The beginning
Luigi pulled at his collar as he looked around the ballroom. It was truly magnificent, decorated in yellow and orange with gold accents everywhere, but filled with people who were either drunk or too fancy to speak with. He stood near the dessert table and snacked on the various foods which he couldn't even say the name of and watched as his brother danced with Princess Peach.
Suddenly, some man dressed in fancy clothes and jewelry came up to him and began to speak. "What's a pretty boy like you doing here all by yourself?" He asked Luigi as he handed him a drink that Luigi eyed with suspicion. It appeared to be perfectly normal, but you can never be too safe. "Uhm- I came here with my brother, I'm not alone." He said as he eyed the man, trying to decifer his intentions. "How about I borrow you for a sec? I'm sure he won't mind.." The man said as he tried to place an arm around Luigi's shoulder but he was quickly shrugged off.
Meanwhile, Daisy was listening to a noble tell her that she would never get a husband if she kept 'acting so masculine' and trying not to hit them. From across the room she saw Luigi's attempt to shrug the mans arm's off his shoulder and thought of something. She thought of something devious, something oh so mischievous and yet oh so wonderful. She rushed over and doing herself to Luigi's arm and smiled up at him.
"Luigi! There you are! I've been looking for you! We need to talk, c'mon!" She said and dragged him away before him or the other noble could say a word. She dragged him to a different room, and pulled him in front of her so she could look at him. "Gee, thanks for helping with that guy back there, what did you need to talk to me about Your Highness?" He asked her, looking down into her eyes, watching as a mischievous grin grew on her face. "Oh please, drop the formalities! I have a plan to keep you from getting hit on by creepy people and to stick it to those people that keep saying I won't be able to get married because I'm 'too masculine' or whatever." She said, using a mockingly high pitched voice when she imitated the rude people.
"I'm not sure I like where this is going..." Luigi trailed off, furrowing his eyebrows slightly. "Oh hush it! I was just gonna say I think that we should pretend we're engaged!" She said with a smile. "Yep. I knew it. How is that gonna solve my problem, huh?" He asked her, to which she simply rolled her eyes before replying. "No ones gonna make moves on an engaged man! Especially not someone engaged to a princess!"
"I mean.. You are right.. But-" Luigi spoke before being cut off. "But nothing! C'mon Luigi! We can even break it off if you end up falling in love or something, and you won't have to deal with creeps in the meantime!" She said, grabbing his arms. "Fine. Ok, I'll do it."
