Honestly, Dick hadn't even been thinking when it happened— and isn't that some kind of miracle, when he's always thinking (and let's face it, overthinking) every action, every word, every impulse that crosses his mind?
In a different, more cynical moment in time, he might have blamed Joey for it, accused him of making it impossible to think, or controlling his actions, or any number of the paranoid ideas that play on loop in the back of his consciousness at any given moment.
Here and now, though, he just relaxes into the kiss, and with it, into the freefall sensation that allowing himself to trust someone brings.
