The Kids
The Nara home:
Sora sat in the living room on her laptop doing some work from school. Since she had an out-of-school suspension for fighting, she was debating on calling her dad after doing her schoolwork. She wanted to know what he was doing in Seattle. He did not have any business going on there. Neither did Uncle Naruto and Uncle Sasuke unless they were following a lead on Kawaki which was weird because Mikoto would have told her. This whole thing was weird all around to her why were they sneaking around?
"What are they hiding?"
“Who?”Tobs spoke, sneaking up behind his twin.
“Dad. don't you think it’s weird that he suddenly had a business matter in Seattle at the last minute don’t you think?.” She rested her head on her hands beginning to ponder on all of the possibilities of what it could be
“Yeah. I do find it a suspicious case since Mom has been missing. He doesn't leave us suddenly without letting us know days ahead of time. Grandma and Grandpa haven’t mentioned anything either, that's wild don't you think.”
“Exactly cause you know grandma can't keep her lips sealed for a thing when it comes to some news. So this must be a big deal. Maybe Uncle Baruto then got a lead on Kawaki and needed Dad's help.”
“Yeah, but Dad would have been back by now if that was the case. Maybe he found Mom along with them finding Kawaki.”
“You might be right, Tobs, but let’s call Mikoto and Menma to see if they know anything. Or if they are in the dark as much as us.”
Sora pulled up the Facetime icon on her laptop and dialed Mikoto’s number. Tobs stood behind her waiting for the two to pick up. Two dials later Mikoto answered.
“What’s up Nara’s what you guys wanted.”
“We wanted to know if you knew why your parents went to Seattle with our dad,” Tobs questioned.
“We’re in the dark just as much as you two. We questioned our grandparents about it and they kept dodging the questions and shit. Which led to me getting pissed off and I just left it alone, 'cause they were starting to irritate me honestly.”
“You guys asked both sets of your grandparents?” Sora asked to join in.
“Yeah, and they just dodged the question trying to change our mind, they just dodged the questions trying to get us to take our minds off of it. Which is stupid considering who our parents are,” Mikoto replied, rolling her eyes.
“We asked our dad’s parents not our mom’s though because we haven’t talked to them since they are busy.”
“I wondered if they found another Kawaki lead and that’s why mom and dad didn’t tell us because they didn’t want to get our hopes up.”
“I think our dad did the same with our mom, you know not want to give us false hopes,” Tobs said.
“I agree did y'all talk to Auntie Hinata and Auntie Sakura as well you know they had to have known about the true details of them leaving. Even who gave the lead on where to find Uncle Neji and Kawaki.” Menma commented.
“We did but she wasn’t saying much so that shows what’s going on is big,” Sora replied as she leaned back on the couch.
The group sat in silence weighing their options even more than when they started conversing. They felt lied to but they also understood why they were not told anything. Their parents are supposed to protect them from things whether good are bad. Even if hurting them alongside their kids.
“Anyways since we can get any answers you guys want to hang out. Unless you guys are busy of course,” Mikoto asked scrolling through her phone.
“Yeah we don’t have anything else to do, I’ll call the others to see if they're busy too,” Sora said moving to phone the others.
Back in Seattle: At Neji’s house
As the kids debated and hung out with their friends. The parents were struggling with how to break the news to them and the others when they were at home.
Neji knows his parents and siblings would be happy to have him back but be on his ass as to why he left without asking for help in the first place. So, he was in for it when he got home. He knows Mrs.Nicole doesn’t play when it comes to her kids including his cousins, Hinata and Hanabi. Just thinking about it made Neji want to sigh and hide cause he was anxious about seeing them again. He also had to explain his daughter to them too which was another shit show of its own.
“Ugh, why does life keep giving me lemons that can’t make lemonade? The only shit they are making is my tantalizing death. That I don’t want.” Neji thought laying his head on his bag.
“This is about how everyone is going to react to you coming back hmm…,” Shikamaru wrapped his arms around Neji’s waist.
Neji turned around in his arms resting his head on Shikamaru’s shoulders.
“I missed this.”
“You know my parents are more dramatic than Sasuke at times. Not only that I have to think about Hinata too she’s going to kill me.”
“Don’t forget TenTen and Lee either you know they are your best friends,” Shikamaru spoke kissing Neji’s forehead.
“I know how have they been by the way. I know TenTen is running Temari up the wall. And Lee is receiving a lot of hell from Gaara huh,” Neji chuckled.
“Yeah, every day it's something,” Shikamaru mumbled resting his head on Neji’s shoulder.
“Damm, I didn’t imagine I would be going back home this is a dream that I differently don’t want to wake up from,” Neji spoke as he played with Shikamaur’s hair.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
