The orphanage is as bad as her roommate, the matron-Kina ignores everyone and her roommates steal from her and everyone younger. They taunt and make fun of her clan markings, constantly taking her food and giving her scraps of it acting like she should be grateful their even giving her food.

Rin (ifshecanevencallherselfthat) only lasts 6 months before the 'White Ones' get her, it’s funny because technically everyone is white in the village but no their called the ‘White Ones’ because of their blank white masks.
When she first spots them she considers hiding out in the Red Light District, but then she remembers that she’s a child and David can’t protect her without getting noticed. Her roommates are ‘adopted’ by people who David says are just white masks under a henge, she’s given new roommates who like the last ones take whatever she’s given and leave her with scraps.
David is silent for the most part, almost like he’s not quite sure what to make of the situation. (It’s fine, he’ll understand theyallwill) A person with a white mask almost takes her, when the orphanage matron- Kina bursts through the door. The Matron screams in horror before she’s killed, she notices David floating above her and thinks ‘more blood on my hands, before I’ve even joined the Academy.’
What happens next is both the luckiest and strangest thing to happen in her 4 year old life. A ninja she identifies as Orochimaru bursts through the window and subdues the root-ninja, she almost scream’s but David’s hand covers her mouth. The room begins smelling like blood and it’s too much for her young body to handle so she throws up’ as the world slowly goes dark Rin wonders whether she’ll be reincarnated in a better world this time.
