New House-Ed Elric
OTP Prompt
Edward Elric
You had recently moved into Resembool, having enjoyed the small town – practically a village – since the first time you visited with the Elric brothers. It was the first place in Amestris that literally didn’t care that you were Ishvalan, and you were glad to visit, even though it meant Ed’s Automail needed work or just complete rebuilding. It was the town you decided to stay in, as the local alchemist and not the local Ishvalan, while Ed took off after demanding you stay where it was safe.
When he returned, he very, very, poorly proposed after you punched him for failing to regularly contact you as he promised he would. Alright, it was regular, but it wasn’t nearly as often as you had wanted, and you were angry with him for that. Ed laughed, hugged you, kissed you after asking if you’d moved on or not – of course you hadn’t – and then just simply asked you to marry him like it was part of a casual conversation.
“What?” The question caught you by surprise, that was the reason you didn’t immediately answer with yes.
That was when he started bumbling his way through a really bad proposal. You managed to keep yourself from snickering at first, then he brought basic rules of Alchemy into the risk. That was when you laughed so hard you snorted.
The house you had purchased seemed in nice enough condition when you first saw it, but it was still furnished at the time. Still, as a fairly young and new couple you weren’t exactly in a place to complain. Well, Ed was as you drew transmutation circles onto the wall with a pencil and placed the materials necessary for repair upon the circle on the wall and completing the repair. He never once regretted his decision to give up the ability to perform Alchemy, and he never would, but that didn’t make repairing the house the old-fashioned way any less tedious as you completed an identical repair in seconds.
“Just pound the nail into the wall.” You rolled your eyes so hard it actually hurt, and you were a little surprised they didn’t roll out of the socket, as Ed complained about moving onto the next repair. He turned to you, practically scribbling the transmutation circle onto the wall without making any mistakes, his eyes trailing downwards to your rear and your legs.
“I’ll pound you against the wall.” He thought he said that in his head, he really did, but then you turned to look at him.
“What?” you exclaimed as you turned to face him, still holding the nails and wooden plank against the transmutation circle as you gave your fiancé an almost baffled look. You almost couldn’t believe he said something so ridiculous, that was something Mustang would say. Considering how Ed's proposal was the verbal equivalent of falling down the stairs mouth first, you didn't think it was possible for him to be that smooth.
“Uhhh….” Ed froze as he turned to you, golden eyes wide as he struggled for an explanation. He seriously thought he said that in his head.
“I guess we do have to break in the house,” you sighed as you unbuttoned your shirt just enough to pull it off and drop it to the floor, a sly smile on your lips.
“Fuck, I love you.” Ed dropped everything and rushed over to you, picking you up and pinning you against the wall as you laughed, kissing you deeply as a grin traced his own lips.
All these years, all that hardship, and you could finally have your happily ever after.
