Chapter 1
Tobirama stormed into Hashirama’s house for their (mandatory) weekly family dinner, his usual carefully neutral face pinched in annoyance. Hashirama watched as his brother politely threw himself into his chair in a rare show of temper. “Tobi-” he managed to get out before he was interrupted.
“Why are people so ridiculous?” he demanded petulantly.
“Wha-”
“Why do I have to change my behavior to be more pleasing to the populace? I am efficient. My work ethic lacks nothing that I can divine. Yet it is still not enough! I can-”
“They do it to you too?” Hashirama interrupted what looked to be a spectacular rant forming.
Tobirama paused. They looked at each other and started what can only be called a whining competition of poor mimicry. Examples of which include:
“You need to finish your paperwork immediately Hashirama!”
“Emoting is a thing normal people do!”
“The Hokage should be more serious!”
“You need to lighten up!”
“Can you even walk with dignity or does it run from you?”
“Do you know what the word fun means? And I don’t need a regurgitated definition from that dictionary you swallowed.”
“Why can’t you be more like your brother?” They both finished at the same time.
They stared at each other in silence for a minute before a smirk crossed Tobirama’s face. The sight of it sent shivers down Hashirama’s spine. It did not bode well for someone.
“Why don’t we give them what they want Anija?”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know how we use the henge to switch with each other when a break is necessary from work, but still need to be seen at the tower?”
“Yes?”
“We already know how to act as if we were each other, I’m just saying that we do that without the henge tomorrow. See how much they appreciate getting exactly what they wish for.”
Hashirama thought to himself for a few minutes, drumming his fingers on the tabletop. “Let’s do it.”
“I’m just glad Mito is on her mission for another week. You cannot help but be yourself in her presence.”
“HEY! What is that supposed to mean?!?!”
“Do you have any idea how horrifying it is to see what looks like me acting that flowery?” Tobirama paused and tilted his head. He grinned at his brother. “It seems you’re going to find out tomorrow anyway!”
