Politics are Annoying
Kyoko was sitting inside the council room, "Absolutely not! I have no interest in getting engaged before I turn twenty - five, no thirty."
Naruto nodded agreeing, "What nee - chan said. We are not even fifteen."
Sasuke was fuming, "Is this all you wanted to talk about? We have to return to the hospital because we have responsibilities."
Elder Koharu, "We understand your apprehension but you have attracted a lot of romantic attention."
Hizashi looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there, "I think we should listen to the children, respected Elders."
Naruto, "Listen to Uncle Hizashi. He knows us better than anyone else here."
Uchiha Fukuoka was an Elder, "Perhaps but my younger clan members have shown a lot of interest in young Naiko. I don't think young Naiko is against it either."
Kyoko snarled in anger, "Who I am interested in is no one's business."
Sasuke snapped, "Kyoko - chan is not an object for you to bestow on another."
Kakashi slammed the door open at that moment, "There you three are! I was going to raise an alarm if I didn't find you in the next fifteen minutes."
Naruto, "Sensei, thank Kami, you are here."
Sasuke, "Get us out of here, Sensei."
Kyoko muttered, "Before we commit treason."
Kakashi turned to the council of Elders, "I think you have kept my students here long enough. We have a mission to do, also the Sandaime wishes to have a word with you."
Haruno Akako an Elder from the civilian side spoke up, "Of course Hatake - san. This meeting was only to inform them about the marriage proposals that Konoha received. Your work in the hospital and obviously the Wave country has raised interest among those who are at the marriageable age."
Kakashi felt irritation and desire for murder rise inside him as the Elder passed a stack of envelopes towards him. He originally wanted to get his students out fast as possible but it looks like they can't without accepting the papers. Kakashi took the stack and took his students out though he was fuming inside. His pups do not need romantic entanglement so early in their lives, without their consent. Anyone trying to force them into romance would have to go through him first. Kakashi dropped the stack in a bin and burning it much to his student's amusement.
Naruto, "Sensei, do we really need to, you know?"
Kakashi, "No, at the end of the day it's your choice. If anyone tries to force you, tell me. I will deal with it."
Kyoko, "Thank you Sensei."
Sasuke, "Yeah. Itachi is not going to be amused when he learns about this."
Naruto, "Understatement."
Kabuto saw them, "You are here. What happened? You are not normally this late."
Kyoko made an annoyed face, "We were ordered to go to a council meeting."
Naruto scowled, "It was about our marital status."
Sasuke gritted his teeth, "Can you believe it?"
Kabuto looked angry for a split second, "I see. Did you reject them?"
Kakashi, "Obviously, no fool is touching my pups."
Kyoko, Naruto and Sasuke went to get scrubbed and sanitized before wearing their medic uniforms. Kakashi went to one of his spot which was all over the hospital to relax and wait while his students worked. He had been watching Yakushi the last few weeks, he did not know why, but there was something about the silver haired teen that made Kakashi's protective instincts rise up. He could not put his finger on the why but there was something
Naruto meanwhile was telling Kabuto about how they were called to the meeting and how they were trying to get them engaged. Kabuto's smile became tight and fake at that and asked if they considered any of the choices. Naruto made a grossed out face and mumbled most of the people were above twenty years old. Kabuto almost broke the bottle of medicine he was holding but took a deep breath to calm down. Kabuto hated to admit it but he had become very fond of the blond boy.
Kabuto, "Naruto, I mean it, if you ever want to get out of this village. I will help cover you."
Naruto blinked, "Kabuto - sempai... I didn't know you had it in you to rebel."
Kabuto, "Humph! I have played my own set of pranks and tricks on the village but no one knows about it."
Kyoko, "I knew it. It was you."
Sasuke, "You were the one to infiltrate the Hunter Nin Corp and paint them in neon colors."
Kabuto, "You have no proof."
Naruto, "Sempai, that is so awesome."
Kabuto's lips twitched in fond amusement as the three juniors gushed over the prank a few years back. The Shinobi had initially thought Naruto was the culprit then Naruto mentioned he did not even realize there was another nin Corp. That had made everyone pause and had left them scratching their heads and the security worried. It had been a chaos that they were in the middle of and they didn't even do anything.
Kakashi, "Done?"
Naruto stretched his arms, "Yes Sensei."
Kyoko, "Sensei you mentioned there was a mission for us earlier."
Sasuke, "When are we going?"
Kakashi eye smiled, "We are leaving early tomorrow. So let's go home and rest. Here are the details."
Kyoko, "Thanks Sensei."
The three of them smiled as they followed their Sensei to his clan compound. The topic had come up a few days after they returned from their mislabeled mission. Finding out someone unknown had entered one of his student's home had ticked off his senses in the wrong way. So, he had opened his old clan home to his three pups, it had caused a tizzy among the ANBU. The three pups though were very happy and took up his offer to crash at his place. Now, they added their Sensei's place to their list of sleepover choices.
The other Sensei's had raised their eyebrows in amusement but after Kakashi explained what happened they understood his reasoning. They would be big hypocrites if they pretended like they would not do the same for their students. They were a very adorable and serious batch this year and many of them were protective of their own. Especially with all the mislabeled missions they seemed to be getting their instincts to protect were high. Speaking of which they found out why and who were behind the mislabeled missions.
As it turns out Mizuki had a partner who was positioned behind the desk. It was a position that was normally over looked as that section was usually handled by three Chunin and a Jounin. A small mistake but one that would not be repeated again if Shikaku and Fugaku had any say. The two clans had taken over the handling of the mission desk and found many problems. Naiko's solution was a Kami send and helped them secure more missions with proper labelling.
Kyoko got up from her place beside Naruto, who was snuggling Kakashi's left. On Kakashi's right, Sasuke had commandeered his hand, it made Kyoko almost squeal. She bit her lip from making any noise and instead went to the bathroom to wash up. Over the months she had learned their Sensei just like Sasuke preferred savory meals that were not too strong. It had been a challenge but she had come up with recipes that had flavor but wasn't completely overpowering.
Naruto got up getting a waft of delicious smell, "That smells nice."
Kakashi was running his hand through Sasuke's hair, "Koko - tan got up a while ago and is making breakfast."
Naruto perked up, "Nee - chan's breakfast is best. I will go help her."
Sasuke muttered, "It's too early."
Kakashi cooed inside, "Go back to sleep Sasuke. There's still time before we have to go for our mission."
Sasuke hummed and slept a bit more before finally getting up and ready. He joined the others for breakfast and cleaned up while Naruto and Kyoko got ready for their new mission. The mission they got was a simple C - rank mission thankfully. It was to deliver a few medical plants safely to Sunagakure in return for a new anti - venom medicine they had come up with.
Naruto, "Nee - chan, do you think they will show us how to make the medicine?"
Kyoko, "I don't know Ruru - tan. Most villages are very possessive of their techniques."
Sasuke nodded, "Yeah, the only reason Kyoko - chan could teach others was because they are part of the village. If they had been outsiders then... "
Kakashi, "They would have their minds wiped."
Naruto, "Isn't that a little drastic?"
Kyoko, "Well, compared to killing them, not really."
Sasuke, "Besides I don't think anyone can use the sun healing technique outside of the two of you. Not even Kabuto - sempai and he is a genius when it comes to medicine."
Kakashi nodded, "So don't try to teach them. They might think we are insulting them and cause trouble."
Naruto, "Ugh! More politics then."
Yamanaka Tokusa who was in charge of the caravan laughed, "Well you kids don't have to worry about anything negotiations. We adults will take care of it."
Kyoko, "Really Yamanaka - san?"
Tokusa smiled, "Just Tokusa please and yes. We only hired your team to escort us to and fro. You don't have to worry about anything else."
Nara Karin nodded, "He is right. We will deal with the main negotiations. Your team can relax in the meantime, we will stay for a day then leave the next morning."
Naruto grinned, "Sounds good to me."
Sasuke, "We could check out the village. I heard they built it to weather the rough desert."
Kyoko, "Yeah, it'll be very interesting."
The group luckily reached Suna without running into any danger or trouble. However once they reached Suna an old lady attacked them, or rather attacked Kakashi. Naruto jumped in front of Kakashi and snarled at her. Kyuubi's chakra leaking out in small streams to warn them off from trying it again. The Lady eyed the young blond and the ravenette and brunette standing protectively in front of the silver haired man.
A Suna shinobi rushed to them, "Lady Chiyo, they are our guests."
Chiyo scowled, "The White Fang is a guest now."
Kyoko raised her eyebrow, "I assure you granny, our Sensei is the Copy Cat not the White Fang."
Chiyo gave a laugh, "Copy Cat you say? I see, I see. My mistake, I thought you were an enemy."
Naruto eyed her, "You are very active even though you are old. I like it."
Sasuke, "Yeah, it's very impressive."
Chiyo snorted, "Very smooth talker, aren't you all? Come, come, I will show you around."
Kakashi, "Ummm.. Don't create any trouble."
Kyoko, "We won't Sensei."
Naruto, "Yeah, we will just look around."
Sasuke nodded, "This village is interesting."
The adults watched Team Seven went with Lady Chiyo of all people in Suna. Who didn't know about the enmity between Chiyo and the late White Fang who had been reinstated as a hero two years ago. That was another can of worms in itself with all the dark dealings that happened under the Hokage's nose. Hiruzen was furious when he found out and had ordered a full on investigation on the matter.
Naruto, "Who's that?"
Chiyo, "Oh, that child is the current Hokage's son. He is training alone again I see."
Kyoko, "Hmm.. Is it okay if we invited him as well?"
Chiyo, "Oh? Why?"
Sasuke, "Naruto is the grandson of the Sandaime. I think we can get along."
Chiyo hummed, "I suppose if the children can get along it will be good for the village relationship but I don't think it is a good idea. Wait children!"
Naruto, "Hello, I am Naruto."
The red head turned to him, "Why are you talking to me?"
Kyoko appeared, "We came here for a mission but we are taking a break. We were looking around and saw you."
Sasuke, "We wanted to ask if you would like to join us."
The red head was staring at them suspiciously, "Why? I don't even know you."
Kyoko, "I apologize, that was my mistake. I am Kyoko."
Sasuke, "I'm Sasuke."
The red head was bewildered, "Gaara, why did you apologize to me?"
Naruto, "Because a mistake was made."
Chiyo watched them with apprehension as they talked to Gaara. Over the years she had watched over the red head and knew how unstable he could be. Just how did these three manage to talk to him calmly? Unknown to her Kyoko had sensed the anger and pain coming from the red head child. She had used her Sun flames to reach out to him. Shukaku had been shocked to feel the similar chakra and had started purring inside Gaara making him confused. Gaara had been taken off guard and when the three strangers started to talk to him very wary.
Gaara, "Mother likes you."
Naruto, "Oh? I am glad your mother approves of us."
Kyoko, "We like you too Gaara."
Sasuke, "You are cool."
Chiyo was sitting beside them flabbergasted, "Are you three sirens?"
Kyoko laughed, "I wish we were but no. We just like making new friends."
