighting the candles, Magneto, the Professor, and Morph walked the twins to the school gates.

“We’ve been here enough times to remember where the door is; you don’t have to walk us out” Wanda said with a smile.

“I know. I just like doing it” Erik replied with a smile of his own.

“See you tomorrow” Pietro said, grabbing his sister and running off.

“Pietro looks a lot like you when you were young” Charles said.

“So Magneto was handsome before? Who would’ve thought?” Morph joked as they walked back inside.

“I’d say he’s still handsome” the Professor said, touching Erik’s wrist.

Magneto moved his hand to hold Charles’. “I can say the same about you, my love.”
