Chapter 1
Izuku sputtered awake with a sharp gasp. He had fallen asleep… somehow, despite being very careful to stay awake. After all, he had to keep the villains away from the rest of class 1A.
The cityscape around Izuku wasn't one he recognized. It… it sort of reminded him of photos he's seen of pre quirk era America, but also post quirk era America in an odd mix of sorts. Odd.
Sitting up with a wince, Izuku shielded his eyes against the sun…
And noticed a definitive lack of his hero suit’s gloves. This sparked an intense panic within the hero-in-training.
He didn't have his hero costume?
How?
Where was it?
Where was he?
Izuku's mind was foggier then it should be and oh shit yeah no that wasn't good he had more cuts and whatnot than he bargained for, and way more than he remembered getting. How? He had no fucking idea.
Izuku dragged his feet through the seemingly endless alleyway, pausing down to assess his wounds. He had a pretty bad gash on his side, along with a plethora of other injuries that looked… pretty bad. His love of hospital beds would hopefully help, but not now. Not when he had no fucking idea where he was.
Izuku leaned heavily against the brick wall, shuffling forward. He couldn't give up now. Even in this strange city (it was a city, right?) he was almost certain that All For One and his villains would find Izuku. (If it wasn't a city, then what the fuck was it?)
The vestiges were silent for once, something that Izuku hadn’t realized until now. Shit…?
None of his quirks could seal his wounds, which was a bad thing. Combined with the teenager's exhaustion, and the greenette had a decent chance of collapsing at any given moment.
Suddenly, Izuku was very aware that he was being watched.
Something… no, someone dropped into the alley Izuku found himself in, causing the green-haired teenager to whip around to the best of his current abilities. A person in a red and blue suit(?) stood there… were they a hero? Hopefully they were, and not a villain with a mutation quirk or just a villain in general.
“Hey. You alright?”
The words caused Izuku to pause. That was English, wasn't it? Fuck, he was too tired for this.
“U- uh… no.”
He couldn't be bothered to say anything more, not when there was the much more pressing matter of staying awake.
The potential hero took a step towards the greenette, who flinched backwards in turn. He couldn't trust them, not until he asked the defining question. In English, unfortunately.
“…Are you a hero?”
The… lenses? Of their suit squinted as their head tilted downwards, as if double checking they were in their suit and not in something else. Odd.
“Uh… Yeah! Spider-Man.”
Spider…man…? I've… never heard of that hero before, even if they… they are American… who are you, Spider-Man?
Izuku's thoughts were hard to follow. The world started spinning, fuck.
He stubbornly clenched his jaw, slamming a fist into the wall to keep himself standing. Because of this, at least two bricks when put together had a suspiciously fist-shaped indent.
“So… Hospital, I assume?” ‘Spider-Man’ motioned towards the wounds that littered Izuku's body like decor.
“Cuz you ain't looking the best, bud.”
“I noticed.” Izuku muttered, looking away from the hero.
Something about ‘Spider-Man' made him feel anxious. They seemed like a hero that would be ranked really high on the American leaderboard, so how didn't Izuku know about them? He checked the Pro Leaderboards in other countries quite often, so why didn't he know ‘Spider-Man'?
“Where am I?” Izuku questioned, his tone more biting than he intended.
‘Spider-Man' paused, before answering Izuku's question with their own. “You sure you don't need a hospital? Some of those injuries look…” The hero trailed off for a few moments, before finishing their thoughts. “Pretty bad.”
Izuku stubbornly shook his head. “...no, no… I'll… be okay.” Thank Kami for Yamada-Sensei and his English lessons.
‘Spider-Man' tilted their head up and down in a way that made Izuku feel like he was being looked over and analyzed, before nodding knowingly. “Make sure to bandage them before they get infected, alright?”
They shot one last look at Izuku, before shooting a web (was it a web that came from their wrist? Is that their quirk or support gear?) and swinging away.
Shuffling out of the alleyway at last, Izuku flinched at a sudden, loud sound.
Had a villain found him? Shit, there were too many civilians nearby! Blackwhip, float… He paused, seeing everyone around unresponsive. Even the hero from earlier, ‘Spider-Man', hadn't swung back around and come to help.
Turning to face the origin of the noise, Izuku had to take a double take to make sure that yes, that was a lady with quite possibly one of the weirdest mutant quirks he had seen in a while. (Okay, not the weirdest, but still.)
Also, yeah, literally no one reacted to the lady, which sure it wasn't all that strange considering Izuku lived in a superhuman society but once again, she was causing a disturbance.
The lady with a snake tail instead of legs looked around like she was searching for something, although nothing seemed to fit her… criteria, whatever that was.
What was that thing Aizawa-Sensei always said?
“Kami… I need a raise.”
Oh great, Izuku got lost in his head again and the lady noticed him. “Ooorrr not I guess she didn't see me-”
Izuku didn't get the chance to finish his sentence (in Japanese because he's still too tired for any of this shit. Mainly English, no matter how fluent he is.)
And oh hey a civilian was…
did they turn a pen into a sword? Is that their quirk? How does it work? Does it only work on pens or—okay nope bad time to try and analyze quirks really bad time yup yup!
Once again, nobody reacted. Maybe this was a support heroes quirk! But why would it not affect Izuku? Did they get to choose? Izuku was sure he wasn't known internationally (save for the whole Flect Turn thing, and that's even if he is in another country and not some obscure place in Japan.) so why would a Pro use their quirk on everyone but him? Oh shit the lady with snakes-for-legs made a beeline for Izuku.
He felt a sharp sting in the back of his head, being forced out of an analysis-induced internal monologue to get out of the way using a full cowling boosted jump, much to the surprise of the person with the pen quirk.
“Ohhkay, so you can see through the mist. Noted.”
Despite his exhausted brain, Izuku could see that the… older teenager(?) had striking seafoam green eyes paired with jet-black hair swept to the side.
“So, ah, you mentioned the mist? Is that the name of a support hero's quirk or is it the name of a support hero and oh–right you probably don't know Japanese and I've been rambling in Japanese.” The only reason Izuku had realized he started rambling in a foreign (to the pen quirk person) was because they shot Izuku a puzzled look halfway through.
“Oh. Shit.”
And then the exhaustion, blood loss, and days without food caught up to the greenette.
Now that was a lot to process. Though honestly, Percy should've seen it coming given the gods' habits of throwing their problems at him.
So now, not only did he need to dust a monster in a public space, but someone had made a green-haired, green-eyed teenager who was probably Japanese his problem. Great, just what Percy needed on a Friday. Gods, he was going to be late to his date with Annabeth, wasn't he?
