Power
Robbie felt the power that was held in the bracelet be used, it was like a deep tug at his being, stopping him dead in his tracks, but he couldn't track the feeling, he knew the multiverse was a thing but, he never thought something of his would fall through like that. It was the only thing that made sense to him, the multiverse took something of his throwing it through and, had it land in another world, he just hoped who ever had it, had their own Doctor Strange to help them with those powers until he could find away to contact them himself.
Hughie woke in the docks, he was covered in the blood from the baptism, he panicked seeing it and, when a dock worker found him, he was quick to tell him what happened, stating he must have passed out in the blood, he stated with panic he had no idea how he ended up there. He wasn't taken to a hospital but to Vought's medical bay, because he had gone missing at Believe Expo right before chaos broke out in the form of a storm bringing metal skeleton on fire based on witnesses and videos.
The doctors determined that Hughie was alright not a single injury was on him, he was just shaken up do to what happened. Hughie did see Homelander while down there, he was even more worried seeing Homelander with two limbs broken, but he was let out, cleaned up and with a new change of clothes, he didn't return to Butcher or the rest of the boys as he was trying to figure things out, trying to put the pieces together as to what happened.
Robbie with help of Wanda was able to tap into the bracelet's location through meditation.
Hughie was walking down an alley when he was startled by a twisted voice, the sound of metal grinding against metal hitting his ears, it sent fear into him like nothing else, when he looked he saw the chrome plated skull of leather clad being that was shorter then him, but that did little numb his fear, though he did notice something, they were translucent, he could see through them and if Hughie had to guess, he might be able to put his hand through it.
"You found what is mine, because of this you are a new Rider." They spoke hissing slightly, they almost seemed annoyed.
Hughie didn't know what they were talking about, but before he could ask they pointed to the bracelet.
"T-This? I-I got it at Believe Expo....I-I-I didn't know it was y-yours I'm sorry, you can have it back." Hughie said nervously, as he watched them waiting for an attack.
"I can't, I am not here, I'm only showing myself to you because you need to learn about the powers you now have a hold of before innocent people get hurt....well I doubt that will happen, but people with minor sins might get hurt by you because right now you can't tell the difference between the two." They spoke calmly, well as calmly as they could.
"I......I burned down Believe Expo....Oh...Oh God what have I done?" Hughie went over to the wall, sliding down it as they crouched next to him.
"Its not your fault, you don't have control yet, fire might not be the most dangerous element but it is a trickster, a cleanser and enhancer, you don't tame the flame you use it, those with the power can only manipulate it but never control it, you however, my Rider, you are one with the flame, you are its equal not its master." They spoke as they stood back up looking at Hughie.
"S-so your going to teach me?" Hughie asked, he was scared and confused, he knew they could see that.
"Yes, I do my best to train you, but I'm not the best to be learning from, I have a lot to learn too, But don't let that bring you down, you can do this, you will be one of the best Riders." They said, pride filling his words, giving Hughie some hope as well.
The next night Hughie was in an abandoned building, it used to be some type of office building or something similar, it was going to be torn down in a few weeks, the entity appeared before him again, like it had in the alleyway, Hughie looked at them he was messing with the bracelet a bit.
"Alright, What's your name again?." They asked.
"Oh uh, I don't think I gave you my name, but its Hughie." Hughie responded, they nodded a bit.
"Robbie, now Hughie I want you to focus on your ha- no focus on your love, the people you care about, the people you cared for, focus on their love for you, your desire to protect them, you want for justice, focus on your family and friends." Robbie stated, hate wasn't the only fuel for a Riders fire, any emotion can be the fuel to the flame.
Hughie did as told, he focused on them all but most importantly he focused on his father and Robin, he felt the heat of the bracelet before the fire, his skin melted as fire engulfed him turning him into the being from Believe Expo, but he was in control of his body, he looked at Robbie confused.
"Why didn't I have control before?" Hughie asked.
"You were feeling negative emotions, hate, fear, those made you loose control or, maybe just didn't allow you to have it at all." Robbie explained before adding. "Its why I didn't tell you to focus on hate and fear, but love, justice and protection. positive feelings to help you keep control, keeping focus on that for now until you feel confidant to focus on anything else."
Hughie nodded a bit and followed Robbie's instructions, showing control over not just fire but also the other three elements, showing his strength by punching through a cement pillar with ease, though they didn't know he was being watched, doing this training, following Robbie's movements using the bracelet that now looked like a shackle on his wrist, he was able create a length of chain thin and thick both aflame and not and, use it like a weapon easily breaking though concrete he was also able to create a weight at the end of the chain to create more damage.
Black noir had been on patrol with Starlight when they saw the light in the abandoned building, they had gone in to try and get who ever was in there out, they didn't expect to see the entity from Believe Expo training, they saw it punch through cement, and ripping a chain through concreate. When they stopped taking a small break they watched as the entity went to another pillar before kicking through it in a roundhouse, the fragments of stopping in mid air as the entity turned them into projectiles and sending them through a wall.
Starlight took a breath before stepping out and making herself known to them.
"Hey!" She called out.
They stopped and looked at her, tilting their head at her.
"I want to know why you attacked Believe Expo!" Starlight demanded, arms crossed over her chest.
"...I have no answer for you..." They stated.
"Really?! Really? You have no answer for why you showed up, destroyed so much property, injured people, disrespected God's chosen and attacked the leader of the seven?!" Starlight was getting a little heated.
"God's chosen? You know in a round about way that would be you, because God told Raphael to create two of the three spirits of vengeance, and from there we pick people to give a small amount of our powers too, so in a way, you are God's chosen, not them...if you were able to hurt one that means they aren't as well, they would be unable to sin, without angering God." Robbie stated, Robbie had already let Hughie know that he was the only one that can see him at the moment.
"Starlight, you are not God's chosen...If you were, I wouldn't have been able to hurt Homelander, you wouldn't be able to sin, and Homelander's soul wouldn't be rotting from within." Hughie remembered telling Homelander that, and he remembered the smell of the man's soul.
"...What?" Starlight was confused.
"Yeah his soul is so bad I don't even know what to do with it, he's lucky I didn't kill him....I should but...." They stopped speaking for a moment, the burning embers of their eye sockets seemed to drift.
"You don't have the heart to kill, your not a killer Hughie, but that's alright you can punish without killing, I will teach you later." Robbie said calmly.
Starlight was processing this information and, she just silently left, to stunned to speak, Noir just followed her as they went back to the tower, Hughie was left feeling bad for telling them that but Robbie offered some comfort, as he ended their training and, Robbie told Hughie to go home and get some rest.
