Kyoko muttered under her breath, "Hey.... Is it just me or has her Uncle become more and more of a nuisance lately?"
Sasuke answered, "Not just you Koko, not just you."
Naruto grumbled, "At least our client is safe for now."
Kakashi was talking with the Princess about the plan they had come up with to help her regain her footing among the people again. The idea was to gather the whole of Snow country at the place her father had put the treasure he cherished. She would open the treasure with the crystal which was obviously the key to prove herself as the future true ruler of the region. Koyuki was a little skeptical about the plan but agreed to it since it was obvious her Uncle would not let her be otherwise. If she had her people support her then, she would have a much easier time following her own dreams.
Kakashi clapped his hands, "Team Seven, look alive! We have a mission to complete."
Kyoko, "Yes Sensei."
Sasuke, "You got it."
Naruto, "You can count on us."
Kakashi nodded, "Create clones, all three of you. Kyoko, your clones will be with Koyuki all the time. Do not leave her to be open to any attacks. Sasuke, your clones will join the rest of the crew keeping them out of danger. As for you Naruto, spam as many clones as you can to circle the area around us. They will be the first line of defense."
As they were preparing Naruto was having an internal debate with his parents. Well, it was more like Naruto trying to calm his over excited mother while keeping his over protective father from killing his boyfriend. Now, wasn't that a really nice thought? Sasuke is his boyfriend and he could not help but grin as Kushina admitted to making plans with Mikoto before. She had once told her friend that if either one of them had a daughter they would unite their families through marriage. But this was just as good too in Kushina's opinion despite Minato's protest, he did not want to lose his baby to another clan.
Kyoko meanwhile presented Koyuki with a neck piece, "Put this on."
Koyuki, "What is it?"
Kyoko, "It's a special necklace I created using seals. It will alert me if you are in danger."
Koyuki, "How would that work?"
Kyoko, "Killing intent can be detected through seals. Especially when it's directed at the object that has the seal on it."
Koyuki, "Ah! And you will know if I am in danger. That is brilliant. I did not know seals could be so versatile."
Kyoko smiled looking in the direction Naruto was in, "You can thank the Uzumaki clan for that. They are the ones who made it possible."
Koyuki looked at where Kyoko was looking and nodded, "I shall thank him. This is just lovely and goes so beautifully with my dress."
Just like Kakashi predicted Doto attacked them at night looking really pissed off. During the day, Kakashi had sent word out to the novels and common folk of Snow country to head to the Western area. There they would meet the new ruler of the region, their Princess Koyuki. Many citizens had been relieved to know that their Princess was still alive and that had angered Doto a lot. Some of the nobles had even pulled back their funding after realizing their late Lord had indeed left an heir. Many did not like Doto much as he was brute, stubborn and really hard to negotiate with. To hear there was a young heiress who would be willing to negotiate with them was a relief.
Naruto, "Sorry Doto, but your reign of stupidity ends here."
Doto thundered, "What did you just say?"
Sasuke, "Man, he's really dumb."
Kakashi, "Kyoko, take the Princess to the agreed point. We will meet you there."
Kyoko saluted, "You got it boss!"
Koyuki looked at the group feeling worried, "Will they be alright?"
Kyoko, "Do not worry Princess, we know what we are doing. You have your people to address first. I hope you practiced your speech."
Koyuki, "I, I am ready."
Kyoko nodded, "Good because we are here. There is no turning back. They are waiting for you."
Kyoko helped Princess Koyuki fix her clothes that became slightly ruffled up due to being carried. Koyuki took a deep breath and took the stage hearing the cheer from the crowd after how some of the people recognized her. They had worked with her father and taken care of her till it became evident her life was in danger and it was important for her to escape. Koyuki then addressed the crowd, greeting them and introducing herself as the true daughter of the late King. She told them her late father had left them an invaluable treasure that would make sure their lives became a bit easier.
Koyuki, "I shall open this treasure as proof that I am his daughter. As my father would not just give the key to this treasure to anyone blindly."
Kyoko was looking around, 'Oh no, you don't.'
Kyoko's clones stopped the troublemakers, "Now, now, do not be naughty."
Koyuki narrowed her eyes, 'They really don't want me to become the leader. Well too bad so sad.'
Kyoko slammed the attacking ninja between the crowd shouting, "This treasure is for everyone not just Doto."
The crowd looked at the ninja on the ground with contempt and disgust when Kyoko spoke loudly for everyone to hear. Doto cursed as he approached the stadium with the rest of Team Seven on his heels. Koyuki did not waste any time and activated the machine she found behind the treasure doors. The machine whirled and groaned coming to life and melting the snow around them. Then Koyuki explained what the treasure was to everyone which made Doto very furious to the point he attacked her. Kyoko expecting such a reaction stood in front of Koyuki and bitch slapped the man with chakra covered hands making him fall in a crater.
Naruto winced, "Oooh! I felt that slap."
Sasuke, "He deserved it."
Kakashi nodded, "Most definitely deserved it."
Koyuki was looking at Kyoko with stars in her eyes, "Will you teach me how to do that?"
Kyoko, "Sure, it's not that difficult to be honest."
Sasuke, "Koko - tan we will deal with these fools."
Naruto, "You and Sensei help Princess Koyuki out."
Kakashi, "Come Princess, let's get you properly settled for your role."
Kyoko nodded and guided the Princess following Kakashi's lead to meet other nobles. The noble ladies were willing to re - teach the young Princess while the ladies belonging to the common folk were eager to become her maids in waiting. The young Princess was touched by their kind gesture and informed them they would receive her answer the next day. The rest of the day went by with Koyuki returning to the palace, ensuring her crew was alive and safe plus punishing her backstabbing Uncle. Kyoko had carried out the punishment to behead the man for committing fratricide. Her team stood strong behind her as she carried out the act in front of so many people.
Kyoko, 'Thank Kami for our disguises.'
Naruto, "Nee - chan, are you okay?"
Kyoko smiled at him, "I will be, just not at the moment. Shinobi does things that normal people are not capable of doing. This is just one of them, it is our responsibility."
Naruto muttered, "I don't like it, but I understand. He is a danger to Koyuki - hime, isn't he?"
Sasuke, "Yes, he is. Also how long are we staying here? This red hair dye is starting to become a headache to maintain."
Kakashi, "Well, we will be helping Koyuki with the backlog paperwork and in navigating through the noble houses and politics."
The three groaned at what it meant and looked at each other before Kyoko went to grab the Princess and had her take care of the paperwork first. Koyuki was in the beginning dumbfounded by the amount that was stored in one of the rooms then Team Seven started to go through the many papers. Naruto with his father's help found out which papers were more important first and got them to Kyoko who went through it. She took the papers to Koyuki explaining the necessity of the papers in order for the economy to run smoothly. It went on like that for four days with Sasuke helping Naruto separate the most important papers from the ones that can be dealt with later.
After that Team Seven finally released Koyuki to the mercy of noble ladies who would re - teach her how to act and behave like a Princess. Koyuki had forgotten most of her lessons on proper etiquette after escaping to save her life and pretending to be a normal girl. Now, she was back to those lessons and re - learning everything she had already known but forgotten. During that time many clan leaders had approached the young leader with their daughters and sons. Koyuki felt her eye twitched realizing they expected her to have a harem, sort of like her father did before he passed. She remembers the beautiful ladies and the handsome men her father had in his harem.
Koyuki, 'I think I should consider at least six.'
Kyoko, "Are you considering their offer?"
Koyuki, "Well, I remember the harem my father had. They were always kind to me."
Kyoko nodded, "Well, just think about it for a while. In fact ask the noble ladies, who no longer have unmarried children to help evaluate them. Otherwise, some of them might try to play favourites with those who belong to their family. Keep those nobles from knowing who they are judging."
Koyuki, "You mean make them wear masks for the tests?"
Kyoko nodded, "Yes, it will take months. But with patience you will find people you can trust."
Koyuki nodded, "Yeah I will take my time with this."
Sasuke, "If anyone tries to force you, eliminate them on the spot. They are not taking this seriously so there is no need for them to stay."
Koyuki groaned, "More paperwork."
Naruto laughed, "Welcome to the world of leaders."
Koyuki gave him a dirty look, "You are planning on becoming a Hokage too, so just you wait."
Kakashi clapped his hands, "Okay, enough wasting time, we have only four days left. So, let's try to get things done, as much as possible.
They agreed and got to work helping Koyuki tackle the most important problems, the harem problem could be dealt with at a later date. She then visited the nobles and got to know them, getting a feel for their personality and interests. Kyoko was by her side the most while Koyuki greeted the noble houses, which made people think, their Princess was probably interested in women. That was something they decided not to bother denying, as at the end of the day harem was all about political relations nothing more. Koyuki really hopes she can avoid the ridiculous drama that comes from having a harem.
Naruto, "Why not train your harem to become your shadow protectors?"
Koyuki, "What?"
Kyoko, "Naruto, Sasuke, have you been sneaking around my novels?"
Sasuke, "Your storylines are really good and very fascinating."
Koyuki, "Never mind that, what do you mean by train the harem?"
Naruto, "Well, you said you didn't want to deal with drama right? So, give them a reason to not have time for drama. Train them and make them responsible for your safety."
Sasuke, "It was a good book Koko - tan. I'm a little upset you did not share it with us."
Kyoko, "I wrote it during my down time. It's not meant for anything else except to be a way for me to let loose."
Kakashi, "Still a very good book."
Kyoko, "Sensei, no!"
Kakashi, "Sensei yes."
Kyoko groaned knowing her teacher would not let it go, if there was anything they learned about their Sensei was the fact he loves a really good story. Kyoko half wondered if she would be talked into publishing her novel, she hoped not, there were a lot of thought provoking topics in her novels. Topics that could make her seem like a rebel in the eyes of a village under the rule of a military dictatorship. Yeah, she would act like this talk did not just happen and pretend the book she wrote did not exist in the first place.
Kyoko, 'How did Naruto even find it? I am pretty sure I hid it behind flames, so that means.... Naruto's flames became stronger. Hmm! Maybe I should add flame training for Naruto.'
Naruto felt a shiver go down his spine, 'What was that?'
