Party Time
The next days passed without much exiting stuff happening. Naruto and I met a few more times and we got to know each other quite well until it was the evening of Shikamaru’s party.
At around 6pm I left my home and made my way to Naru’s place. As I stepped outside I noticed it still was quite warm. Really warm for October. I probably should’ve checked before I left. I picked a pullover and a long jeans, since I expected it to colder outside. Since I already was late, I decided to ask Naru for some lighter clothes later.
It wasn’t really far to his place, so I got there in no time. I rang the doorbell and shortly after the blonde opened the door with his usual smirk. “Hey Naru, how are u” I greeted him. “Great, what about you Kiba?” “Same… Ehhm would I mind lending me some lighter clothes?” He was about to turn around to make way for me to come in and stopped mid movement and turned back to me, to look at me. Raising one brow he answered: “Sure, you are gonna get a heatstroke in those. Come with me to my room and we’ll choose something.” I followed him and waited on his bed, while he searched his closet for some clothes.
It took us a little while until we found something suitable for me, since our tastes in clothing are quite different. I like to wear mostly dark colors, while he prefers bright and vibrant colors. In the end we settled with some dark blue shorts and a shirt that had a wolf painted in blue and pink neon colors on it. Not really something I’d normally wear, but I liked the motive and also we were going to a party, so a few colors wouldn’t hurt. As I changed I noticed Naruto was watching me the whole time. “Jealous of my body?” I asked him. He shrug, like he just heard a gunshot and blushed immediately. “Yes,… No, I mean sorry I was staring. I just was in thoughts.” Giggling at the funny and kind of cute reaction I waved aside.
Soon enough we arrived at the party. It was already going. We searched for Shikamaru to greet him but didn't find him. There were quite a lot of people around already, of which I knew just a few from school.
A couple of hours and a few drinks later we started to get a little “funny”. Normally Naruto wouldn’t be allowed to drink alcohol, since he was a year younger then me, but being here with me had some advantages. I always bought two drinks and gave one of them to him.
Some guys asked us out to play some beer-pong. Naru replied: “Yeah, sure we are in, aren't we?” “I don't know, I have never heard of it” “No worries, I'm going to explain it to you. It's super simple” he laughed at me. He was right, I pretty much instantly got the hang of it and it was a lot of fun. After a few rounds of which we lost quite a few, because I wasn't a great thrower and almost never hit the cups of our opponents we were pretty drunk.
I invited our opponents to have some shots with us to celebrate their victory. Over at the bar Naru introduced me to Shikamaru, the host of the party. He greeted me by nodding his head. “He's more of a quiet guy. But don't be fooled by that, he's actually a really smart guy” Naru told me. “I guess the saying 'Silent waters run deep' isn't there without a reason” I replied. “Yeah, this is probably why he's one of the few, that understands they don't need to be scared to share my parents fate just by being friends with me”.
Another couple of drinks later he suddenly excused himself that he needed to go to the toilet immediately. 'Oh this is bad' I thought to myself 'He probably had a bit to much'. Only then I noticed we haven't aten a thing since we came here, which didn't help the situation either. A bit worried and because I kind of feel responsible for him, since it was me who bought him all those drinks, I followed him to the bathrooms and saw my guess being confirmed. The door to the stall wasn't locked and I could so him kneeling before the toilet. I pushed the door open a bit more, so I could get in and squated down next to him. “Are you ok?” “Hmm-mm”, he answered but it sounded more like he was about to pass out then it assured me, that he was ok. I decided to stay here and keep an eye on him.
