Sasuke’s Sacrifice.
3 years later, Boruto is now 15 and he has aged and matured considerably during this time. He has spent the last three years aggressively training and improving his skills, as he was now fully committed to defeating Kawaki and reclaiming his life. Although he had been only 12 when he last saw Kawaki, he was now a different person entirely, and his determination and resolve were stronger than ever.
*Boruto and Sasuke were hanging out in the woods, and as they talked, Sasuke was reminiscing about the many lessons and teachings that he had given Boruto over the years.*
"I've taught you everything I know…”
Claw Grimes suddenly appeared from out of nowhere, and Sasuke and Boruto both instantly sprung into action as they both drew their swords and got ready to fight.
The Claw Grimes punched Boruto in the gut, causing him to fly back into the trees and cause a large explosion. Boruto was suddenly hit hard by the Claw Grimes' attack and he was struggling to keep up in the fight, as the Claw Grimes had superior strength and speed.
Code spoke in a mocking and dismissive tone as he referred to Boruto as an Otsutsuki.
"You are just a half blood piece of trash, Boruto Uzumaki. You are not even a real Otsutsuki, just a bastard vessel of one."
Sasuke quickly reacted to Code’s insult and quickly moved to protect Boruto by striking with his Onyx Chidori to take out Code. He pierced Code’s chest with the lethal technique, and the impact that the chidori caused severely weakened him. Sasuke immediately took advantage of his weakened state to gain the upper hand and protect Boruto.
Sasuke tells Boruto to run and protect Sarada, as he was leaving her in Boruto's care. He trusted Boruto enough to keep her safe and protect her, and didn't expect that he would disappoint him in any way.
"I'm leaving her up to you... protect her, promise me..."
Boruto was scared and started to tear up. It felt like the weight of the entire world was on his shoulders, and he was now being made responsible for keeping Sarada safe and protecting her... a responsibility that he didn't feel like he was fully ready for.
"I... I promise..."
Boruto ran off into the forest, feeling scared and alone like he always did. The fact that he had to live like this, always on the run and fighting for his life, was something he hated and would have changed if he could. He missed his family, friends, class-rep and Sarada. He was still just a kid, and he wished that everything could go back to the way it was before... before Kawaki came into his life.
