Elements
Hughie was looking down at the city, using his powers to ride the roaring storm itself, he felt like he was flying or floating in a way he was but he was still finding joy in it, the whipping winds making his fire dance in away that would hypnotize anyone, making them lost in the flame, his Jacket almost looking like a cape as it was flapping around as he moved through the sky, as far as he knew he was the only one in the skies that day, to be fair with this weather no one would be in the skies.
Robbie had told Hughie that very few Riders rode anything another then animals, vehicles or anything of the like, Hughie felt special hearing that, he had been told how many Riders there had been in the past and knowing that he was unique in that way, similar but different all the same, he was now a part of a long history of people given true powers by beings beyond his or anyone's full understanding for that matter.
Hughie let himself free fall, arms open wide as he dropped, he used the updrafts to carry himself back up and brought himself away from the city to a forest and, waited for Robbie to appear like he knew he would, he was alone Robbie would know this, Hughie had a lot to learn about his powers. Just like he knew Robbie would, he appeared only Hughie's flame lit up the area.
"Now...Hughie tell me what element is the most dangerous?" Robbie asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Uh...Fire right?" Hughie asked.
"No...Water is." Robbie responded.
"Huh? But fi-" Hughie was cut off by Robbie.
"Fire burns brightly, and hot, yes....but it is rare in nature, I already told you how it is a cleaner and, enhancer and, trickster." Robbie said as he moved around Hughie, Hughie was keeping his eye on Robbie.
A-Train had spotted the being from Believe Expo heading to the woods, he followed and was now watching them, hiding in bushes so they were unseen, he watched as they moved like they were watching someone or something move around.
"It had been used by humans for millions of years now, heating their homes, cooking their foods, lighting up the dark, but even with all its uses, it still not the most dangerous...air, earth, are in some ways more dangerous then fire, but the most is water, for only air is spared from its will, as you see earth is carved by the water, water takes multiple forms, ice, snow....did you know there is a river that is boiling hot? It kills anything that enters its waters." Robbie spoke as he looked at Hughie.
"I see, but fire burns people and animals, destroys homes, lives. People with bad enough burns will die from them...but water?" Hughie tried to voice his reason, to A-train this being was crazy and talking to themself.
"Water is everywhere, its danger is clear riptides, whirlpools, tsunamis, avalanches, black ice, ice that seems thick enough to stand on but breaks when you are in the center of a lake, a small puddle can drown a person, there are many other examples I could give, if you want." Robbie offered, as he looked at Hughie.
"I...Alright you make a point, but some people might not agree with you." Hughie stated.
"I know, but this is more for you to understand, you are one with the elements now, you can use all to your will, you might want to try to part the nearest body of water." Robbie stated with a chuckle.
"Alright is this a lecture or are you going to teach me something new?" Hughie asked, chucking slightly.
"Hush, now focus on the plants around you and the earth under your feet." Robbie stated.
A-Train watched as the plants started to shift when they seemed to focus, their flame turning a nice green color as the trees started to bend toward him while the ground shifted and started to move, Robbie watched and was more then impressed with Hughie's work, with only little focus.
"Muy bueno Hughie, now I want to see you create, something small, a flower." Robbie requested.
Hughie just nodded a bit as bit before kneeling down, he held out a hand, his flame grow slightly as the ground started to shift, a plant started to grow twisting and turning, forming into a bright white spider lily, along with a few white foxgloves and roses. Robbie clapped a bit as Hughie looked up at him.
"Perfecto! I want you to know Hughie, your powers aren't about destruction they can be used for creation as well.....don't say creating bodies." Robbie sighed and, rolled his embers.
Hughie just gave a chuckle as he looked at Robbie, he stood up and stretched a bit.
"I will keep that in mind, now what's next?" Hughie asked, ready for more.
"Alright, try that rock, turn it into something else." Robbie instructed.
Hughie picked up a small rock, he focused and made it shift into a small rock fox, it stretched and moved on its own, Robbie clapped happily, he felt pride build in his chest as he saw how good Hughie was doing already even with such small steps, they would be major leaps to those who got their powers from whatever was going on with Vought, he kept the little rock fox on his shoulder as she started to manipulate other plants, rocks and the earth itself as he practiced his powers a little more, with Robbie's encouragement.
A-Train rushed back to the tower and met with Edger telling him what he saw the being from Believe Expo practicing, training in the woods while talking to themselves, almost seeming like they were following orders or instructions by something unseen, Edger thought a moment before telling him that he should go and extend an offer to them and see if they will join the Seven, putting him in place of Translucent, A-train didn't feel to good about doing that, but did as told rushing back to where he saw them.
Hughie stopped what he was doing when A-Train ran up to him, but stopping before he was struck, Hughie flinched slightly expecting to be hit or rather ran through by A-Train, he looked at him, watching as he seemed out of breath, putting a hand on his chest.
"He looks like he's gonna have a heart attack....Make a choice help him, heal him or let him fight through it....I know you want revenge but, remember what I told you about that." Robbie said softly as he looked at Hughie, Hughie just sighed as he walked over to A-Train.
He moved A-Train's hand putting a hand on the center of his chest, and on the middle of his back, his flame turned a golden yellow as A-Train felt a warmth flowing into his chest, his eyes glowed sightly, as his pain was lifted and once they moved away from him, he didn't have that tightness anymore, A-Train looked at him confused but grateful.
"Thank you, uh...Stan Edger wants to invite you onto the team, he's willing to look past what happen at Believe Expo." A-Train offered.
"No, you don't work for anyone, you work for self, you take orders from no one but God themself, you are a Rider." Robbie said his flame rising slightly.
"....Tell him I will under a few conditions, if they aren't met or are refused, I will not join, and they will be my target, and lets make something clear." Hughie looked into A-Train's soul, getting his name. "Reggie, the only reason why I helped you, is because I'm going to fucking break you, a heart attack will not kill you before I do." Hughie hissed in A-Train's face, sending him running.
"Are you sure you know what your doing?" Robbie asked.
"Yes....I think so anyway." Hughie responded.
"I have faith in your judgment, you seem to be the strongest Rider I have met so far, Hughie." Robbie said before adding. "You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on the road ahead of you. If people are in trouble, you will help them, you will do all in the powers you were given to do so." Robbie disappeared.
