The second one
A few days later, it was announced that Luigi and Daisy were engaged. They had told Mario and Peach their plans before, obviously, but no others knew the engagement was fake.
Luigi spent the next week or so at Daisy's castle to help sell that they were in love and definitely not because Daisy wanted to have a sleepover that lasted a week. The rest of this chapter will be from the point of view of the background characters that don't have any context.
"They must be in love! Look at how he looks at the princess!" A Goombo said to another. "I heard they went flower picking together! Isn't that the most romantic thing you've ever heard?" The other Goombo said. "I also heard that when Princess Daisy sees Luigi she hugs him, as soon as she spots him! No previous rulers have been this affectionate with each other, or taken each other on dates like this, they must truly be in love!"
"I heard he reads to her! Isn't that so sweet? I wish my husband would read to me!" The first Goombo said with a huff. "Oh, and guess what? Jeremy, y know, the royal seamstress? They told me that Luigi and Princess Daisy are going to Princess Peaches costume ball as Princess Peach and Mario! But with Princess Daisy as Mario and Luigi as Peach! Isn't that brilliant?"
Meanwhile, at Browsers castle, he was planning to kidnap Princess Peach during her costume ball. He was going to disguise himself as a non-koopa prince so he could get in the castle, then he would talk to the Princess and swiftly take her back to his castle! It was brilliant! Nothing could go wrong!
In other news, at Princess Peaches castle, they decided to dress up like Daisy and Luigi, with Mario as Luigi and Peach as Daisy. They thought it was perfect. I'm sure you know where this is going, you're smart children, aren't you?
Luigi and Daisy sat in Daisy's bedroom as Daisy tried to put makeup on him. Key word, tried. "Stop squirming! I need to find out what makeup looks good on you so you look like a princess and not a goof!" She said, holding Luigi's face tightly to keep him from moving. "Ow-! If I didn't know better I'd think you were trying to tattoo my eyeballs! Ow!"
"That reminds me! I heard Mario has a tattoo on his shoulder from a toad that walked in on him in the shower, is that true?" Daisy asked as she kept applying eyeliner. "Yep, I tell you, mama nearly had a heart attack when she saw it!" He said with a small chuckle. "Oh my gods, I knew it! Peach has always been into 'bad boys', kinda like you!" She said, using air quotes on 'bad boys'. Luigi flushed pink and gave her a light push on the shoulder.
"Says the woman who goes weak in the knees when a pretty lady smiles at her!" Now it was Luigi's turn to get shoved. "Hush! You're hardly any better! Just the other day I had to practically hold you up because you saw a tall guy!" Daisy said with a playful smile, looking at Luigi who now had glittery eyelids and false lashes and bright red lips. "La puttana!" Luigi said playfully with a small laugh and flushed cheeks that were hardly visible under his makeup.
"Ok ok, how do I look?" He asked, looking at Daisy. "I don't think this red looks good on you, I have a pinker shade we could try if you want?" Daisy said, wiping off his red lipstick and holding up a pink lipstick tube. Luigi simply shrugged before speaking, "You're the one who knows stuff about makeup here, I don't mind."
