The thought.
The two traveled the planet, Black being the more adventurous one. Black loved exploring the planet, seeing it all in its glory. There was one thing that bugged Black though; the lack of life on the planet. It seemed that White and Black were the only form of life on the planet. “Is there really no other specimens on here?” Black stared into the sky. It was nothing but a blanket of stars with the sight of other planets. “It appears to be none other than us living here.” White replied. A frown appeared on the darker gem's face. The gem looked up at the other planets that were visible in the sky, her eyes narrowed before she looked at her companion. “Do you think those planets have any life on them?” Such a simple question yet it had no answer. There was no way of knowing if there was any life for them. It wasn’t like they had a spaceship or someone to go survey the planet for them. It was only then that Black had an idea about what to do.
“What if we found a way to go to each planet and survey them for life?” Her face brightened up as a smile appeared as she looked at White expectantly. “We could also... make our own gems?” The only question was how? Neither of them had any experience – or the knowledge – of how to make gems. “How would we be able to create our own gems without any way of knowing how? We don’t even know how we were created.”
White knew that Black was right, but even so White knew that there was some kind of process used. Even if it wasn’t by them directly. “There's a possibility we could use the core of this planet to create gems. When I was emerging, I noticed that I was buried in the ground. If we figure out the process used to create us... We can mimic it and use the process to create our own gems.” While the idea seemed great, there was unfortunately no way of figuring out how they were created. “It's a great plan... Although, we have no tools to figure that out. And the way we were made may not even work on some gems.” Black started pacing around the area, deep in thought. White wasn’t entirely sure if creating new lifeforms was even possible – let alone an innovative idea.
“Are you entirely sure that we should even be creating gems in the first place? They could rise against us... Rebel, even. Or we could get so caught up in having power over the gems that we become tyrants-” Black put a finger up to Whites lips, shushing her before her spiral got longer. “Your concerns are valid, White. If we keep ourselves in check, we won’t have that problem. As for rebellions... That only happens if a gem is unhappy with how we’re handling things. Allowing gems to be able to voice their concerns and for us to listen and come to a compromise with them can allow make sure that the gems will stay compliant to us,” A leader that was willing to listen to its people would have the happiest empire. This is what Black believed, it wouldn’t be fair to the gems of the empire to face such tyranny. It would be just cruel for them to go through something like that.
And cruelty was not something Black Diamond would tolerate in her presence.
