The Nara Forest
“Shikamaru what is this? What's going on?,” Yoshino questioned her son with tears in her eyes.
The man standing next to her son she never expected to ever see him again. That man was her deceased husband Shikaku Nara. She knew what she saw when they brought his body back from the war he was dead.
“Shikamaru I love you I really do but you better not be fucking playing a damn joke on me right now cause it ain’t funny!!,” Yoshino shouted to her son.
“Why the hell would I be playing a joke on you like this I wouldn’t find the shit funny either!!,” Shikamaru yelled.
He was usually a calm person but certain things would get him to lose his temper. Such as his mom thinking that he would play a prank on her by using his dead dad. Well not dead anymore.
“I’m sorry I know you wouldn’t do that son I’m just a little shocked. So can you explain to me what’s going on so I won’t completely lose my shit ok.,” she sighed as she waited for Shikamaru to start talking.
“Well mom it going to be a long story to explain so let’s sit down and talk about it ok.,” taking his mother’s hand and guiding her to the couch.
“You!!,” she turned pointing to Shikaku.
“Stay out here I don’t want to stab your ass in case you are my husband.,” shitting the door in his face.
“And Shikamaru why are you guiding me to the couch as if I’m an old ass woman I can walk!,” she shouted to him snatching her hand from his.
Rolling his eyes Shikamaru explained the situation from the very being all the way to when he arrived at his mother's house.
"So that is what happened also Neji's parents is alive as well," Shikamaru sighed looking at his mom.
"So you telling me not only is your dad my husband is alive but also my best friend and her husband is back alive as well."
"Yes mom."
"And you're sure that they aren't zombies out to kill and get us."
"Yes mom what the hell have you been watching on tv lately for you to get that idea."
" Well I have been watching some crazy shit that's what and I know my ass ain't taking no chances son." she commented walking towards the door.
"Shit well you need to change your tv selections before it gets out of hand." He folded his arms looking at her.
"While you talking about tv selections where is Neji I know you didn't leave him out the door with the zombies," she chuckled as her son's eyes widen.
"Keep playing I might start to think they are really zombies." laughing he opened the front door for his mom.
"What are you laughing at since you left me out here in the cold with the "zombies" anything could have happened to me," Neji teased hugging his husband and giving him a peck on the lips.
"Oh really Yoshino we're zombies now!! I thought us being best friends you would know the difference," Nicole narrowed her eyes at her.
Yoshino jumped on Nicole hugging her. "You know I missed you a lot no matter if you're a zombie or not," she chuckled as she jumped down from her.
"Girl I'm not a damn zombie!! And also you were hugging me a little too tight.," Nicole laughed.
“Yeah I know anyways let’s get back to you sir.,” she turned to Shikaku.
“What about me,” raising his head to look at her.
Oh how she missed that look he gave her. That would brighten her days when he came back from missions. Damn, she still loved this man and hear she thought she wouldn’t have feeling for him after all these years.
Shit how she lied to herself. On the inside, her hellhound was happy as hell. Having seen their dead mate again when they thought it wasn’t going to be possible to ever see him again until death.
“Fuck it,” she ran and jumped on her husband kissing him shit she didn’t care if she thought he was something from the dead hunting her. All she cared about was seeing her husband, her mate again.
“I know I didn’t miss seeing that but as long as you’re happy,” Shikamaru said making a disgusted face.
“I agree with you dad nobody wants to see that grandma!!,” Sora yelled making the same face as her dad.
“Oh shut up you little gremlins,” Yoshino chuckled rolling her eyes.
At the hokage building
Shino was taking Asuma to the Hokage office so he could finally meet his daughter after being dead for nearly 18 years. He had taken the place of Chouji and Shikamaru because the two wanted to get home and settle their problems before anything got out of hand. So when they were walking to their destinations they saw Shino so they asked him to take Asuma to meet Mirai and Kurenai. So that is what lead him to be the one taking Asuma to be reunited with his family that he left a long time ago.
“So Asuma they will probably be pretty nervous you know since you were dead and everything,” Shino said.
“Thank you Shino but can you tell me some things about my daughter so I can know how to approach the situation,” he asked in a quiet voice.
“No need to be embarrassed you know things happened. So what do you want to know about her?,” Shino said stopping.
“What’s her age?”
“She’s seventeen.”
“Damn I been dead that long.”
“Mhmmmm”
“Shit I need a cigarette.”
“Well you can get one after this whole thing.”
“Ok so what’re her hobbies?”
“She’s done different sports.”
The pair started back walking towards the Hokage's office. As Shino continued to update Asuma on the many things that Mirai and Kurenai have done while he was dead.
“Well Asuma this is where we part ways you go in there and meet your daughter for the first time.,” Shino sighed as they arrived at the door of the office.
“Thank you Shino and wish me luck just in case things don’t go as planned.,” he winked walking into the office.
“It’s going to be okay Mirai I bet your dad will love you more than I lii oh be you know.,” Asuma heard Kurenai whispering to their daughter.
Asuma cleared his throat causing the duo to turn around and look at him.
“Hey,” Asuma said rubbing the back of his head.
“Hey,” Kurenai's voice was raspy since she and Mirai had their little mother-daughter moment just before he came in.
“Where’s Mirai Shino told me a little bit about her,”
Asuma was nervous he did want to meet his daughter but at the same time, he didn’t. He didn’t know how she was going to react.
Would she think he abandoned her or would she just think he was full of shit?
“Asuma!,” Kurenai yelled.
“Yes”
“ I know what you’re thinking.”
“After seventeen years you would think I would have forgotten how”
“I know you can read me Kurenai”
“Good now are you scared or nervous to meet her?”
“I’m scared”
“Why tell me before I call her back in here so you can meet.”
As they both sat on the couch Kurenai and Asuma continued to talk.
Mirai stood outside the office listening to her parents.
“Damn I feel like a creep,” she chuckled to herself.
“Fuck before I do something stupid let me call Nori to see what she thinks. I on know her ass won’t answer a text,” pulling out her phone she dialled Nori’s number.
“If she doesn’t answer I’ll just call big bro Shikamaru since he always has the answers for shit,” rolling her eyes she heard Nori’s voice through the phone.
“What’s up Mirai why are you calling me? Don’t tell me my dad was talking shit to you again. Cause if he was I’ll get my mom to beat him up.,” Mirai laughed.
“No Uncle Kakashi hasn’t done anything to me I can’t handle,” rolling her eyes.
“Well if it isn’t my dad what is it then you okay?” Nori knew when she wasn’t being herself.
She wasn’t even joking with her about her perverted dad. That’s how she knew something was wrong.
“Should have known you would know that something wasn’t right with me.,” she smiled knowingly.
“Well we are the same age and we grew up together so you grow to know the little things. Also, you’re my best friend!!,” Nori shouted.
“Did you have to shout though anyways what are you doing before I tell you what's wrong with me,” Mirai was playing with her hands waiting for the answer.
“Well nothing I was just downstairs getting to know my used-to-be dead grandparents. You know just a normal day in the life of the Umino- Hatake family.,” rolling her eyes.
“Damn and here I thought you wouldn’t have gotten the situation but your going through the same thing. The difference between your Situation and mine though is that my father is back alive. Which I’m worried about because I don’t know if he’ll like me or not you know.,” she laughed nervously.
“Alright talk to me and tell me everything,” Nori told her.
So Mirai started spilling her guts to her about how she felt all the way to her standing up against the door listening in on her parent's conversation.
“So yeah you see that’s why I’m nervous. And why I’m calling you so you can help me with this.,” tapping her foot waiting for Nori’s response.
“Well from the stories we have heard I don’t think your dad will be a bad person. He actually seems quite nice and cool. So you don’t really have anything to worry about girl.,” Nori smiled.
“You remember when my dad was telling us a story about him and his cigarettes.,” Mirai laughed at that.
“I remember,” she smiled.
“So if you remember then what the fuck are you waiting for go in there and meet your dad!!,” Nori laughed.
“Damn and here I thought I made the wrong decision being your best friend,” Mirai rolled her eyes.
“You’re sounding like your mom right now you know that right Nori.,” raising her eyes from staring at the ground.
“Shut up and go meet your dad and when I see you imma beat you up for saying that too.,” Nori laughed before hanging up.
“She’s definitely like her mom just won’t admit it,” rolling her eyes Mirai decided to go on into the office.
“Might as well get it over with right,” sighing Mirai opened the door walking into the office.
Asuma and Kurenai looked up as they heard the door open.
“Hey”
At the Uchiha Compound
“So you’re telling me you and Madara are together like as a couple!!,” Naruto yelled.
“Yes!! But we’re married Naruto,” Tobirama chuckled.
“But I thought you hated Uchihas though,” Naruto's eyebrows raised.
“Things can change Naruto”
“But Uncle your a stubborn ass person and during the war you were talking like you really disliked him”
“Like I said things can change”
“Whatever I still want to hear how this came to be you hear me .”
“Alright I’ll tell you about it later”
“Alright”
“Forget about him Naruto tell me about how you and Sasuke got together I really want to know,” Kushina chimed in.
“Well mom I will get into that later 'cause that's also a very long story. But let’s just talk for a little get to know more about each other you know”
As the Uzumaki and Uchiha families talked getting to know more of each other. As well as figuring out ways how to deal with the circumstances of the families.
Along with a few snacks and drinks that Naruto offered them as they sat chatting.
That’s how they decided to end their night before drifting off to sleep.
Back at the Hokage mansion
“Hey,” Mirai announced herself.
“Well Asuma this is our daughter Mirai Sarutobi. And Mirai this is your father Asuma Sarutobi.,” Kurenai smiled as she introduced the two.
“Hey Mirai…,” Asuma was interrupted as he was squeezed in a tight hug.
“I always wanted to meet you, dad,” she sniffled on his shoulder.
“I always wanted to meet you, my little angel,” Asuma said as tears flowed down his face.
He was never expecting this sort of reaction. He thought she was going to hate him. Blame him for not being there for her. Telling him that he should have fought harder so he could have been in her life.
But no he was proved wrong. Mirai had accepted him with open arms without any blame. Kurenai raised her well without his help.
“Thank you,” he mouthed to Kurenai.
Kurenai rolled her eyes at him as she joined in on the family hug.
“I have always wanted this,” she smiled as tears rolled down her face.
