Seals and Sensing(2/2)

Sasuke was very exited for the academy the next day. He hadn't gone through more sensing-scrolls yet- really, the seal was more important and if he had a problem he might just be able to sunshin- so it would be interesting what Iruka would recommend.

Finally, lunch-time was over and Iruka-sensei subtly gestured for him to stay.
" Regarding what we talked about yesterday." He started. " I have a few recommendations. There's a book, " The Hidden ninja" which is a bit childish but it explains the concepts of hiding your tracks and hiding your chakra really well. For learning Sensing, well, it's a bit more complicated but there is a book called " The third Eye." Both are things you should be able to get with a written pass from me that I'll give you if you want it."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. " A pass."
" Yes. " Iruka explained. " Academy-teachers give those out to students if they think those can handle something a bit more complicated than the standart curriculum or they request it. It's only done if we are relatively sure someone will become a ninja, many people don't pass the final exam and later become civilians and the village doesn't need those people to have lots of ninja skills. Anyways that's the reason why those books are in the genin section but can be read by some academy students."
" Hnn." Sasuke aknowledged. " Thank you for your trust, Sensei. Though to be honest I don't understand what thenproblem with civilians with some ninja skills would be. In some clans everyone knows some things with chakra, shinobi or not."
" Yes, that's in clans. It's different for the whole village. Clan-people who know chakra aren't nearly as highly at risk of abandoning their clan or village. Some people defect and become bandits after failing an exam or worse even join a rival village. That's why the academy when you are still unbound by any oath is often enough pretty restricted."
" Aa. Sasuke aknowledged. Thank you for explaining. And the pass. I would very much like it."

Going to the library meant being seen if Sasuke went as himself and he didn't like that so he put on a henge to look like a random person, at least for the way.
Inside im a secluded corner, he changed back to himself and went to the library desk.
" Hello. I'm Sasuke Uchiha here for two genin-restricted book with a pass from my sensei?"
He slid the pass over to the paper-nin.
" Okay. A moment."
And it didn't take long till the paper-nin came back with the books. " You have to bring them back in at least three days. Then you can prolong having them for another three if you need more time."
Sasuke nodded.
" Thank you, I will bring them back to you on time.
Sasuke decided to read those books at school, during lunch. After all, he didn't need to use his sharingan to remember things immedeatly and he could just mark a page and memorise it later.
Plus,at the moment at home he really wanted to figure put the seal

On the way home he brought some onigiris, prepacked bentos, spicy snacks and tomatoes and then went to the library with a plate full of timato slices, two onigiri and some of the spicy snacks.
Then he resumed his research.

That sat the pattern for the following two days. In the academy lunch breaks he read the books- and marked a lot of pages that he later memorised at home. At home, he researched for the seal.

Until he was finally done will all Seal scrolls and had a plan. He sketched out a rough seal design.
There would be the bridge of course, connecting the symbols for the place and stay. Then, he painted the seal he had needed: an activation-and connection seal that he could adjust to the artifact chakra.
If he understood everything correctly, using the artifact chakra to activate the seal would pull the artifact chakra and their storage so hopefully him to a place of existence where some part of the artifact chakra exists. It didn't necessarily go by the oldest chakra in the artifact, nor the youngest nor the majority. It was utterly random.
But Sasuke had already expected and tried to prepare for that any way.
The only problem now was getting the Artifact chakra to him and using it for himself.
Would he be able to complete that during a weekend?
Of course he also needed to still learn sensing better...and copy a lot of the jutsus laying in piles around him and intensify his history knowledge. He should also he supposed, look at Uchiha death records- as the Clan Head they were in his fathers office and that's where Sasuke always slept anyways. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Sasuke gave the books back exactly on time and thanked the Paper-nin. Then he resumed working on the last tasks he had to do before he would be ready. It was surreal. He didn't need to do so much anymore, it was a relief but he also wondered if he made a mistake. It seemed way too easy.

Sasuke contemplated. If this worked...Had other people time-travelled too? Why hadn't anyone saved uzushino if the seal-masters there were that great?
Or had they and nobody knew cause it was in another world? time? timeline?
Would he be able to save his clan in his timeline? would it become another?
But ultimately it wasn't important, anyways.
Sasuke was born as the spare, the just-in-case-everything-goes-wrong-security. He was basically born to protect his clan should all others fail and he would die for him, wether they were clan he knew or not. The time or timeline or world didn't matter because as long as Sasuke was alive they would be his clan and his duty. And he would accept that without protest.
