Seals and Sensing (1/2)

Turns out trying to design a Seal was hard.
Due to his Sharingan Sasuke knew lots and lots of seals. He knew how they should look like and woukd be able to describe them. He knew some basic symbols and what they would work for. As well as seal explanations.

But unfortunately, designing the seal he needed needed more.
It was a bit as if Sasuke had an incomplete puzzle- and knew some pieces that fit together but neither the missing peaces nor how they woukd look like. Like the holes in the puzzle were obscured in a genjustu, there but not describable.
Sasuke sighed at this realisation.
Well. He would just read more until he found the puzzle pieces. It was fine. The Uchiha library was huge - and nobody had died in it, so no bloodstains to look at which made it an awesome hangout spot.
Plus, Sasuke could now reach all the books, alle the knowledge that was hidden from him because it was too high and he was too short and couldn't reach them. Wall-walking or Tree-walking was proving really really useful.

So Sasuke spend his afternoons and a whole weekend there, trying to find any sealing scroll, scrolls on Sensing cause he also had to work on that ( after all he could end up anywhere and if he landed right in a battlefield and would be noticed that would be very very bad because Sasuke knew he was very very weak ) and any jutsu he found interesting or useful. There were a lot. The Uchiha tendend to document any jutsu they copied and store that in their library and they had battled lots of different clans or later villages so there was much diversity.

Then, as soon as the academy was over and Sasuke was home, he settled next to the piles of scrolls and books all around him.

Well. At least this might make him too busy to think.

The first scroll Sasuke read on Sealing was very very useful.
If a seal has more than one use or two uses that are connected with each other, it was highly recommended to use a sealing bridge ( unless you were Uzumaki cause then you could do thinks the proper way or try things out till they worked with a way lower change to die in the process).
And more importantly it gave examples for bridges.
Sasuke knew he would have to connect the symbols for " place of existence " ( yes that was in the building block book and no he had no idea what the original creator wanted to do with that but according to his very little sealing knowledge it made sense) and " stay" so that he wouldn't be in the past for an undetermined time and instead could choose when to go back himself or rather not choose to come back.
Coming back would mean either maybe dying if there was one time because things could change or being alone again.
But, in addition to those symbols, Sasuke needed to find a way to seal the artifact chakra on or in himself in a way that it would transport him and make the artifact chakra the activation of the seal as well as the interaction point ( because seals were weird and there were different activation seals if you needed to link non-sealed things to seals or other things to seals.

Sasuke sighed, activated his sharingan while saying his observations ( that was great for memorising, really) and grabbed another scroll.
Sealing was hard.

At school, the next day at lunch Sasuke read a scroll introducing Sensing, sitting on the roof as usual.
The scroll distinguished different types of sensors.
There were natural born sensors, those were often chakra sensitive and you wouldn't want them as your enemy because they could sense you from miles away.
Of course there were also taught sensors, which were most of the shinobi sensors.
They often had less range and learned Sensing through various techniques, mediation and practice.
But what was more interesting was trying to avoid Sensing.
The scroll recommended trying to make your presence as small as possible and, if you could, adjusting the chakra presence to the local environments. In a city full of cats that could be cats for instance, or civilians, and in the woods it was the local wildlife.
Sasuke didn't know how small or big a cat or bird chakra presence was so that woukd be hard...but he could try to make his presence smaller.

The process was frighteningly easy. It was just...aprt of compressing the chakra super densely and making it small but in doing so Sasuke felt weird because he himself felt smaller than usual and in his head small meant helpless which was probably the reason why he was slightly panicking until he could get his hands to make the calming genjutsu.
He couldn't fully calm down when luch was over so he just left himself under it when class continued and hoped people wouldn't notice.

But Sasuke wasn't lucky and while other sensei mercifully ignored it, Iruka-sensei motioned fot him to stay behind. Sasuke repressed a groan.
" Hey Sasuke. Don't panic but you are currently under a genjutsu. I am going to break ot, it won't hurt..."
Sasuke interrupted him.
" Don't bother, I know, I out it there myself."
Iruka gave him a small smile. " You might be saying that because you are in a genjutsu. Do you know how to release it? Otherwise I'm going to."
Sasuke shook his head. " I know how to. " and did it.
He felt better than before but still agitated.
Iruka-sensei noticed. " Are you alright?"
Sasuke nodded. " Hnn. The Genjutsu is harmless. Just something to help people calm down."
Iruka inclined his head. " I wasn't aware such a thing exists." Sasuke shrugged. " It's an Uchiha one. We often use it for when people are really emotional or something huge happened but it also helps when you just panic. "
Iruka nodded. " Is there anything I can help you with?"
Sasuke paused then thought about it. Well, asking for help in Sensing wouldn't hurt. He could always pretend to need it to detect or evade Itachi ( which was only a half-lie).
" Actually, do you have any tips on Sensing? Or avoiding being sensed? I tried that, made my chakra small and it just...felt weird and kind of freaked me put."Sasuke admitted.
" Well." Iruka said. " That's rather advanced for your age. "
Sasuke nodded. " Yes but it would be helpful if Itachi comes back. I don't know if he will come back for me. And if I feel him beforehand and am able to pretend to just be a cat or something maybe he'll just think I'm not there and leave."
" That's an...interesting plan. But I don't think you have to worry about him. Not if you are in the village."
Sasuke shrugged. " It would just make me feel better. But I can also figure it out on my..."
" I can give you a tip and recommend a few books from the library." Iruka-sensei interrupted him.
" That would be great." Sasuke gave a small smile.
Iruka looked shocked buy gave him a nod and smiled back. " Okay, I'll have that list for you tomorrow."
Sasuke nodded.
" Okay. Thank you, Iruka,sensei!"
After that Sasuke went home and finished one of his many piles on Sealing ( without sucess). Following that, Sasuke gave himself a break by trying water walking in the Nara river which was hard but after learning the sunshjn basics also kind of fun. Then he switched to sunshinning with water-walkjng over the lake which was pretty complicated. He landed in the water more than once.

Then he took a shower, ate dinner and resumed consuming scrolls of knowledge in the library.
