Chapter 1
Sakura had just returned from a 19-hour shift at the hospital. She had lost another patient, and even though it was not the first, it still hurt like it was. She was exhausted and coming home to an empty flat didn’t make her feel much better at all. She had cried during her lunch break but had to pull herself together as she had three other patients to see and a crying doctor was not very reassuring.
“If you frown continually, you will look like even more of a hag because of the wrinkles you will gain.” A voice said as she stepped in, closing the door behind her.
She jumped.
“Thanks, Sai. That makes me feel all the better.” She said as she rolled her eyes, after realizing it was Sai, who had broken it again.
Honestly, he was always at her home, she had no idea how he kept getting in.
“You are welcome,” Sai says with his usual creepy smile on his face.
“I can always count on you to be here even when I don’t want you to.” Sakura groaned as she flopped her head back down onto her couch pillow.
“Yes. It seems that I am the only one who is capable of that." Sai said blankly.
Sakura sighed, remembering how she blew up on the team to give her some space when they wanted to get Ramen after a mission. They all listened to her and left together. Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, with the usual happening.
Sasuke and Naruto arguing, with Kakashi watching them fondly.
The fact that Sasuke was accepted back into the village after the war with everything that he had done before was baffling. But Sakura was way too tired to get angry all over again.
Then she thought of Sai, who stared at her and took his leave.
"Whatever Sai." She said, tired, as she kicked off her shoes.
"You know, studies show that those who don't get enough sleep get irritable very quickly and become hard to be around." He took a pause and stared at her.
"It seems that it has already begun to affect you."
Okay. That was enough. Now she was annoyed.
She started to throw the couch pillows at him.
"COME HERE SAI. I'LL SHOW YOU IRRATBLE" Sakura roared, as she chased him around her living room.
If there was anything, that would make her pumped up, even after being completely exhausted, it was Sai being Sai.
