Dialogue Prompt

Hatake Kakashi or Uchiha Itachi

You had to lure the target out, and that resulted in the three of your pouring over his file.  That was how it became clear that there was only one surefire way to lure the target out.  You were beginning to think the powers that be already knew that, which was why this particular target was handed to the team of teenagers.

You felt naked just sitting out there in civilian clothes, you didn’t even have a hitai-ate, let alone your ANBU mask or sword.  You weren’t defenseless, you had your training and your Kekki Genkai, but it wasn’t going to be easy fighting in your violet dress, the skirt of it clinging to your legs and the long and wide sleeves practically hiding your hands.  Your hair was left down, letting you hide the communication unit you were wearing to keep you in touch with the rest of your team.

You looked really pretty, even with the angry pout and the way you sulked.

“You alright down there?” Itachi questioned, not liking the fact he had to use his own teammate as bait, but he knew it was the best course of action.  You all did, but that didn’t mean he liked it.

“Sitting around waiting to be kidnapped.  This is the best day ever.”  You resisted the urge to angrily cross your arms and impatiently pace as you waited for the damn creep of a traitor to show up, “How much longer do I have to wait around?”

“Until the target shows up,” your team captain, Kakashi, answered from his own hiding spot in the surrounding trees.  You used to have a high opinion of him, even admiring him, and then you started working with him on a regular basis.  Sure, he was good, one of the best even, but he could be such an ass that sometimes you just wanted to train with him for the opportunity to kick him right in that damn black mask he always wore.

“Better be soon,” you muttered as you angrily pouted, “I’m getting hungry.”

“When he shows up you’ll have something to eat and still have enough left over for whatever sacrifice you need to make to the dark lord,” Kakashi retorted immediately, followed by a long sigh from Itachi as he hung his head.  You couldn’t help but turn to glare at the tree you knew Kakashi was hiding in, and if looks could kill the team captain would be dead about a million times over.

One of these days the two of you were going to really go at it and kill each other, Itachi just knew it.
