Mother and Son
“Why do you look like I just sucked the life out of you Kawaki,” Hanami laughed as she began to put the picture back into the box.
“Because on the other side of that door is my mom,” Kawaki finally announced. He was loss for words he knew he would get to meet his mom one of these days after meeting Neji, but he didn't expect it so soon. Let's be real here he did just meet Neji less than two days ago.
Damn I wonder what my parents do for real now cause how the hell they found me in just two fucking days after I just popped back on the radar of them being relatively close to finding me. Huh guess I won't know until I get to know and understand them I guess.
“So the blonde is your mom, wow….. do you want to go out there and confront him?,” Hanami asked.
“No and even if I did, what am I going to say? It’s not like he abandoned me or anything, someone kidnapped me from him. So what I have thought all of these years is washed away. I can’t be angry at him or my dad. I'm angry at the people who took me away from them. I didn’t experience growing up with them and I hate that I don't even know which parent I act like or even as close as to bond with my siblings.,” Kawaki paused, taking a deep breath.
“I just want to get to know what they are like, but at the same time, I will feel like I'm damaging them. I'm not the child they wanted to raise me to be. I'm a kid who was kidnapped and didn’t live the life they did and that hurts knowing they were looking for me and I held anger and resentment for them for years.”
“I know a little about how you feel. I thought my dad had abandoned me and my mom. It turns out my mom left him and my siblings to protect them.”
“Parents ain’t I’m right,” Kawaki concluded.
*Back outside (Neji and Naruto)
“I’m so happy Neji. I found my missing child and I can’t wait for him to be back in my arms, and for my family to be whole again,” Naruto smiled, wiping the tears away.
“I know Naruto you must feel ecstatic,” Neji smiled looking at Naruto’s antics.
“Yes but I wanted to let you know that I know you were last seen with Kawaki and I was wondering if you could tell me where you last saw him?,” turned serious Naruto questioned Neji.
“Well I will have you know Naruto I would never leave your kid out there if I had found him now would I by myself at that? What kind of friend would I be if I did that,” Neji replied.
Tears started to swell in Naruto's eyes as he looked at his longtime friend they hadn’t spoken to each other since Neji but seeing him made Naruto realize how much he missed their little trio. While he knew Neji wasn't a bad person, he hadn't seen him in over a decade, so who would expect him to recognize his son that easily?
“You’re telling me that you have Kawaki inside your house right now?”
“Yes, Naruto you can go in and see him at any moment now just don't be too much. He had a panic attack earlier, but he is okay,” Neji reassured.
The pair walked to the door of the house. Hanami and Kawaki ran back to the couch and pretended as if they had been there the whole time.
“Hanami can you go to your room please Kawaki needs some privacy with his guest,” Neji led Naruto to the couch to sit down as Hanami ran back to her room and turned on the TV.
Neji introduced the two, but Naruto couldn’t keep his hands to himself and pulled Kawaki into his arms. Let me tell you it was the best feeling ever to him he had his bay back into his (yes he knew Kawaki wasn’t a baby anymore by any means). To Kawali he felt safe for the first time in years as if he had just found his home.
Soon the moment was interrupted by another knock on the door.
“Who could that be?”
