Chapter 4
Naruto stayed sprawled out on the grass for a while, until he got kind bored. Naruto slowly stood up from the soft grass and walked back to his house, feet dragging, as the late night finally caught up with him. Still worth it, Naruto thought, lightly smirking at the memory of the fight from the previous night. Should I pick another fight? Nah, too much work, anyways gotta keep those wannabes on their toes.
He finally reached his house, as he was going to unlock his door, he, without turning said, "Kakashi-sensei, what a surprise."
His tone was completely flat as he said this, and Kakashi dropped down from a nearby tree, slightly surprised, but mostly just amused at the boy's dryness.
"Oh, hey there, Naruto," Kakashi nonchalantly said to Naruto, who in turn, just sighed and walked in to his apartment.
"Come on in, sensei. By the way, do you make it a habit to stalk people?" Naruto said, as he took off his hoodie and vest, neatly hanging them up.
Kakashi just laughed as he walked in with Naruto, he made himself comfortable, sitting down on Naruto's couch. Subtly, Kakashi scanned an eye over the apartment.
Naruto's apartment was very neat, the kitchen, which was very small, had its small selection of meat and produce put away; His living room, though very barren with only a couch, a chair and a bookshelf in it, was clean. Kakashi's guess is that Naruto's bedroom would be the same way, basic, but neat.
Kakashi was startled out of his thoughts by Naruto suddenly setting down a cup of coffee in front of Kakashi.
Naruto then sat down in the chair facing where Kakashi had settled down.
"So, sensei, why did you come to see little ol' me?" Naruto asked.
"Just wanted to check on my little precious genin." Kakashi said with a lighthearted tone, little did Naruto know, Kakashi was very curious about the son of his sensei who appeared to be quite interesting,
"Really, now?" Naruto asked, amused.
"Why would I have any other reason?"
Naruto just hummed and stared at his teacher. 30 seconds passed, then a minute, then two.
Neither of them were saying a word. Naruto was sitting there, arms resting on his knees, staring at his teacher, waiting for a proper answer.
Kakashi was getting a little uncomfortable with the energy in the room. The way this boy was staring holes into the side of his head was making him walk to squirm. It was like Naruto knew everything about Kakashi and was just waiting for him to confess. What kind of 12 year old had that type of all knowing stare?
Kakashi, after 5 minutes of dead silence between the two of them, broke the silence by saying, "Okay, it's about time for me to get a going. Icha Icha is waiting for me." A perverted giggle followed.
Naruto just sighed, "Whatever floats your boat, sensei."
With that, Kakashi vanished into thin air.
"What a weird guy." Naruto said, turning back to his kitchen to wash and put away the cup left from Kakashi's coffee.
Later on that afternoon, Naruto went back out to the training grounds, as the itch to beat the shit out of something was coming back. Wow, I really have issues. Naruto thought in his head. He just shrugged his shoulders and continued on his way to the training grounds.
When he got there, the Pokemon encounter music started playing in his head as he saw Sasuke there as well, also about to train. Naruto, who at the moment, didn't feel like talking to edge lord Sasuke, just ignored the boy and continued on his trek to find a nice hard tree to beat down.
Ooh that one is nice. Naruto found his tree and started punching. Left, right, left, right, kick, kick, left right. Naruto found himself getting into his rhythm and after a while, he was starting to relax, then he felt a tap on his shoulder, and he tensed again, Naruto whirled around and swept the legs of the person who came up behind him. He managed to catch himself before he smacked them once he realized it was Sasuke.
"Dude, don't do that." Naruto said, shortly, not liking to have his training interrupted. Sasuke looked shellshocked on the floor, not being ready for the sudden attack. Naruto reached down and heaved the poor Uchiha up.
"You good?" Naruto asked, slowly growing worried, not wanting an accidental murder of the last Uchiha to go on the list of reasons to hate him. There were already enough of those.
The Uchiha nodded and steadied himself on his feet.
"Good, now, what did you want?" Naruto asked, wanting to get back to his training.
"Your hands are bleeding." Sasuke said, cooly.
Naruto jut looked down and shrugged, "Not the worst thing that's ever happened to me. Far from it. Anything else?"
Sasuke shook his head and walked away, not looking back.
Naruto just went back to pounding away on his tree until the tree was flat. Then he took out a marker from his pocket and drew a little dot in the center of the flattened area. He backed up and started running around firing kunai one after another, hopping on tree branches, running up trees. He continued this until he thought his shoulders were going to fall off.
Then he spent another 10 minutes trying to leave but getting stuck because he had to leave on a bullseye and for some reason as soon as he tried to do it, he couldn't hit the center, exactly as he wanted to. He was hitting the center just fine up until he really thought about it. In the end, he finally got it and managed to head home before it got pitch black.
When Naruto finally got home, he made himself some food before settling down with a book about Chakra Control and reading and practicing some of the exercises. He managed to get the hang of it, well with the help of a late night realization.
Naruto had shadow clones, right? He also thought of something else. He heard someone say that the shadow clones were an infiltration jutsu. Naruto thought for a few minutes as to why that was the case. Finally, thinking about it for a little while, he realized that the shadow clones passed on their memories to the user.
Naruto silently thanked Tobirama Senju for creating it and continued on with chakra control with much more speed as there were more people working at it now. He could get so much done with this revelation.
One thought nearly made Naruto keel over. He could make so much money. So much. Naruto imagined all of the chakra theory, fuuinjutsu and ninjutsu books he could get and read if he used the shadow clones to their full potential.
Tonight was the night of realizations apparently because Naruto also realized that if he made as many shadow clones as he could, henged them and left them go off into the village, he could make money, AND expand his chakra pools even further from the humongous amounts they were already.
With the night on extreme realizations behind him, Naruto went to bed, excited for the day to follow.
