It's been 3 years.
3 years since sasuke had left.
3 years since she had asked Tsunade to train her.
She's achieved things no one, including herself, believed she ever could. She's not the other one anymore. She is Haruno Sakura, disciple of the Legendary Sannin and 5th Hokage. A force to be reckoned with and the first to take down a member of the Akatsuki. She has done so much in these 3 years, and she did it without her team. So she knew she would be able to help Naruto bring Sasuke back.
And 1 year of being Naruto and Sakura.
It's her and Naruto now. The power duo. A friendship so strong and one that makes her heart fill up with joy.
She gives it her all during the war, healing and healing and healing again and again and again. Her hands permanently stained with the blood of those she couldn't save.
And killing and killing and killing again and again and again. Her hand battered and bruised from the craters she has caused.
With her new found power, the seal she has been working so hard for, she was invincible.
It was their turn to look at her back.
But once again they show up.
The Sun and the Moon. With powers never seen before. They save the world together.
And then she remembered, she never stood a chance.
They fight. After knocking her out.
They fight to death and then lay there in the sun, bloodied and bruised but smiling, as they bleed out.
Maybe she should've ignored them. Maybe she shouldn't have come. But she does anyways, because they are Naruto and Sasuke and she can never leave them.
she heals them but she's angry at everything at everyone.
She hates that she was weak.
She hates that she is always left behind.
She hates that it's always about them.
'I'm so selfish.'
She hates how she has no role in Sasuke's change of heart.
She hates how they always ignored her.
She hates herself for never being good enough.
She hates kakashi for never even thinking of training her.
She hates Naruto for being so positive, strong, lucky and everything she wants to be.
She hates Sasuke for breaking her heart, for never seeing her as an equal, for always labeling her as weak and for leaving them behind.
She hates that she loves Sasuke.
She forgives them, well as much as she could.
Sakura knows that it was foolish and selfish to think of something like this. But as she watches Naruto and Sasuke interact once again, she realized she was more of a replacement than Sai could ever think he was.
And they go back after they rest (she's still walking in their shadow) but this time with all 6 members of Team 7.
