Chapter 9
“I am going to do that,” Tony decides. One day before he and his other self switched back. They talking through the devices, discussing more safeties for their swap tomorrow.
The other Tony, from across the dimension replied, “Do what? Kill yourself?”
It was a bad jokes. But, i dunno. Maybe because the Avengers in this world is very supportive and humble, Tony doesn’t feel a joke like that offensive nor it wounded his self-respect. He already knew it was a joke. It felt nice to be in healthy environment, he should say... “No, i just... I will tell Steve how i feel?”
“You’re gonna steal my husband?”
“God, No!” Tony cried out. He listening to other Tony giggles, he grumbles and then continues, “My Steve. From my world.”
“Good. Why did you have to make it sounds like this is gonna be your last wish, then? Are you not confident we will make it tomorrow?” Other Tony ask.
“I just... Well...” Tony wet his stone-dry tongue, trying to form an appropriate choice of words. “Your world is very... Supportive. Like, i can’t spend a straight 24 hours in the workshop without having someone goes in to bring food, drink, dessert, and force me out for a walk.”
Other Tony giggles. “I know who did that. Annoying, but their puppy eyes skill already on next level of human can do. It’s hard ro reject them, especially if Nat is backing them, fold her arm infront of her chest.”
Tony chuckled. “Yeah, the image alone is enough to terrify me.” silence. Tony can imagine how he will miss this Natasha. Because if he able to get back tomorrow, there’s will no Natasha anymore. Just Black Widow. The thought makes him slumping in his chair, a bit.
“I am not sure about Nat, but i can assure you, Steve in this world like you enough to worry about your well-being,” other Tony crack the silence.
“Well, maybe that because you scare him.”
Other Tony shrugged. “Maybe. But i can’t believe we can scare the Captain America.”
“True that.”
“You can consider this as your opinion. If you can’t believe me, then whatever your opinion about yourself, you should question that too,” said Other Tony.
“But you didn’t experience what i did, and nor i experience yours.”
“Yes, that’s why we can see each other problems in a neutral side of ourselves,” Other Tony replied. “Like seeing a movie or film that have nothing to do with us. We can judge the situation more objective because we did not have feelings to either of them that causes us to make bias opinion.”
Tony take in the words of his other self, actually agreed with that in silence. “What do you have to say about my life, then?”
“Amazing, absolutely wonderful, that must be the first thing,” other Tony pipes up, “Second, full of drama, i should say.”
“What?”
“I will not give you full spoiler of your life. I will just give a hint. The rest, you gonna find out yourself.”
“Why are you talk like my life is some kind of teen novel?”
Other Tony chuckled, “It really seems like it, though.”
“Damn you,” Tony curses.
“Whoops. Bad words, don’t forget to put the money in the piggy banks on the top of communal room counters. Or JARVIS will terrorize you. Or me. Because we will swap tomorrow, i refuse to make that my responsibility.”
“You are petty, you know that?”
Other Tony scoff at that, “Ain’t gonna take your sin as me.”
“Fine.”
“Back to the topic,” Other Tony says, “In my opinion, Steve thinking you were disgusted with him.”
“What??” Tony asks, vehemently. Because that is the most ridiculous and wrong thing can be. No way Tony be disgusted with him. It's more understandable if it’s Steve who disgusted with Tony!
“It’s fact. This is educated opinion. Because, you know, he just make an emotional confession about it to me. I bet my Clint to you, that he has feelings for you. You should try ask Steve.”
“What if you’re wrong?! What if he doesn’t? And i ended up make a fool of myself?”
“Then i will give you Clint from my world,” Other Tony say it with a firm seriousness.
