Kyoko, "We are home."
Naruto, "That was crazy, our mission went from D - rank to A - rank to straight up S - rank."
Sasuke, "Is our generation cursed by any chance?"
Kakashi, "Now, now, don't be so negative."
Kyoko, "Tell me the name of a team in our generation who did not receive a mislabeled mission."
Kakashi scratched his head, "Well, there is team... Um team... Okay, I see your point. But at least, we are home now."
Naruto, "Yeah, let's submit our reports then go out to eat. I have been dying to get some Ichiraku ramen for a week now."
Sasuke, "True, we had mostly the food, you made Kyoko - chan. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed them but... "
Kyoko, "Nah, I get it. I am also craving junk food, to be honest. There's only so much healthy food I can eat, though admittedly the fresh wild carrots were sweeter than normal ones."
Naruto, "Oh yeah, they really went well with the wild rabbits we caught."
Kakashi gave a smile as he listened to his students chat about food and the many different ways to prepare and eat it. Ever since he got his team, he had been receiving packed food everyday from one of them. They claimed, they were trying new recipes and wanted his opinion. Kakashi would have believed it, if they didn't give him food everyday. He knew they enjoyed feeding people and watching their happy smiles, the team dinners were proof of that.
Sandaime looked up, "Ah! Team Seven, welcome back."
Kakashi straightened, "Team Seven reporting in from a successful mission, Hokage - sama."
Hiruzen looked exhausted as he listened to the verbal report and looked even more tired when he saw the large report. It looks like young Naiko had written everything according to the date so it should not be hard to go through at least. The Hokage then dismissed them while he went through the detailed reports starting from the largest one. Unsurprisingly, it was young Naiko's report about the mission along with details on the assets that she found and gave away to avoid problems.
One of the items was the infamous Raijin which she gave to Zabuza. How and where did Gato get his hands on that sword? There was a report about a transaction between Gato and a very infamous thief. Hiruzen felt his eyebrow twitch and went through the report again only to feel another headache when it listed S - rank nin's names on it. Hiruzen called for Bull who appeared looking very much resigned. He really should have known the child would not be able to keep to herself and go poking around looking for explanation.
Bull, "Let me guess. Naiko - chan found out things that she really should not be getting involved with?"
Hiruzen, "S - rank nin, five of them and Orochimaru is one of them. There is nothing much except for a brief description."
Bull took the paper, "You want us to claim it to keep Naiko from going after it?"
Hiruzen nodded, "Well, she does avoid interfering in cases that have already been claimed."
Bull remembered a certain incident from during the early Academy days. Haruno and Yamanaka had come across a young boy who was not registered in any of the orphanage. Naiko had been curious and seeing none of the adults cared she had gone investigating. She had found an entire web of human traffickers and the child was the son of one of the clans of Wave country. It had been quiet the political mess for all of them to deal with and clear up.
They called Naiko and had questioned her on why she had gotten involved. Naiko had explained, since no one had claimed the case so she took it to solve it. Ibiki was laughing inside even though he had a strict face in front of them all. The reason was simple and yet they could not hold it against her when she pointed out no one else had cared when young Haruno and Yamanaka asked for help. She had to stay under protection for a few days as she did anger a bunch of child traffickers.
Bull, "I'll take it."
Hiruzen, "I'll have Deer deal with your responsibilities while you deal with that."
Naruto, "Old man Ichiraku, we are back."
Teuchi visibly perked up, "Naruto - kun, Sasuke - kun, Kyoko - chan and Kakashi - san. Welcome back."
Sasuke and Kakashi nodded while Kyoko greeted them back placing different orders. It was nice to be back home again, but half way through Team Six had barged in or rather Naomi and Torune did. Before they could greet them the two pulled the three Genin and checked them over. Sasuke had to placate his sibling saying it was the ANBU who dealt with the most dangerous part of the mission not them.
Sakura, "Maybe but we were worried, you know?"
Torune, "Learning your mission turned S - rank was terrifying especially after what happened with him."
Naomi nodded, "Especially when we learned there were an S - rank and an unknown rank shinobi involved."
Kyoko, "I understand Naomi - chan, Torune - kun, Sakura - san but like Sasuke - tan said, the ANBU dealt with the danger."
Naruto, "Yeah, beside if anything happens, we have Sensei here to back us up."
Kakashi lifted his bowl in salute then returned to his talk with Anko. Team Seven invited Team Six seeing their Senseis were already talking and eating. Team Six told them, that the Cryptology department had received their report and papers. Team Six were currently in the process of helping in the decryption of the information which was a lot, apparently. Kyoko nodded, she had expected it when she had used her clones to basically photocopy every piece of information.
Naruto, "You really went hard on collecting information nee - chan."
Sasuke nodded, "I for one am glad you chose to become a medic."
Kyoko, "Eh? Why?"
Anko, "Because Koko - tan, your ability to collect information and put them in neat little boxes can be a powerful weapon when used in the right way."
Kakashi agreed, "The only reason no one has forced you to work at Cryptology is because you are the best medic so far."
Anko, "A lot of us even think you and Naruto might surpass Tsunade - hime, which is another can of worms."
Sakura was looking at her with starry eyes, "Yeah, my mom goes on and on about how you are the new Medic Queen."
Kyoko, "Really?"
Sakura, "She didn't have enough chakra to qualify to be a Shinobi but she learned other ways. She really enjoys reading your work, especially your new technique. It is really fascinating."
Sasuke, "I think, I am right in saying Kyoko - chan is the genii of our group."
Naruto, "Considering the fact, she created two jutsus successfully, definitely."
Kyoko turned pink, "Awwwwww, I have the sweetest brothers in the world."
Torune, "You three are cute."
Anko, "Brothers? When did you adopt the Uchiha?"
Kyoko snorted, "Shisui's attempts at flirting and later trying to set me up on dates with other Uchihas. I am pretty sure, I will be joining the family, if he has his way."
Sasuke, "I personally would like it, if you marry Itachi but I think Itachi and Shisui have a thing between them."
Sakura was gushing, "Itachi - sama and Shisui - sama? They are really together? Really?"
Sasuke's lips twitched in amusement, "Yep, he always brings Itachi's favourite food and gifts everytime he goes on a mission. If he is at home, they spend time attached to the hip."
Sakura squealed, "Oh my gosh! That's so sweet and romantic, I love it."
Sasuke, "Izumi - neechan was jealous but after Kyoko - chan here provided a thorough study about genetics, I think her crush died fast."
Naruto laughed, "I remember that, nee - chan forced every clan to read it with proof. I don't know how you found the proof but, it was fun."
Kyoko rolled her eyes, "The proof has always been there, especially if you just pay attention to what is going on in the royal line genetically not politically."
Sasuke paused, "That is true but most people normally only care about the politics and power when they look at the Daimyo or the other noble families."
Kyoko, "Well then, I take a lot of pride in being different from them. Speaking of couples, Sakura - chan ~"
Sakura went on guard, "Yes?"
Kyoko, "Have you decided who you want to date?"
Sakura blushed red, "What? I.. No, I don't have.. "
Naomi came to the pinkette's rescue, "She does not have a date yet. She is pretty much focused on work at the moment."
Sakura nodded, "Yes, I have not met with any other team except Ino - chan's team and currently yours."
Kyoko, "Aww, I was hoping to hear some good news."
Naruto, "He even said, he had prepared stuff for the first date."
Torune, "Guess, he didn't have the time yet. I mean just look at how our mission turned out."
All Genin gave an exhausted sigh at the reminder of the messed up missions they had to deal with. At least the pay was good and they got a nice penny out of it. They paid for the ramen and said farewell to Team Six and to each other to go home. Kyoko fell on her bed after she had taken a nice long shower, she looked around her room and frowned. Someone had been in her room, the little seal Naruto had given her showed the chakra of an unknown.
Kyoko, 'This is trouble.'
The brunette got up, dressed and went out saying out loud, she had almost forgotten about that thing. She went straight to the Hiruzen compound and requested to meet Naruto. The blond was a little confused, because knowing his nee - chan, she would have been lazing in her room right now. She grabbed Naruto and took him to her house, quietly explaining the situation to him.
Naruto looked at the seal, "I don't know what to say, nee - chan. Stay with my family tonight. Jiji is the only person with excess to everyone's chakra. Well, everyone in the village at least."
Kyoko, "Okay. I do wonder who it was though."
Naruto, "Come on nee - chan, I will get you a room. Call your mom too, she can stay here as well."
Kyoko, "Thanks Naru - tan, I appreciate it. Dad left on an S - rank mission two days ago, so it's just mom and I."
Naruto, "I'll send Sasuke a message. It'll be a fun sleep over."
Kyoko, "Sure."
Sasuke joined them a while later looking worried and happy at the same time. He asked Kyoko what happened and she explained what she had found after reaching home earlier. She did hope, it was not someone dangerous or a traitor again, but after what happened with Mizuki, she was not sure. When Hiruzen had returned home with Yume, he had been surprised to hear they were at his home earlier, but waited to ask.
Naruto, "Something happened Jiji."
Yume, "Koko - chan, what happened?"
Kyoko, "Mama, you know I had Naru - tan put up protection seals up in my room, right?"
Yume nodded, "Yes dear, I know. I have those seals in the kitchen too. They are very convenient Naruto - kun, thank you."
Naruto beamed, "You are welcome."
Sasuke, "Told you he is a seal genius."
Kyoko pat Naruto's shoulder, "That's my outoto."
Naruto's face was pink, "I also have a record of the stranger's chakra from the seals on nee - chan's room but I don't have access to all the chakra records. The only ones I have are from my patients, family and friends."
Hiruzen, "Hmm, let me see the seal."
Naruto gave him the seal and Hiruzen checked it over marveling at the little details on it. He told Naruto they would deal with it and seeing his serious expression Team Seven had a feeling the Hokage recognized the chakra recorded in the seal. They looked at each and had a strong feeling they stumbled into more trouble again. To think they just returned home too and were looking forward to relaxing. Kyoko muttered darkly under her breath about people who create nothing but trouble for them.
Yume pat her head, "Don't worry Koko - chan, we will figure this out."
Naruto, "So much for a relaxing return."
Sasuke, "Un, Itachi - nii was worried. Tomorrow come over to my place, okay?"
Kyoko, "Sure, why not? It has been months since we had a sleepover together."
Hiruzen, "That sounds fun. I approve."
Naruto eyed his Jiji who agreed very quickly to their idea for a sleepover. As they were getting ready to have dinner Konohamaru rushed in and sat on Naruto's lap asking him questions. Kyoko squealed at the cute picture they made while Sasuke took a photo of them. Hiruzen asked a copy of the photo to which Sasuke agreed. Kyoko gave a sigh, at least they could eat and enjoy their dinner together.
