Silent Night, Dreadful Night
In the blink of an eye, night fell.
Sasuke was cloaked in darkness so he donned the Sharingan. His kekkei genkai didn't grant him the ability to see in the dark but it helped in detecting and tracking hidden threats.
Maybe too well.
Countless times he sprung into action only to discover it was a leaf or small creature.
The only sounds were the faint breathing of his unconscious team. He grew to tune that out.
When the sun rose again, Sasuke was tired and hungry. But he couldn't leave. Any second those Sound ninja could show up. He had to be here to stop them so that they won't do anything to Naruto and Sakura.
Soon the sun rays had landed on every part of the forest and with it came the heat.
Even in their hideaway, he couldn't stand it. Acutely was he aware that dehydration could set in and dull his senses...but he couldn't leave.
Sasuke, you really need to quite playing hero.
No...he cant imagine the dobe's voice at a time like this.
