What if the Arthur we know wasn't the Once and Future King? What if it was his son, Arthur II? Arthur grows up without ever knowing Merlin until the day his son turns ten and the old physician Gaius dies or retires, but not before he summons the son of an old friend to be his replacement and maybe the young Prince's occasional tutor? Enter full grown and fully trained Merlin to meet his destined charge - and the hot dad.

Headcanon that in the happy endings land where Arthur lives to be a great King and Merlin to be his Court Sorcerer, on days when Merlin is feeling particularly playful or grouchy, he'll cast his aging spell and spend the day as Dragoon.
